Not Suitable for Our School & Ongoing Refund Concerns
We engaged Genius School Management System in September 2025 and prepaid for the 2026 academic year, with the expectation of implementing a comprehensive, all-in-one school management solution.
Unfortunately, after nearly six months of attempting to implement the system, we found it unsuitable for our school’s operational needs.
While the platform appears comprehensive, our experience in practice was challenging. We encountered ongoing issues including:
-Difficulty navigating the system due to its complexity and design making it very slow
-Inconsistent behaviour within the financial module, including data not displaying reliably
-Limited usability of key features such as reporting, parent communication, and academic tools
-Features we expected to be standard (such as emailing fee statements or messaging parents) not being available
-Design limitations that made the system difficult for staff to use efficiently
Despite multiple training sessions and ongoing support, the system did not become practical for day-to-day use. In comparison, our existing tools (such as Google Workspace) proved significantly more reliable and user-friendly.
We ultimately made the decision to discontinue use of the platform.
Following this, we requested a refund for the unused prepaid subscription period (March–December 2026). Despite multiple attempts to resolve this professionally, the refund has not been processed, and communication has been limited.
While we acknowledge the effort made by the support team, the system was not a good fit for our school, and the lack of resolution regarding prepaid funds has been disappointing.
We hope this feedback is helpful for other schools considering their options.
