With its smart ink-blue border, the Border Doormat is a stylish piece to step onto when you come through the front or back door. This natural coir mat has a water-resistant vinyl backing that protects floors from muddy boots and rainy-day wellies, and it's best to keep it indoors by the hallway, bootroom or utility room door rather than on the doorstep outside. Also available in a small and double width version, it just needs vacuuming rather than shaking when it's time for a clean.
