Gainrep is a platform designed to simplify the process of obtaining professional endorsements. Our users can request endorsements from their contacts, including via email.
* I clicked on link to endorse, and it asked for my email Name and Such, It is not as simple as giving someone a review, Gain Rep Hi Jacks your contacts and spoofs emails
However, simply signing up does not automatically trigger any endorsement requests.

What the evidence shows
1. Gainrep steals your Google contacts
A cyber‑threat analyst documented that Gainrep immediately pulls your Google contacts after login and uses them to send messages.

2. It sends emails that look like they came from you
Reports describe Gainrep sending unsolicited emails to your contacts “on your behalf,” which is exactly how spoofing scams operate.

3. This is consistent with email spoofing behavior
Spoofing = forging the “From” field so an email appears to come from your address even though the sender never logged into your account.

4. Victims report being tricked into signing up
People describe receiving fake invitations from “friends,” signing up, and then having Gainrep message their entire contact list.

To send requests, users must take several deliberate steps: provide explicit consent THIS IS TRICK PART 1 , check the box labeled “I confirm and authorize Gainrep YOU THINK YOU ARE CONSENTING FOR GAINREP TO SEND YOU EMAILS AND SO YOU CAN ENDORSE A CONTACT NOT TO send invitations to my contacts on my behalf,” and then click the appropriate button to proceed. THERE IS NO SUCH BUTTON
If you haven’t completed these steps and still noticed invitations being sent, please let us know so we can investigate further. If you’ve accidentally invited your contacts, you can stop any future invitations by visiting the My Network page. PROBABLY ANOTHER TRICK GOING TO YOUR PAGE!

I never authorized Gainrep to contact my business contacts. Without my permission, a company representative used or obtained my contact list and sent unsolicited emails to those individuals on the company's behalf. This is a serious breach of trust and privacy. I have filed complaints with the FTC and my state Attorney General. I would strongly caution any business from sharing contact data or granting this company access to their accounts. Proceed with extreme caution.
