I bought the Fourth Frontier X2 on the recommendation of my cardiologist. I’m a runner with a history of ventricular tachycardia, so the ability to take live ECGs during runs and send them to my doctor sounded incredibly valuable.
Unfortunately, the reliability has been extremely disappointing — especially given the price and the fact this is marketed as serious health tech.
In under a year, the problems started. The magnetic charging point became rusty from sweat (something you would expect to be tested against in a wearable designed for exercise). Customer service told me to use a USB charger instead.
Next came connectivity issues — the app couldn’t receive data from the device. I was offered a refurbished replacement, which worked for a while, but then more faults developed:
Finishing an activity and trying to stop recording would freeze the app, which continued recording indefinitely. The only way to stop it was to uninstall the app completely.
Activities would randomly stop recording mid-run.
Sometimes the device wouldn’t turn on at all.
It has been one issue after another. This is an expensive piece of kit that’s meant to provide dependable health monitoring, yet I’ve found it stressful and unreliable — the opposite of what you need when using a device for heart monitoring.
I really wanted this to work, but based on my experience, I would not recommend it.

Great customer service, had a synching issue but customer service replied within a few hours and had it sorted the next day. Finding the extra layer of ECG data over regular HRM really useful.

One of the most customer orientated company's I have ever dealt with. Nothing is too much trouble, if you have queries members of staff take them on board and make it their responsibility to get you the correct information. Five stars are not sufficient to grade Fourth Frontier. Their products are first class and their follow up programme ensures that you can get the absolute maximum out of your product. Special mention to Poonam for her ongoing support and Pradnya for giving me so much information on my monitor. Thank you again.

It is obvious that this team strives to offer a world class product and support experience. My son was infrequently experiencing some irregular heart rhythm. After researching several sources we found this product as an option he could use for long term monitoring and potentially capable of offering him and his medical support team the information needed for diagnosis. After consulting his medical team, we opted to go for an even higher grade medical device. Going through the purchase and return process was pure professionalism.

I have to say, Fourth Frontier is a whole new experience for me: I've never had such an excellent support from any company in my life. It's a young company, which really tries to make every customer happy, and for that they go even further than just the extra mile. Friendly, quick, flexible, personal. It's really amazing. I would wish every company would treat their customers like that. I was really skeptical, but through their great support, they turned me into a loyal customer.

Had my device for less than a year and it quit charging. Support did take it back to look at it and installed a USB c to magnet adapter. Now after 6 months the adapter has rusted due to perspiration and now has damaged the device internally. They offered to let me buy a new unit for a discounted price after their fix made my device useless! I would strongly suggest other options! I am using a WHOOP LIFETIME currently!

I just love this product and company. I recently had some heart issues and would use this product to monitor my progress. I had some issues with the device but were quickly resolved by the Fourth Frontier team especially Sahid. I would definitely recommend this to everyone.

This is an outstanding company that stands behind their product. I had my Fourth Frontier X2 for about a year when I started having some problems with saving data. I contacted the customer service department and they attempted to work through different fixes to no avail. Poonam realized the trouble I was having and setup a return and at the same time sent me a new unit. I received the new X2 yesterday and used it today… perfection! What a great experience I had with this company and their great product. The X2 is an outstanding unit that works incredibly well and their customer service is second to none!

Banti Kumar did a great job of solving my problem quickly. I love my new monitor. Knowing your heart rate isn't enough. Being able to see the P-QRS complex gives real insight.

I contacted the Fourth Frontier support people as I had a problem with my new device. I was very impressed by the way they answered quickly and resolved my issue.
I am using the device to monitor my heart rate as I quickly become ill when exercising outside my recommended zone. I love the way it alerts me if I am starting to overdo my exercise. This will give me much more confidence when exercising and playing with the grandchildren.

After 6 or 7 years my heart monitor has bitten the dust, probably because of my own fiddling. Over this time the unit and the app has been very good, I have enjoyed using this device and while initially pricey its been well worth the money. When I've needed help the customer service has been instant and useful, just what customer service should be. Excellent!

Fitness tracking with great leading metrics to track overall physical health . The premium features really help in tweaking ones fitness plans and . Very useful particularly for an aging body . HRV and VO2 max help in maximizing fitness and stress levels

This device is really GREAT. It always works... connects easy to both my Zwift and Rouvy and reliably gives a real life EKG that is clear, easy to read and is emailable to a physician etc. It breaks down your history very clearly and easily to understand on the app. Everything form training load to heart rate to breathing rate and heart strain to an accurate VO2 max ... worth the money. Highly recommend !!

I purchased the Frontier X 2 on 14 Feb 2024. It stopped working on September 8, 2025. I contacted support. Unit was assessed directly by a rep (via online meeting) and determined to be defective. No refund or exchange was issued because unit had not been purchased though a channel Frontier recognise. Even though the unit was authentic, they did not stand by the product nor recalled to inspect closer to determine what had gone wrong. Cost of unit was 450AUD and didn’t even last 2 years. Not great value. Frontier offered a 30% discount on a new unit that on the website is nearly 600 USD (and offered with a standard 25% off). Why would I buy again, even with a very poor discount, based on durability experienced?
If the unit is authentic then stand by it.

I had a charging issue with my X Plus and contacted technical support.
Poonam responsed very quickly and sent an instruction movie how to solve the issue.
After all it was just the led's showed another pattern than expected due to an update to the latest firmware, so not really a technical issue :)
