After tramping around different car dealers looking, test driving and of course trying to get a deal I was pointed in the direction of Forces Cars Direct by one of my old Army buddies. I was a little wary at first due to the discounts on offer across so many brands, so I did some digging around and everything was coming up roses. I took the plunge and initially spoke with Julian who started the ball rolling.
After my order was placed I was dealing with Amy. As I had a factory order the process was a little longer but seamless.
Now the wait is over and I have a shiny KIA sitting on my driveway.
I did have contact with VERTU KIA to order some extras and Kirsty was excellent in sorting things with myself and FCD.
WOW FCD are the Golden Goose when it comes to buying a vehicle with huge savings you can’t go wrong.

I ordered my new VW with Julian, who was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. Once the order was placed I dealt with Jessica, who provided regular updates throughout. The whole process was really easy and very smooth. Everyone I spoke with was very friendly and helpful, it certainly didn't feel like I was dealing with anyone from sales!
I'm very happy with my new car, it drives beautifully and none of our local dealers could get anywhere near the price. If you are currently serving or have served in the past I would highly recommend this company.

The delivery time quoted at ordering is the same as all UK dealers. However, with Forces Cars Direct, it is likely to be delayed and this may be significantly longer than could be obtained with other suppliers. This is due to delays when the order is booked with the manufacturer and additional third party delays. Do your own checks locally and don’t believe all that you are promised. In my case, the discount received didn’t offset the additional 6 month wait imposed a week after placing my order.

My Experience (April 2025)
In April 2025, Forces Cars Direct offered about a £2500 saving on a Skoda Kodiaq against my local dealerships. The exact same specification as was quoted elsewhere was ordered with Forces Cars Direct on 4 April, and the deposit paid. An order confirmation was received via email that same day with a delivery date of July 2025 was as expected. This was exactly as had been discussed and in line with the lead times offered by my local Skoda dealerships at the time, 14 weeks.

On 9 April, my delivery coordinator emailed the next steps along with confirmation of a July delivery date. All was good, or so I thought…. Two days later, the sales consultant contacted me to advise that the delivery dates had slipped, considerably! This is when the problems started.

On 11 April, Forces Cars Direct told me that the manufacturer, Skoda had delayed the delivery of my car until January 2026; a 6 month further delay and increasing the lead time to over 44 weeks! I was further advised that this delay was due to a successful promotion that Skoda had been running and that ALL orders with Skoda UK would also have suffered this significant delay. Obviously, I asked how Skoda could possibly have made such a significant error as I had been informed that Skoda published lead times to dealerships on all its vehicles weekly. I asked about compensation from Skoda UK as they had obviously made a significant error in calculating the lead times. I was advised I would not be able to get any compensation and all UK deliveries would be affected by this same delay.

Force Cars Direct then offered me vehicles that were substantially different from the one I had ordered and even suggested that I buy a different new car from another manufacturer and many options were more expensive. It all began to smell a little fishy.

My own investigations with local dealers, and Skoda UK, did show that for new orders placed at that time (2 weeks later than my original order date) there had been an increase to 21 weeks (+7 weeks) on delivery times. When Forces Direct were informed of this, they were adamant that Skoda UK and my local dealers were wrong at it was still 44 weeks. I asked why Skoda UK and my local dealers had different lead times. Forces Direct were adamant that the lead times I was being told were wrong! But how were Skoda dealers and Skoda UK so wrong? The feeling that something was very wrong with Forces Cars Direct was getting larger and the fishy smell was stronger than ever!

A question on social media showed that other people who had just ordered a new Skoda Kodiaq still had delivery times inline with their initial expectations. Cars ordered at the beginning of April still had a 14 week lead time and would be delivered in July. Some people even checked with their own dealers to check that the deliveries hadn’t slipped. They hadn’t.

So back to Forces Direct, who now decided to offer a refund of the deposit, or that I accept the delivery in January 2026. When further pressed, the sales consultant confirmed that Forces Cars Direct hadn’t even placed the order with Skoda 2 weeks after confirming my order!

So, my order had not been properly processed and would now be at the back of the manufacturing queue and I was told it wouldn’t affect my delivery time. So, how could a delivery date have been stated, that was allegedly due to Skoda UK manufacturing queues and the same for all, yet the order had not actually been entered into the queue?

Obviously, I was not being told the whole truth! I have now ordered the same model and extras I wanted with a local dealer, at a higher price, with a confirmed delivery estimate of September. This additional delay was because of the increase in manufacturing lead times and entering the order now 3 weeks later.

Concerningly, Forces Cars Direct have no idea why the lead time was different for them. They still believe they have the correct times and it is the same for all UK suppliers.

The problem I had was that I was not being told the truth about what was causing the extended delays. I have now cancelled my order with Forces Cars Direct and reordered through a local dealer. I did get my deposit and fee back after another week.

My suspicion lies with their chosen car supplier (DM Keith Leeds) who wanted my order in their new bonus accounting period?

Excellent service & kept me informed at all times. Huge range of vehicles to browse through. Polite, friendly and helpful sales staff who don’t act like sales people - a refreshing approach!

Haven't received my vehicle yet but if all goes well it's a great service to use as an ex forces member, you certainly won't get better prices for new vehicles direct from dealerships

The customer service is great, Julian provided quotes for a couple of configurations and once we selected the best fit for us the process was smooth.

They went above and beyond for me, sorting out an issue with the log book on my behalf with the dealership.
Since delivery, I have had people at work ask where I purchased the car so I have made sure to recommend Forces Cars Direct.

If you are currently serving or a veteran and looking at buying a new car this is must go to company that offer great discounts that cannot be met by your high street / on line dealer. My sales chap was a guy called Lewis who could not of been more helpful even after I placed my order I changed my mind on a couple of things and he was very professional and patient and help me with everything I asked. Lewis 5* all day long.
