Not paying in timely fashion almost 2 months to get paid
I have had great experiences with Focus Groups and now Sago. Unfortunately, in 2025 and 2026 payment has become a HUGE issue. I don't know if they are having financial problem or what. I did a study some time ago. I got the points for conversion back on 3/12. Today is 4/29 and still no money or Amazon giftcards. On the site it says they pay in 2 to 3 weeks. When I spoke to the gentleman today he apologized and said 7 weeks is way too long. I should receive it in 24 to 48 hours. He would expedite the payment. I have started seeing more and more complaints. I have e-mailed them twice in the last two weeks with NO RESPONSE. I finally had to call the headquarters in New Jersey. This is no way to run a company and reward participants. I don't know what is going on with Sago/Focus Groups, but it is not a good sign when they are not paying in a timely fashion. All I can sense is BIG PROBLEMS!!! Pay your participants.!!!! Timely!!! 7 weeks is way too long.

FocusGroups.org is an independent platform that lists opportunities from many different providers. We are not affiliated with Sago (formerly Focus Pointe Global, website: https://www.focusgroup.com/ notice the .com, we are .org), and we do not have a headquarters in New Jersey.
It sounds like your grievance is specifically with Focus Group by Sago. We recommend reaching out to them directly or updating your review to their specific Trustpilot page so the right team can address your payment.

Where is my bonus?
I had done projects with this company in the past and although it took a very long time to get paid, I had positive experiences and trusted them. Then I received an email about a survey that paid $15 that required a photo, but they were offering an additional $60 bonus. I completed the survey as directed and was paid the $15 within a couple of days. I inquired about the bonus and was told that I would get it as soon as the study closed. I contacted them four more times once it closed. I finally was told my uploaded picture was bad quality. I responded with a copy of the pic, it was very good quality. The final response I received stated I was only paid the $15 as a courtesy, my survey answers had not met requirements, I would not receive the bonus. If the survey did not meet requirements, why was I not immediately informed? Why was I paid the base amount so quickly? Why was I given various excuses about the bonus being delayed? The new policy for redeeming points requires a $50 minimum, so the $15 that was sent cant be used. I answered questions truthfully but I dont think my answers where the answers the study was hoping to find. I feel like offering a bonus and stalling me for 3 weeks before telling me I won't receive it was unethical. I realized how very little recourse people have if these companies choose to mislead us. BEWARE

Study Details: We have never conducted a $15 survey with a $60 bonus matching this description.
Payment Policy: We do not have a $50 minimum requirement for redeeming points or payments; the minimum on our platform is $20.
We take our reputation and our relationship with our contributors very seriously. We would love to help you clear this up—could you please double-check the "Sender" email address of the survey invitation or the name on your bank statement?
If you find that this was indeed intended for us, please contact us immediately through our contact page with your account details so we can investigate this further. However, if you realize this was meant for a different company, we kindly ask that you remove or update this review.

I love doing the studies love it the only reason I give it 1 star is for the timing of getting paid 4 to 6 weeks that's kind of crazy to me and it's even like that for a virtual card not sure why it has to process for so long especially when you been doing your studies for so long now. I did a study the other day and had options to get zelle, PayPal or a gift card and that happen the day after. I just feel like yall process needs to change with that. Again this review isn't about the company because you all have great studies. It's about the payment processing time. Imagine doing a study in the beginning of February and not getting your payment until close to the end of March and that's even with getting a virtual card.

We completely hear you on the payment timing. To give you some context on why it takes longer for certain studies: once a study is finished, the individual client (the research firm) has to perform a quality verification on all responses. Because we want to ensure our participants get credited correctly, we have to wait for the client to give the final "green light" before the payment can be released.
While some clients process this in a day, others take longer, and unfortunately, that verification phase is out of our hands. However, we are always pushing our partners to speed up their processing times because we know how important it is to get paid quickly!

Hey there! That sounds like some of the disclaimers from the surveys or studies we share. This is typical of the market research process. We'd recommend you read their disclaimers to learn more as each has different protocols but normally, they do not sell your info.

Ive only been selected for a couple of focus groups, but so far so good. The process was smooth for each grouo I completed. The facilitators were friendly & provided precise instructions that were easy to understand and follow. Estimated time required for each task or encounter was accurate and payment was received just like stated. Definitely a good option for anyone with an opinion and some free time.
