An extraordinary and overwhelming day. I have loved the Spitfire since I was a kid, and the thought of actually flying in one of these beautiful machines (let alone maybe taking the controls) was frankly beyond my wildest dreams. Knowing this, my kids were the inspiration and my wife bought me the flight as a birthday present. We extended it to include Beachy Head, and the chase plane for the family - both options thoroughly recommended.

The whole experience was perfect. Laurie, Amanda and everyone made the whole family feel welcome and involved in the experience from the start. The briefing was thorough, enjoyable, and getting kitted up intensely exciting. Paul and the team also managed to ensure we got a chase plane big enough to take pretty much the entire family - so grateful for this.

Whilst they got airborne, I met pilot Barry (warmth, experience, professionalism and calmness personified) and was strapped in and given the last ARC checks by Simon (very thorough, and his friendliness and enthusiasm is infectious). Hearing (and feeling) the Merlin fire up, taxiing out, actually being sat in MJ-627 as it left the ground - words don't get close. And rising up into the sun to rendezvous with the chase plane, and seeing my family having the time of their lives up there and sharing it all as we flew along the coast above the Seven Sisters - this is a deathbed memory. Actually taking the controls, and the thrill of Barry's perfectly executed victory rolls and then landing, were icing on the cake.

Then meeting up with the family as they landed, photos with Barry, Simon and everyone by this astonishing machine. The factory tour afterwards maybe should have been eclipsed by the flight - the fact that it wasn't shows just how fascinating Laurie, Jake and everyone we spoke to made it. And I can't stop watching the videos from the GoPros and chase plane.

This is an outstanding company - welcoming, friendly, passionate about what they do, and above all safe, and thoroughly professional. If you've ever even remotely thought about something like this - just do it (and enjoy the shared memories forever).

If you never do anything else, do this... it is just the most incredible experience. From meeting the support team, pre-briefing with the pilot, the flight itself and the de-brief this could not have been made any better.
The pilot, Barry, was wholly accommodating in respect of flying over familiar countryside from the Cotswold Airport and was happy to let me take the controls, albeit briefly, to allow me now to say "I've flown a Spitfire!" having never piloted an aircraft of any sort previously.
We performed a couple of rolls, an experience never to be forgotten, and all was captured on video from 3 separate fixed cameras, plus my wife Elaine's excellent efforts from the optional chase plane.
These guys are the ultimate professionals and I highly recommend them to anyone looking to complete that last item on the bucket list. It doesn't get any better.

From booking the Spitfire flight through to the flight itself was an unforgettable experience, booking with Sylwia was very easy. The whole day was very well organised and the briefing was very thorough. Would recommend this experience to anybody. Also well worth booking the Chase Plane magnificent views of the Spitfire.

Amazing experience. My husband was in the spitfire. Hadn’t stopped grinning everytime he thinks about it. It’s Tuesday he flew Sunday! We were in the chaser plane so really felt part of the experience. An amazing memory made

What an amazing experience! A close friend bought me this for my 70th, Nige was our instructor, what a top bloke!

I've flown light aircraft before, but this was on another level, so realistic. Nige calmly talked me though the basics and Victory rolls and loop the loops. Flying around the Needles was great fun. The final Victory roll over the Solent and HMS Queen Elizabeth topped an amazing time. 9 out of 6 Nige!

Great people, great experience. It was all professionally done and all staff at Fly a Spitfire are so friendly and helpful. If you dont do the flight then you must do the hangar tour at Biggin Hill where you are constantly reminded that the planes are still with us but not the brave pilots who flew them for us. I went up in the spitfire "Grey Nurse" at Cotswold airport and it was superb and unforgettable. My pilot Barry flew us out towards Stroud and we flew over our house! I even took control for about a minute. There is a great cafe there called AV8 where your friends can get a coffee while they wait your return. Afterwards we went to the Thames Head Pub 5 mins away for a great meal. All in, a fantastic and truly memorable experience.

This company is a complete scam. They cancelled my flight due to weather and then refused to refund all my money. On top of that they told me they were keeping £92 for credit card fees but then kept over £140. Absolute scam and fraudulent!

From the time we arrived to the time we left, there was nothing more they could have done to make this experience more memorable. All the staff, and especially my pilot Adam Green, who, without doubt, has the best job in the world! made the day, which on this occasion was my 60th birthday, even more special, and when we flew over the white cliffs of Dover, I thought it could not get better than this, but it did as for a short time I was given control of the Spitfire and then Adam did a victory roll, a perfect end to a perfect day, and I forgot to mention you have the whole fight recorded for you to take away to relive the experience over and over again. I just want to say once again a big thank you to everyone at Warbird Experiences (Fly A Spitfire.com) who were fantastic.

Friendly welcome from all the staff. Flying in MT818 with the Pilot Jeremy Britcher was a sheer pleasure. He is a true Ambassador for the company and makes you very relaxed throughout your flight.

It was a fabulous experience on my 70th birthday. Very relaxed, no rush, no pressure and all procedures, expectations and possible issues were fully and clearly communicated. My pilot, Adam Green, provided a faultless flight and like all others supporting the operation was friendly and welcoming. The hanger tour was a nice addition and our guide, Simon, was clearly extremely knowledgeable about all that is displayed.

One of the greatest days of my life, an absolute must for anyone. The experience from start to finish was spot on and a big thanks to all the team at Into The Blue. The flight was memorable and actually getting to fly the Spitfire just incredible. I will never forget the victory rolls over Beachy Head on such a clear blue day. My brother was given a Spitfire flight by his son, he also brought the chase plane for the other five family and friends who went along. The best ever day. Absolutely fantastic. All of the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly making our day even more memorable. Just wish we could do it again. Worth every penny

Best we start at the beginning.
In May this year we lost our dear son he was aged just 35 he was a commercial airline pilot who was also due to fly in a spitfire at some point this year but this wasn't to be. As a tribute to our son we wanted to arrange a flypast / display at his memorial.
We didn't know where to begin so having contacted
Fly A Spitfire at Biggin Hill and spoken to a lovely lady called Sylwia, we explained what we wanted to do and she talked us through the process, she was a great listener and was most compassionate to our circumstances.
We then received a call from Darren who understood our requirements and set wheels in motion dealing with the CAA he went the extra mile and got the green light within a very short time frame as we didn't have the amount of days required.
We arranged our sons memorial flypast/display at the Holliday Inn at Southend Airport on the 13th August 2023 over looking the runway. At 15.00 on the dot our son's memorial air display began with the sound of the aircraft It was incredible and very emotional, an amazing tribute for our dear son.
So at this point we need to say a very huge thank you to all those who played a part in this tribute to our son.
From the first phone call we made to Fly A Spitfire to receiving a call 15 minutes after the display finished from the pilot himself Mark Flewin to check with us that we were happy with the display. Mark said it was a privilege to play a part in this tribute ( Thank You Mark )
We need to say a huge thanks to Fly A spitfire and their incredible team in particular Sylwia in administration who started our ball rolling and passed our details to Darren who set the wheels in motion, Barry who came to meet us and organise our personal items to go in the aircraft, he also arranged a factory tour for us with Simon who is extremely knowledgeable. The factory tour is a MUST if you're looking for a special gift for anyone. On the day of the display a special thank you to the two Marks, Mark the pilot and Marc who called me in the morning and throughout the day with updates ensuring me that all would run to plan and true to his word it did, thank you Marc for the photos and videos. What an amazing day thanks to an incredible team in Fly A Spitfire. I would have no hesitation in recommending this amazing company at all.

The whole experience was fantastic from the initial communication to completion.
Not having a car I called to say we may be a few minutes late as we were walking from the bus stop and was told to wait where we were and they came and picked us up.
The enthusiasm and sheer joy you are met with is contagious. Everyone is so proud to work where they do. They have the utmost respect for the planes and aircrew who flew in them and are keen to share their knowledge. Book a tour of the hanger and see what I mean :-)
Walking away was hard to do but even then one of the team pulled over and gave us a lift to the bus stop!
