Fit Litter does not last the distance
I have been using Fit Litter in my indoor cat's litter tray for a considerable time now and the claim that it lasts a month without odour is just not true at all on both counts.
At around 3 weeks the urine odour is quite noticeable and my one and only male cat also manages to spread crystals over a couple of square metres when covering his wees and poos.
He is one very happy healthy and active cat and I am generally vacuuming crystals off the floor every day or so.
The litter tray I have is quite large (495mm x 375mm x 225mm) so it takes an almost full 3.6 kg bag of Fit Litter plus to get full cover to ~ 7.5 mm depth.
At least every morning and evening I do a no tilt "panning gold" horizontal action to even out the litter in the tray.
Moonshine is very conscientious in covering his business so I have to be quick to check colour and thankfully the colour is always yellow.
He had a UTI when young and I was using wood pellet litter. This is the reason I change the Fit Litter out when any odour is present.
When I change the litter, there is always a green residue of clumped crystal litter on the plastic floor of the tray and I am hesitant to stir through or dump the whole tray under 3 weeks as suggested.
Since I always keep the depth in the tray at the top range of the suggested depth, this indicates to me that the crystals are not really absorbing all the urine effectively.
