Installed our wood burning stove and the whole team were knowledgeable, very helpful and kept us informed all the way thorough the process. We now have it serviced every year, no fuss and excellent service. Would highly recommend.

I selected the Fireplace Fitters Company after reading reviews of their work and I must say I'm very happy with everything.

It consisted in installing a liner, fireplace surround, hearth and stove. The quoting process went smoothly, I was particularly pleased that they agreed to install a surround and hearth that I would source myself as I had specific requirements for those and many companies insist on supplying these themselves to these days.

The installation went very well. The installers protected carefully the area and left the space tidy once done. They also had to do work from my neighbours' property andy neighbours were happy with the way it was handled. I particularly appreciated that they offered me the flexibility to perform the installation in 2 phases so I could install brick slips before the wood burner is installed.

All in all I'm very pleased with the process and particularly pleased with the result so I can only recommend these guys!

Having worked in this industry extensively before, I can honestly say how challenging and multi skilled you need to be at overcoming obstacles that you will definitely come across, quite often on a daily basis. Unfortunately, no prior survey, (and these guys are good at that as well) no matter how competent the surveyor, can ever fully reveal some of the hidden horrors that the UK housing stock will throw at you!

But having met all of the staff and fitters
on a number of occasions, I can only say they are all completely unflappable and by far one of the best Fireplace fitting companies you will come across.

Fireplace fitters fitted a beautiful gas stove 5 years ago. Each year they remind me to have it serviced and are regularly in contact to make sure everything is okay. Can’t recommend them enough. Especially when you are as as forgetful as me, they are thr company you need!

I had a real fire problem... the manufacturer had given up responding as had the installer, countless engineers as well as 3 other fireplace companies.
The Fireplace Fitters did not stop until they solved it. Their knowledge, experience and customer service far exceeds anyone in their industry.
They’re reliable and communicative, their engineers are practical, creative and helpful.
They’re literally second to none. I can’t recommend them enough.

It took a year to fit in a simple wood burner flue going straight up a flat roof. We had their installers 5/6 times, every time there was an issue. First time it was so poorly installed that made me cry. On top of that they sprayed chemical paint inside the house with all my 2 year old son’s toys around. No compensation, apology or understanding - we had to clean the house for hours after to make sure it’s safe for a toddler, or us!
This was followed by two leaks and no real solution how to make it waterproof. We had to ask our builder to finish the job.
They have been responsive but really it’s been incredibly frustrating. If you’re using them, you need to hold their hand along the way and watch over them at all times!

Fireplace Fitters have been polite but incompetent and unable to correct course at every turn. We asked for a simple install of one wood burner in our living room.
Their assessment was unambiguously positive and with no warnings of any complexity.
Despite that, they managed to:
1. Spray point the flu inside our main living space without making a containment space - we had toxic particles flying all over our house for 2 days and had to do a full on clean - our son was 18 months at the time. They did not seem to understand where they went wrong.
2. Installed the flu badly, resulting in the roof leaking where they did their flashing work.
3. Agreed to cover costs and hired an outside roofing "professional" (because the first crew weren't I guess) to patch up the job BUT THAT FAILED TOO. IT LEAKED AGAIN !!!
4. Came back with my own team that I selected with their team onsite to check if everything was up to their standard, BUT DECIDED TO LEAVE DURING WORKS (only a couple of hours) only to tell me the job had not been done to regs. Even thought they were effectively footing the bill.
5. Finally, they agreed to cover the do-over, BUT RENEGNED AT THE LAST MINUTE on an additional layer that asked my builders to put in due to all the complexity that had happened, which I now have to pay for. And to be clear, they just decided ignore my last email.
This is probably a long message no one will read, but at least the facts are there in as succinct a version I can tell them for those that want to know.

The installers were knowledgeable, helpful and did a great job. Talked through the installation and any issues and worked quickly and efficiently, leaving the fireplace and flue in situ with no mess. Would recommend to anyone.

We were undecided on which fuel we should go for ( natural gas vs LPG) and Fireplace Fitters talked through the options that were open to us. Without being too prescriptive over the phone, it was suggested that a site visit be undertaken by their engineers Kai and Jordan. Having taken the time to visit us, the pros an cons of each option was discussed in full, which enabled us to a make a significantly more informed decision. We then had to make a decision on manufacturer and model. Again Kai and Jordan were extremely helpful! The fitting was completed very efficiently and very tidily - again thanks to Kai and Jordan.

I purchased a flueless gas fire from direct-fireplaces-com for £450 I struggled to find a local fitter who would fit the fire for a reasonable price for what is a straightforward job which would take 1-2 hours. I was refered to Fireplace fitters by directheatingservices-com/ a "sister" company of Direct Fireplaces. This company quoted £650 PLUS VAT!!! I had previously been quoted between £250+VAT and £350 plus VAT. When I spoke to Fireplace Fitters and questioned their outrageous price I was told that "the fiiters don't like working on flueless gas fires" What an excuse! Do they get a wad of danger money? Are they even trained on flueless fires? I was told "that's our price, if you dont like it you are free to go elswhere" which I did. I finally engaged a reputable local company via checkatrade who completed the job in an hour (despite some problems) and so charged me an hours labour (£130 + VAT). This company blatantly tried to rip me off

From the beginning to end The Fireplace Fitters Company Ltd were 100% committed to ensuring that the work carried out was done to a very high standard and carried out in a professional manner. The office staff were friendly and helpful and were extremely communicative. The fitters were also friendly and behaved in a respectful polite manner. I could not fault the Company at all. The after sales care was excellent. I would thoroughly recommend this Company.

Fireplace Fitters installed two antique fireplaces in our house, including having to rebuild a lintel. They were friendly, speedy and professional and good value to boot. Definitely recommend.
