I bought 2 FireAngel alarms 2-3 years ago. Both products have an expiry date of 2031.
Like nearly every review on here, one of the alarms became faulty about a week ago.
As per the online advice, I sent all of my personal details, batch number and model number as well as a photo of the item. The advice was to “proof of purchase (if available)”. Maybe I’m wrong, but I can’t imagine most people keep receipts for years and years, I know I don’t, especially when the specific item can be identified by the item sticker details.
I’ve been told that the faulty item cannot be replaced as I can’t find my receipt.
As I’m not in a position to replace the alarm I have now moved the remaining alarm to the downstairs ceiling and no longer have an alarm upstairs.
To be honest, after reading all of the reviews, it seems these alarms commonly fault and I would be reluctant to spend further money with this brand even if I wasn’t as cash strapped as I am

I used to fit FireAngel alarms when I owned a small GasSafe registered company that looked after landlords' properties. I would not want to continue doing so, in the future, given recent experiences, for three important reasons.
The customer support is shocking. I reported that units in my home had failed within the ten-year life of the alarms. The company, depite me showing photos of the serial numbers and expiry dates would not honour the warranty without purchase receipts.
Five units have failed at one property within less than a 2-year period of installation. All were 10-year linked alarms.
Screwfix (Plumbfix) is selling units that have less than 10-year expiry dates, in fact I have been unable to buy an alarm with an expiry date 10 years from now.
FireAngel is as disappointing as Kidde when it comes to smoke and CO alarms.
My take is, spend the extra and get Aico

Unfortunately, it seems the company does not honour purchases from retailers on eBay. According to an email from FireAngel, the warranty extends only to Screwfix, B&Q, Toolstation, and FireAngel. This, to me, suggests that all others' alarms are 'hooky' as Del Boy might say. By the way Screwfix is still selling out-of-date heat alarms, perhaps that's why the Company is flogging them at a £10 discount

Had an issue with my smoke alarm. The gentleman called Robbie resolved the issue in no time and send a replacement.

Contacted regarding constantley chirping alarm.
Told it was faulty but installed by builder and no receipt. Replace date on alarm was feb 2033.
Not interested in helping further or replacing faulty item.

Recently via Amazon I purchased 12 FireAngel smoke / CO alarms, a mixed selection. One of the smoke alarms proved to be faulty.
I contacted the FireAngel customer care team (via the Amazon ‘contact the manufacturer’ link). FireAngel responded promptly and courteously, initially with maintenance / technical advice aimed at resolving the problem, however this proved unsuccessful. A replacement alarm has now been offered and accepted and is on its way.
From the outset the interaction with FireAngel was positive, it was obvious that someone, namely Madjid, had read my complaint / issue and the follow up was quick, helpful and conclusive.

I bought an expensive mains powered FireAngel hardwired alarm system, with, I thought, the ability to control it, without broom handles on their Android app. I discovered from the very helpful (a shout out for Carol) helpdesk staff after installation that:
1. The app is only compatible with the wireless, not hardwired system configuration. Back up the steps.
2. Android phones have problems logging in to the app, as the sign up button is off the screen.
3. The app can't turn the alarm off anyway, as it is illegal for it to do so. Nothing in Fireangel's accompanying leaflets or on their website to tell you any of this.
Back goes the wireless gateway. I could get Back to the broom handle,

FireAngel is either falsely advertising or has faulty products. Regardless, they were unwilling to honour their 10 year guarantee. The fire/smoke alark expired at circa 7 years. Customer Service was dismissive and rude and it seemed clear they couldn’t care less about it, and make it as hard as possible for you to be reimbursed for the remainder of the battery life or for it to be deducted from the next purchase. Also, see reviews under other slightly different names for FireAngel, which are very poor. I imagine they started this new thread under a slightly different name to distance themselves from their own bad reviews.
