Do not have them service your watch.
I took my watch for a new band and asked about adjusting the watch. The owner said they would do a service and offered a good price. I agreed to the service. He mentioned a 5 year warranty. He wanted the payment in cash.
Unfortunately, the service made my Seiko watch worse, and I took it back twice but each time it got even worse rather than better. It now runs over two minutes slow per day and only runs for a maximum of about 16 hours rather than the normal 38 to 40 hours. And he used too much oil, and there is dirt inside the case. You can see the oil and a proper service only uses a tiny bit of oil at each moving point.
Additionally, when I picked up the watch after the first service, he would not give a receipt and he said the warranty was only six months. He never would allow to keep even the ticket to pick up the watch. And he refused to give a refund. A different Seiko dealer told us that in any case local jewelers should not do the service.
