En el mundo del contenido digital, las métricas importan. No lo son todo, pero sí son una brújula. Nos ayudan a entender si lo que estamos haciendo funciona, si estamos creciendo y hacia dónde ajustar. Por eso, cuando una herramienta promete medir ese impacto, lo mínimo que esperamos es consistencia, transparencia y lógica.
Esta semana tuve una experiencia desagradable con Favikon que me deja más dudas que certezas.
Durante más de un año he mantenido un crecimiento sostenido en LinkedIn. Mis métricas han sido claras, estables y en tendencia positiva. En Favikon, esto también se reflejaba: buenos posicionamientos, evolución coherente y datos alineados con la realidad.
Hasta que, de un día para otro, todo dejó de tener sentido.
Sin previo aviso, caí más de 27,000 posiciones en el ranking. No una bajada progresiva, no un ajuste menor: una caída abrupta e ilógica. Desde un punto de vista analítico, simplemente no existe explicación para un cambio así en 24 horas cuando todos los indicadores siguen en verde.
Decidí contactar a soporte.
La respuesta fue aún más preocupante que la caída: según ellos, es “natural”.
Compartí mis estadísticas reales de LinkedIn, intentando entender qué estaba ocurriendo. Pero en lugar de recibir una explicación técnica o un análisis serio, obtuve respuestas genéricas, poco claras y difíciles de sostener con datos. Lo más grave es que incluso contradicen la información visible dentro de la misma plataforma.
Esto me lleva a varias conclusiones:
Primero, si una herramienta no puede explicar sus propios resultados, entonces esos resultados no son confiables.
Segundo, el problema no es solo el algoritmo, sino la falta de responsabilidad. Cuando algo no cuadra, lo mínimo esperable es revisión, ajuste y claridad. No normalizar errores.
Tercero, la experiencia de atención al cliente deja mucho que desear. Respuestas predefinidas, falta de seguimiento real y afirmaciones cuestionables como decir que revisaron un perfil cuando hay formas de verificar que no fue así.
En mi opinión, esto refleja una mala práctica. No se trata de ser perfecto, sino de cómo respondes cuando algo falla. Ahí es donde realmente se diferencia una plataforma profesional de una que no lo es.
Además, hay un punto importante que no se suele mencionar: pagar por este tipo de herramientas no necesariamente te da una ventaja real. Si las métricas no son confiables, el valor se diluye completamente.
En resumen:
No se trata de ser víctima. Se trata de ser crítico.
Cuestionar las herramientas que usamos es parte del proceso. Y entender que no todo lo que parece analítico, realmente lo es.

However, I believe that making the visual 'Scorecard' available for free (or at least for high-ranking creators) would be a game-changer. I would love to share my ranking (currently #30 in Egypt) with my network on LinkedIn, which would be a great way to showcase your platform’s value to thousands of professionals.
Making the Scorecard easy to download and share for free would definitely encourage more creators like me to promote Favikon globally.

I have been on a trial for 10 days and tried to cancel it on the 13th day and it failed, for reasons I'm not aware of so I tried reaching the customer service who have been unresponsive since. My money is already charge, $228.00 and even after raising the claim form, not feedback. Should I handle this with the bank since Favikon want to inconvenience me?

I am a favicon user and I have only managed to log in four times in three weeks. The page constantly refreshes and I can't even log in, customer support is unresponsive, and the data is completely inaccurate.
I do not recommend it, and it's super expensive!
