Absolutely brilliant appointment, friendly and no pressure and honest advice, I loved the experience!

The shop was cosy, but bigger than expected. Emma was really helpful and welcoming. She was friendly and affirming. Such a positive experience. Would definitely recommend this shop for any bride to be that want something a bit different. Really great vibe 😊

If you want something a bit different to the usual then Fairy Goth Mother is definitely worth a visit.
This was quite a way for me to come, location is not the best however, don’t let that put you off, the staff were lovely and seeing the dresses made the visit definitely worth while. It was also good to try various dresses on, the sizing is very different to normal clothes/dresses so I am glad I was able to try and be measured.
I attended store for one reason - a dress I had seen months before I visited on the website and as it happened they had one left of that dress in a sample on the day I turned up, and it fit and I knew that was the dress I was having.
I visited store originally last September, i had bought the one I wanted and chose a second one that was being made, I have just had both delivered to me in the last few weeks. They came well packaged and just as expected.
I have had a couple of issues along the way however Emma dealt with the problems professionally and the dresses delivered to me are beautiful.
A massive thank you to Emma and Dani who dealt with me in person on the day I visited. I couldn’t be happier with my dresses and excited to wear them now!

Super easy to organise an appointment, great communication in the lead up talking about my budget and they type of dress i was looking for. Easy to find on the day and Emma had all the dresses ready for me. I was made to feel extremely welcome and able to really take me time to find the right dress. She was super patient with me, helped me look through a few extra dresses I had not considered and let me try on my favourites a few times so I could make the right choice. It was a great experience and I would highly recommend Fairy Goth Mother

I had a great appointment with the manager Emma, She was friendly and chatty, she listened to me and gave me advice on types of dresses I was particularly looking for Tea length and they are the uk specialist and had a huge choice, which was great. Emma took the experience from a daunting one to an enjoyable one. Thank you Emma, I would definitely recommend Fairygothmother if you are looking for an alternative wedding dress.

Really helpful and couldn’t do enough for me - the dress I wanted wasn’t in stock, but provided really helpful advice about how to source it. Put me and what I wanted ahead of their own business interests even! I’d recommend to anyone

I first visited in June 2022, ordered my dress in September and collected my dress on 11/02/2023. I want to let brides, who may be at the beginning of or still on their wedding dress journey, my thoughts about FairyGothMother. Looking for a wedding dress that is different? Then consider FairyGothMother. I knew that I wanted a wedding dress that was short enough to dance in (my fiance and I met at and dance Ceroc). Reading how stressed brides get going to lots of shops and trying on countless dresses, i was pleasantly surprised how easy it was at FairyGothMother. I only visited one wedding shop and FairyGothMother provided a joyful experience from viewing their selection of dresses on their website to purchasing my dress. It was easy to book an appointment online. All my queries were responded to quickly by email. Emma, the manager, knows her stuff re clothing and was very supportive. My daughter and best friend came to two of my appointments and we all liked Emma's attitude towards the bride. She's supportive and has a positive attitude, not allowing a body consciousness issue that I had to stop me trying on a dress. With something so personal, you want someone you feel comfortable with, and she is😁 She helps you with selecting dresses, trying them on, and can answer any questions you may have about the dresses and styling tips. She knew what dress I would go for and made me try it on last. She was right! I feel beautiful in it and am looking forward to wearing it and dancing in it on my wedding day. All in all, I would highly recommend FairyGothMother. The dresses are beautiful and the service was excellent. 🤩

I went to Fairygothmother at the end of August and was very excited to try on some dresses. I had followed the store for years and always felt it would be where I would go to get a wedding dress.

Following my experience, I absolutely would not recommend this store. I felt the assistant who helped us was rude throughout the appointment. She never told us her name, told me that sample dresses would never fit me (I am a size 18-20) but gave only one suggestion of something I could try on. Despite saying I didn’t want strapless, that one example was strapless and if looked awful. My mum lifted one dress and described it as tulle-y to differentiate it from a more satin-y one I had tried on and the assistant snapped: “that’s not tulle, it’s much more expensive than that, babe.” I felt she gave very little help or support and my bridesmaids and mum were honestly shocked by the way she was speaking to us.

It was incredibly hot in the store, which I have since learned was down to the heating system failing but that was never mentioned. A simple sorry and explanation would have made us understand that can’t be helped!

I spent a few weeks thinking about whether to speak to the store and eventually decided to as I hoped they could put some training in place so this doesn’t happen to another bride. When I emailed the store to complain about the the service, I received an email from one of the owners basically telling me that as they usually only have positive reviews, they were surprised by my comments. It felt very dismissive of my issues.

This was meant to be a special day but this experience really soured it for us. In my opinion, if you’re looking for a tea length dress, try another nearby specialist. I would not recommend anything at Fairygothmother.

I would avoid buying online if you can. Pictures did not match the dress. They do have a returns process but they make it clear on their terms it’s at their discretion. Relatively slow refund process, but I was refunded. Would definitely avoid an online purchase for this store.

EDIT - As I am unable to reply to company response. I stand by the review. I would still recommend going in store as opposed to buying online. When emailing to request my return, I was even advised by the company to have gone in store. (Please also note, dress was returned on the 17th of Jan but not collected until later due to store opening times. Refund was chased and received 26th Jan, original order placed and paid 31st Dec)

I chose my dress online with the help and advice of the team via email.

Their advice was invaluable and the dress is all I imagined and more!

Minimal alterations and it fits perfectly …….. perfect!
