Save yourself a load of hassle and avoid, do not order!

Made an order end February, paid 9th March. Stopped receiving any updates after this. I asked for an update on the 15th, 22nd and eventually asked for a refund on 24th due to no responses. Update- I did receive my order and there was a problem with my requests for updates being spam filtered. I didn’t love the service or delivery times, but there were mitigating circumstances.

I had a horrendous experience with The English Grocer. They promised to deliver a service,
but never followed through with their promises. Despite repeated attempts to reach out and
get updates, I was left feeling frustrated and disappointed.

The company's representatives were unresponsive and unhelpful. They would promise to get
back to me with updates, but never did. It felt like they were stringing me along, just to
keep me as a customer.

After months of waiting, it became clear that The English Grocer was not going to deliver on
their promises. I had wasted my time and money, and was left with nothing to show for it. It
was a frustrating and disappointing experience that left me feeling like I had been scammed.

Overall, I would not recommend The English Grocer to anyone in need of reliable and trustworthy
service. They make promises that they cannot keep, and their lack of communication and accountability
is unacceptable. Save yourself the hassle and look for a more reliable service elsewhere.

My order arrived much too late, was incomplete, very badly packed so that some of the items were squashed and what is more past their sell by dates.
I contacted the seller numerous times before I was finally informed that I would be reimbursed. However, I never received a reimbursement even though I contacted them again and again to remind them. It has now been over two months and am still waiting.
I wish I had read the bad reviews before placing my order as it seems I am not the only one who is disappointed.

Great service, nothing is too much trouble.

First order arrived incomplete, with no communication from the vendor. I had to contact them multiple times to be informed that they did not have the other item, so they offered me a credit to place another order. I placed another order... and heard nothing for two months. I emailed them nearly 10 times, and had to escalate to the Consumer Protection Agency in order to receive a refund (although I never heard from the company via email). The service is borderline criminal and I can't recommend them at all.

The process took too long from the point of order to receiving the goods, with my needing to get in touch to see what was happening in between. But ultimately it was resolved and I got my order. I would use them again providing delivery was more efficient. 4 weeks is too long

I made an order on the 10th of December and still haven’t received it. Asked for a refund if they were not going to deliver it. Emails remain unanswered, chat ignored and now their phone number is not valid so can’t even call them!

Awful never received any goods or my money back 165chf after 4 months. Still waiting 🤬

I've never had to complain but sadly one order was missing due to Christmas rush, and whilst I have a voucher having already paid ahead I now have to order for a minimum of chf 50.-- despite having a great selection I will be ordering again at some point.

Many products that can usually only be found back home. The selection is vast and the service is great!

We were pleased to identify the English Grocer for our food purchases for post Brexit Christmas Dinner. We have a holiday home near Geneva. Unfortunately things didn't work out too well. The website and follow up emails confirmed we could pick up from their depot, our preferred option. We didn't want to have to wait in for a delivery and we would also save on delivery costs. The reality was that after much backwards and forwards depot collection wasn't available. Communication could be improved. There is a phone number to call but the phone responder was unable to help. The delivery arrived with items missing and a standard letter saying that there may well be items missing and asking the client to let the English Grocer know if the order was incomplete to get a credit note or refund. Its a busy time of year but our sense is the company can't cope with their volume of work and small orders like ours are probably not prioritised.

Ordered some English products for Xmas. All arrived on time and we were able to make the most. Thank you Max!
