The English Grocer Anmeldelser 

Ordered in June , forgot about the order for two months , i then checked online and the order status was still "we have recieved your order". My Credit card company were great and refunded me the money within days. Today in October i get an email from someone called Matt wanting to send me the order.
Matt , no thanks.

Avoid at all costs.

It has been few months now and no updates and now they stopped answering my emails.

UPDATE:
They contacted me after I left negative Google review. My order should be on its way soon. I will update this review once I get it.

UPDATE 2:
Finally received my order (many products were removed from it). Yet, I do not recommend this shop to anyone, since I only got them after I left a negative Google-review and send so many emails.

HÄNDE WEG!!! SEHE DIE BEWERTUNGEN !! Es ist nur Betrug. Bestellung am 3.6.
Kein Lieferung Kein Erstattung
Nur Versprechungen wenn man überhaupt ein Antwort bekommt.
Fake Telefon Nummer auf Website.( nicht vergeben)

Never again.
Lieferung kommt nicht trotz Ermahnungen. Geld wird nicht zurückbezahlt.
Bleibt wohl nur noch ein Weg…

I am still waiting for my order #2680 placed on April 16th.
I have been constantly fobbed off with excuses and promises of delivery the following week yet nothing has materialised.
They have now stopped responding to emails. I requested my goods or a refund by the end of last week but got nada.
If I don’t receive a full reimbursent ASAP I will be contacting the FCAB and potentially taking legal action.

This is no way to run a business.

3rd of September AND I AM STILL WAITING! MY ORDER STATUS WAS UPDATED TO ‘ON THE WAY’ ON AUGUST 24th BUT IT HASN’T MIVED SINCE. I GUESS THEY STRAPPED IT TO THE BACK OF A SNAIL.

SEPTEMBER 13th AND STILL NOTHING, NO RESPONSE HERE OR TO MY EMAILS. THIS IS JUST A JOKE.
UPDATE: OCTOBER 11th AND I STIILL HAVEN’T RECEIVED MY ORDER WHICH WAS ALLEGEDLY ON IT’S WAY TO ME VIA DPD ON OCTOBER 3rd. I GUESS DPD USE SNAILS FOR DELIVERY TOO.

FINAL UPDATE: MY ORDER FINALLY ARRIVED IN MID OCTOBER BUT MISSING AN ITEM WHICH I AM YET TO BE REIMBURSED FOR.

I had high hopes for this company, but after placing an order (#2784) at the beginning of June, I have still not received a delivery, which was promised for the end of June. No response to my email requests for updates, I am now taking steps with my credit card company to reclaim my payment.

Update April 2025: Following my review, the company contacted me asking me to remove my 1* review, offering a refund and promising delivery of my order by end September 2024. I received the refund. I explained I would update my review only after everything with my order was resolved (i.e. after delivery receipt). I have not heard anything more from the company! No response to emails. Very disappointing experience overall.

I placed an order on May 22, 2024 (order #2748) and I'm still waiting for delivery!! despite several emails and phone calls to request a refund each time I was assured that delivery was imminent.
And now they weren't even answering the phone.
I was charged 160 CHF for my order
My advice is to avoid this company. This is nothing less than a scam!

I placed an order on 24th September 2023 and am still awaiting delivery!! I have requested a refund on several occasions, but each time was assured that delivery was immanent. My advise is to keep clear of this firm!!

Seit November 23 Warte ich auf mein Lieferung nach zahlreicher nachfragen und Beschwichtegen sie mir das es wird Geliefert aber Heute kein Kontakt via Telefon 26.7.24 Tel abgeschaltet und meine Geld was ich bezahlt habe ist Futsch
Nachtrag Anruf von agent werde nächste Woche ein Lieferung machen mit ersatzwaren jetzt 2 woche vergangen

Delivery took a very long time and i had to chase several times to receive any kind of update.
Packaging and end product were very good though.
I will order from them again.

Verbrecher Firma bloss Finger weg davon! Warte schon seit 1 Jahr auf meine Bestellung und immer noch nichts da! Als ich Nachgefragt habe wo das Paket Stecke hiess es, es komme nach 10 Tagen an aber was ist passiert genau Nichts! Und Antworten auf die Mails bekommt man auch keine mehr.

It's a big scam. My order was placed almost three months ago. Since then, no idea where the order is, they will not reply to phone or emails. The only time I managed to get a reaction was when I left a negative review a month ago, then they emailed asking if I could take down the review. After that, complete silence again despite my numerous requests for updates. So guess what. Here's another negative review. Trying to get my bank to get the money back since these despicable people will not give me a refund like I requested several times.

Ridiculous and abysmal.
Order placed on 8 April, didn't hear a thing until 3 May when I contacted them. By sheer miracle a few minutes later my order status was updated.
Again, haven't heard a thing, haven't received any order or communication. Their delivery calendar on their website is at best decoration, make believe (in order not say phantasy or lie) at worst.
So, after 2 months I haven't got a clue whether I will ever receive anything at all, but judging by the many other lousy ratings I won't keep my breath.
One way or another, it will be my first and last order here. I rather go back to my old suppliers.
Update 29.06.2024: No delivery so far, no direct and personal communication so far, upon my response to an automated enquiry still nothing whatsoever.

I have used The English Grocers on a number of occasions and whilst they are always late the goods have eventually arrived. However, this time I ordered the goods 2 months ago and there is no update. I have emailed and sent Wattsapp messages but no response, so sorry guys I have to resort to this. I will also look at legal options

Scammers and time wasters.
Order placed in February, no goods received withing 3 months.
No responses to emails.
Refund received within 2 hours of threatening with complaint to FCAB.

Der schlechste Laden das ich jemals erlebt habe. Total verpeilt, Bestellungen werden nicht korrekt geliefert, Kundendienst melden sich aber mit denen habe ich so Mitleid. Lieferungen sehr verzögert und kamen beschädigt oder falsch an, habe jetzt aufgegeben warte seit 3 Momaten auf ne Lieferung aber jetzt ist es mir egal sollen sie das Geld behalten und sich daran freuen. Eine absolte Katastrofe von Anfang bis Schluss. Vermeiden hoch 10!!!!!

Good quality pork arrived. Pleased to have hot cross buns again!

I wanted to remove a star for late delivery. But they kindly gave me extra goods to make up for it. Thank you English Grocer

Last Friday, after more than 3 months from the order I received the products at home. Unfortunately 8 glass jars out of 24 were broken due to the lack of adequate protection of the glass containers. No indications of “fragile”and of the correct stacking direction of the cardboard box. The English Grocer declared to be sorry for the incident and for the unusual delay in delivery and, as a compensation, proposed a store credit to be used for a future purchase. Appreciated. I will renew my trust in The English Grocer counting on a significant improvement in their shipping system. Five stars score pending…
