We had our solar panels installed in November 2021 by energymyway. In January we started looking at sourcing a battery for storing the electricity and asked Jeff Clarke from energymyway for his help. He always took a long time to respond and, on most occasions, I had to chase him.
We eventually decided to go to another company, Artisan Electrics, who came in and surveyed the work that was done and advised which battery we should install. When they came to install the battery, they discovered that of the 3 distribution boards that energymyway had put in only one was connected the other two weren't. Also the optimisers on the panels had not been mapped out. This meant that all the data we had been collecting for nearly a year was incorrect. Artisan Electrics then took a video of what energymyway had done as proof of their incompetence and connected the boards for us.
I then phoned Jeff Clarke and asked him to speak to Artisan Electrics who explained the situation. Jeff Clarke said that he would phone and apologise to Tim our owner but he never did. I then emailed Jeff and asked him if he there was any compensation that we could claim from his company as this has had a negative effect all round. He completely ignored my email and has never apologised to Tim.
I would not recommend this company. They are unprofessional and not willing to take responsibility for their mistakes. We paid 32k for these panels and have received a very poor service especially after the installation. They were very willing before and during but their aftercare is non-existent. As it is, we now have to get Artisan electrics to rectify their shoddy installation.
If you want to be ripped off then use energymyway. They won’t respond to your emails or take your calls but they’ll take your money. A bunch of cowboys!
I can confirm that we were compensated for this and the issues resolved.

Responsibility was taken for the issues raised and the client has been compensated. This occured during a period of illness that Jeff Clarke was suffering with and it is not the usual level of service Jeff Clarke or EnergyMyWay like to provide.
South East Operation is Excellent and Trustworthy.
Basically, when having solar installed, you're looking for a company that you can trust, is MCS and HEIS certified, isn't going bust any time soon, and offers a good price for the system that is right for you. EnergyMyWay fitted the bill for us. The South East region is run by Jamie. He's been running this region for over 10 years, is very friendly and gives excellent after sales support. He is knowledgeable and not at all pushy. I liked the company because they had the full range of certifications and came up with a reasonable price for a system that suited us. They are a franchise operation, so the experiences will perhaps vary around the country; but I have no hesitation of recommending Jamie if you live in Kent. The installers used are contracted; but very capable.

Made enquiries for air source heat pump, was given ball park figures 11 to 14k for 16kw Nibe system (their preferred choice )and told needed heat calcs that had to be paid 300 pounds in advance, calcs were carried out, they then increased cost to 15600 for a smaller 14kw mitsubushi system . They don’t seem to know the difference between zero vat and plus vat. Also enquired for solar etc . Never got costs .
These are franchises with this being run singlely by Joe from a call centre with seemingly limited knowledge.
Don’t pay any monies until you are sure what you are paying for!

We are sorry you are unhappy with the service we provided. We completed a heat loss calculation as requested, for the price which we agreed. Months later after waiting for the information to provided to us by yourself we were able to carry out a heatloss calculation. Only after the heatloss calculation had been completed were in a position to provide a quotation. During that time, whilst waiting for information from you the market had changed, products which had been available when we started our discussions were no longer readily available and suppliers accross the board had substantially increased their prices.
We initially discussed the feasibility of using heat pumps to heat the two properties that were being built in November 2021. At the time we discussed the option on the phone of installing a Nibe unit and discussed ball park installation figures which applied at the time to give you a rough idea of costings. This was to help you get an idea of what was possible, and not a commitment of any kind.
It was explained at the time that these are not quotations and the full system would be confirmed following a full room by room heat loss calculation for us to calculate exactly how much heat your properties would require. We completed this calculation as requested and charged for our time which was agreed before we did the work. Following the heat loss calculation we discovered that you needed a slightly larger heat pump than initially anticipated. We also needed to change the brand to a Mitsubishi unit as the Nibe heat pumps were no longer available due to worldwide supply issues.
The first full quotation was sent on 27th August 2022, 10 months after our initial discussion and a ball park figure given for a Nibe heat pump system. Since that discussion, the market had changed signifcantly, therefore we changed the specification to a manufacturer which was more readliy available.
We provide a heat loss report which for an agreed price, as a result of the heat loss report and passage of time the ball park figure given, 10 months earlier, was no longer valid. We then provided a quotation for a system that was sized correctly with equipment that was available.

During some building works for a loft extension, I needed to work out if I should/ could be relocating some of my existing solar panels to other roof areas. I inherited the system from a previous owner.
Jeff provided a very thorough, considered detailed response on what my options were. And it turned out the best answer was... leave as is and not spend any money!
I was very relieved to find someone so professional and knowledgeable. He responded promptly and in detail. I would recommend him to others and would have no hesitation in using him for anything to do with my existing installation should the need arise.
Please note, this is a review for Energy My Way Hertfordshire specifically - (as I understand it the different locations are separate trading branches and are not linked).
