Working with Emma has been a great…

Working with Emma has been a great experience! She tailors the plans to meet your goals and ensures you have lots of yummy recipes to choose from. The workouts are manageable and my results were amazing. I also never felt like it was too overwhelming or restrictive. If you are looking for an opportunity to create a balanced and healthy approach to eating/ working out, I would recommend this program!

Empower will change your life!

What can I say about Empower…. Just WOW. I always assumed this kind of thing on instagram was made up and so for ages I would see the ads and swipe past them. I had been on a weight loss journey for 2 years but had hit a stale mate - I couldn’t lose anymore or tone, no matter what I did. I decided to give empower a go after following Emma for a while and OMG it was the best decision I ever made! The hardest part for me was always going to be my crazy social life, eating out and drinking a lot. But what Emma and her team did was build me a plan that would enable me to shed the extra fat I had that I wasn’t happy with, but not have to sacrifice any fun and I sacrificed a single social occasion. I’ve gone from eating 1400 calories a day, gym 4 times a week with no progress, to 1600 calories a day, structured gym with no cardio 4 times a week, half a stone of FAT lost, 20CM of fat lost and eating more delicious food than I ever have before and still enjoying weekly nights out with alcohol and 2-3 course dinners. They have given me the ability, knowledge and mindset to make this my lifestyle for the rest of my life. But most importantly the confidence and happiness from liking my body finally is the best achievement of all. Thank you to empower for getting me out of a rut, best money I’ve ever spent and I would/do recommend them to everyone I know lol. These girls can change your life and are there for you every step of the way, just trust the process and put your all into it and COMMIT, let them educate you, do your steps, do your work outs, eat the amazing food they are going to give you and you will look and feel amazing in a matter of months.

Highly recommend

Highly recommend to anyone that wants, needs and is willing to work for that push they need. I have worked with Emma for just under a year and I can’t thank her and the empower team for everything they’ve done! My experience was slightly different to the usual as I started working with Emma to actually gain weight from being servilely underweight. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for the help, support and encouragement from Emma. It has been a difficult journey, a lot of ups , a lot of downs but I’m so greatful to be where I am today and I truly believe I couldn’t have done it myself.

Fabulous team of coaches who really…

Fabulous team of coaches who really care for you, which I have not found in coaching before. The app is amazing and really user friendly. Everything is in one place from your food ,workouts and chat with your coach.
Highly recommended.

The intention is good, but the execution is poor

The intention is good, but the execution is poor. I worked with Empower for 4 months (1 month was very kindly gifted after not seeing any results for the first 3 months!). To keep it short, I have to echo what others have said: it's not clear who you are talking to, the replies are very generic, the workouts/splits are too difficult to adhere to due to the lack of rest, and instead of advising on the issues I was having, I was simply given a new set of exercises or new calorie intake every other check in. And my food plans kept having stuff in them that I specifically said I did not eat :( It just did not help me at all in staying consistent, or in getting results.

Empower coaching

I’ve been working with Emma for about two years now and I really enjoyed almost every second of it! I really really love tracking macros and I think that is because how easy it was after working with Emma. One thing I can say I loved almost every single meal they were amazing they tasted awesome I just love them so much! I loved having weekly check-in’s from the pictures and just taking my body measurements and really talking with Emma about where I was and how I was feeling at that time. Overall I had a pretty good experience and I would be down to work with her again if I ever needed too!

Please do not start the program if you have eating disorder

Sadly my experience with Empower was terrible. After being in a calories deficit for almost 6 months I barely lost any weight and I was feeling constantly very tired and hungry. My mood was low. I was sleeping poorly. Since I was barely loosing weight, feeling bloated and constipated, Emma kept lowering my kcal intake. And I followed her recommendations. I was committed and I thought I could do it. Until I couldn’t and I broke and I felt into, the worst I’ve experienced so far, binging cycle. Emma has no professional training in treating binging disorder and the more she interacted with me the more anxious I felt. It’s over a month like we finished working together and I’m still recovering after toxic relationship I had with her. Recently I reached out to certified psycho dietitian that specializes in binging disorder and according to her calculations, calories intake that was recommended to me by Empower was lower than my Basal Metabolic Rate ( I was at ~1700 and my BMR is 1800). I cycle to work and hit the gym 5 times a week.
I was always a very active person and with Empower I started to hate gym and lifting weights and I would experience weekends where I couldn’t leave my bed as I was so tired.
Now I’m slowly recovering but the damage that was done… it’s extremely difficult for me to understand why someone would hurt anyone so much. It’s not even about the money. For many years I’ve been struggling with my relationship with food but what happened with Empower… I never thought it can be that bad.
If you are struggling with eating disorder I honestly do not recommend you starting this program.

This was my first experience with a…

This was my first experience with a trainer and I loved it. My biggest takeaways we’re focusing on CONSISTENCY > perfection. Emma and the empower team also give a lot of useful information about nutrition and how to balance diet and lifestyle: from a psychological perspective and the science of how much to eat etc. in order to be losing weight. Emma and empower come across extremely genuine and you feel supported and cared about. I was very happy with my results and left feeling inspired with more tools and knowledge. I think anyone could benefit from this program, working with someone else and having an outside perspective is super useful! I may be back again to work toward some different goals in the future. Thanks Empower :)

Don't recommend for experienced people

I would like to start by prefacing that Emma and her team are lovely and this review is nothing against them personally.

One of the below reviewers was right when they said that this coaching programme is not for experienced gym goers - it is definitely more beneficial for people who have no experience with the gym or with macros.

I started the programme because I saw her incredible transformations of clients online and I had a holiday coming up in 3 months time so I wanted 3 months focused on fat loss and then post-holiday, I wanted to focus on some muscle gain. When I sent her this information in the questionnaire, she came back and said I was going to do a body recomp instead. This made me a bit sceptical because I've been weightlifting and tracking my macros for years (as I stated in the questionnaire) and recomps work much better for newbie lifters. To no surprise, this body recomp didn't work at all. My weight stayed the same whilst my measurements were going up and glute measurements going down. I raised my concerns and their only answer was to add 1 x 30 minute cardio session a week. Again, this didn't do anything.

Despite telling them my constant worries that my holiday was getting closer and I hadn't lost any fat, they still refused to drop my calories. I ended up taking macros into my own hands and lost more weight in 2 weeks than I had with 2 and a hald months with empower.

As for the meal plans, my biggest annoyance with this is how they never updated it unless you specifically put your cravings into the weekly check in. For me, I never used to crave anything and when I asked if they could update my meal plan they told me that I needed to put in my cravings and they would add this into my meal plan. But I would have much prefered them to just re-fresh my meal plan every week or so to keep things interesting instead of eating the same things for 3 months. Despite this though, some of the meals were nice.

All in all, I feel like I've wasted a lot of money on empower (which isn't ideal in the middle of a cost of living crisis). I geuinely was so excited and thought I was going to finish with a lot of body confidence but this wasn't the case at all. If you have previous experience with the gym and macros, I highly recommend researching other online coaches first.

Best decision I could have made to join Empower

Joining Empower has honestly been the best choice I ever made this year!!
Initially I was very hesitant to make the decision but after discussing everything over the phone with one of the lovely Empower team members I knew that it would really help me with both nutrition and fitness goals.
Emma is absolutely lovely and was always there to support me, answer any questions and to motivate me when I was feeling low and if I had any slip ups. She never made me feel guilty if this was the case and is so so understanding of real life- she provides the most enjoyable workouts and delicious meal plans that work around a realistic working, busy life.
I have learnt to love fitness and food, and what is so special about Empower as opposed to other coaches is how specific and personalised and tailored everything is to the individual. Also, Emma teaches you the theory behind every strategy that is implemented (unlike other coaches where you just blindly follow what they have told you to do) and this has taught me so much about how to balance fitness sustainability so that I can now come out of Empower with so much more confidence in my own physique and a newfound confidence in how to tackle the fitness world solo!
Thank you so much Emma and her lovely team- I will definitely be returning if I have a new fitness goal in the future!!!💕

Overall great

I was with Empower Coaching for 6 months, but the last 3 months I got an injury. Because of this, I wasn't able to train properly. I had to take it very easy, couldn't progressively overload, sometimes I had to take a few weeks off training etc. Despite this, I saw great results and my body composition has really changed since starting with Empower! A lot of it, I believe was due to nutrition. Before starting with Empower I had no idea about macros, what my maintenance calories were etc. I was completely lost. So learning how much food and what kind of food my body needs was the biggest takeaway from my coaching journey. As soon as I started to track my macros, my body started to change. I was already familiar with strength training before joining, so the exercises were nothing new to me. It was good to have a plan though and to stick to it. I had to leave Empower as my injury got worse and I felt like I wanted to go off on my own so I can decide myself what and how much to train, how big of a surplus I want to be in etc.
Overall, my experience with Empower has been great, I've seen really great results and I'm blown away by how much my body has changed.
I would say though, that before joining, you have to be prepared to put in the work. It will not be easy. You need to do your steps, track your food (or stick to the meal plan), and you have to stick to your training plan. It's not a quick fix, it's a lifestyle change. If you're not prepared to work hard, you probably should think twice before joining.
My overall impression is that this is a great service but I also agree with others that it seems like they have too many clients. Sometimes the responses you get are a bit confusing, and sometimes, I was given exercises like deadlifts etc, despite the fact that I had stated in the beginning that I do not want to deadlifts due to my injury. No hard feelings though, but for the price you pay I think it would be better to take on less clients and give them full 100% attention. But to summarise - I have loved my time with Empower, it's truly changed my body and how I view myself - now I love my body and feel proud of it, and I no longer have these intense urges to restrict and binge. That is priceless to me. I definitely recommend Empower, just be prepared to work hard. You are the one who needs to put in the effort.

Avoid - there’s MUCH better out there!

This online training was absolutely awful. I committed to a 6 month plan, which was a massive mistake. In month 1 I asked a simple question, and got a strange response that had absolutely nothing to do with my question. When I kindly mentioned this in the Facebook group for clients, my post was deleted and right after, an admin approval was needed in order to post anything. I was actually trying to get support and my question answered from someone, instead I got ignored.
I tried it another month, but questions kept getting ignored and for $200 it absolutely was a waste of money. She’s very clearly overloaded with clients and seems to not have the time for them, yet can post on Instagram 100x’s per day. I kindly told Emma she just wasn’t the right fit for me as a coach but she’d just say “awww I’m sorry you feel that way, how come?” And when I’d respond it’d take her days to get back to me and then she’d say again “awww I’m sorry you feel that way.” It was clear she wasn’t going to let me cancel, so I had to go directly to the bank and get them to remove my auto pay as I wasn’t receiving what I had paid for.
Over an entire year later, somehow, my card ended up getting charged again. I had to go directly to the platform she uses for her app and make a compliant to them. I was quickly refunded.
Overall, the “training” seems to be a big scam but she’s very good at posting/advertising to make a lot of money off of people by getting them to sign up but then not delivering the service that was promised.

Emma is a fantastic coach who teaches…

Emma is a fantastic coach who teaches food freedom. That was the biggest takeaway for me, that I can eat Nutella for breakfast and if it is in moderation I will still see results.

Another benefit was the gym plan. I had not followed one in the past besides PTs and I now confidently go to the gym 5 times a week and have seen great strength improvements.
And can wrap up a workout routine in about an hour.

If you are a complete newbie Emma would be amazing for excellent educated advice that would prevent you from making the same mistakes as me, restricting on “bad” foods etc!
Again if you are gym educated, I still believe I learned a lot especially in relation to food.

I definitely would recommend Emma :)

She knows her stuff!

Emma is simply amazing! She has the knowledge about nutrition and how the body works to help people achieve their goals. I started weight lifting 5 years ago but this program is the only thing that has ever helped me achieve my goals. I met my goal weight and learned so much about what it truly means to be healthy. This girl knows what she’s doing! The meals are delicious and I could still indulge when I wanted to. She helped me understand the importance of balancing my macros and needing to actually eat more. I can’t recommend Empower enough!

A Fantastic Introduction to my Health & Fitness Journey

I couldn’t have asked for a better coach to kick-start my fitness and well-being journey again. For context, I gained a lot of weight during my first year of University and during the pandemic like a lot of people did, and previous to this I was always petite in my figure. This weight gain significantly impacted my mental health (and physical), so I decided to invest in my health and fitness again. I found Empower on Instagram and was instantly impressed with the fast responses and felt like they welcomed me with open arms. Through working with Emma & the Empower team, I successfully lost 8KG in a sustainable way and have built healthy habits in my food and fitness routines that I will continue to use. Couldn’t fault the experience I had with Empower, thank you so much Emma & the team🥰xx

Empower testimony

Empower testimony
I have steadily gained weight over the past few years since getting married and having 2 kids. I was very much in a bad habit in terms of dieting, where I would eat very very little during the week and then binge at the weekend. I struggled to loose any weight and if I did it went straight back on.
I joined empower back in January and it has been the best thing I’ve done for myself. I have lost almost 8kg and I am in the best shape of my life. Without Emma’s guidance I would never have thought I can eat some of my favourite foods, such as Mac and cheese, chicken curry, chicken wraps and oreo shakes whilst loosing weight. It has been amazing to see my progress each week and the weekly check in’s have really helped me stay focused. I run a preschool and have two kids so to have the meal plans all set out for me and the detailed workout plans have been fantastic. Emma has been brilliant and I would highly recommend Empower! I can’t thank them enough for the amazing support and guidance.

The missing piece to my fitness journey

I have been on my own fitness journey for nearly 5 years. I tried everything I could to “tone up” and reach my physique goals with little to no success. I would research for countless hours as to how to get fit and reach my goals. I thought I was doing everything perfectly, but nothing was working for me. I got into weightlifting and loved it, but I still wasn’t seeing any physical changes. I started with Emma not even three months ago and have seen more results than I have in 5 years. When other programs made me feel defective and hopeless, Emma’s program made results feel effortless. The meal plans were delicious and led me to realize that I could relax about the foods I was eating and there is not a single food one I have to avoid to get the desired results. I never felt hungry or deprived for the first time in years and the pounds were falling off. It’s still shocking to me to look in the mirror and love what I see. It feels so good to not have to worry about getting in a swim suit when my family wants to go to the pool. Stop the guess and check work and join empower to learn exactly what your body truly needs to obtain the results you want. I would recommend empower to any friend or family member looking to better their physique.

Recovering my pre-pandemic body

I came to Emma in January 2022 after putting on almost 20 pounds during the pandemic. I have always been super active but lockdown had its toll on me. I loved the meals from day one, easy to make, delicious and I never felt that I had cravings as I was having all the carbs I love. The workout routines were great as well and having to do our weekly checking with pictures and measurements was great as it kept me accountable. The days I didn’t follow the diet I didn’t feel guilty as the mentality around the program helps you change your mindset around food and your lifestyle. The app is fantastic and the communication with Emma was great. Would totally recommend this program to anyone that doesn’t know where to start their fitness journey. I now have the tools to continue the journey on my own and reach fitness goal, what I can say is that I finally feel like my old self again!

Waist of money and time.

My background:
Very experienced in gym and had both online coach for 5 years and personal trainers.
I have gained the weight I wanted quickly and wanted to work on bodyrecomp and a small trim down on my body.

Emma first put a program up with a split that made very little rest for the muscle to rest and get ready for next session. I complained and then she made a split program that I requested.
The basic exercises and build up on the program was for new beginners to the gym. It was a lot of banded exercises, that Is good for a warm or when you put it in In a program the reps range should be different.

I also questioned the reps range in the whole program where I usually go for 3-4 sets, and Emma's philosophy is that 2 can be more than good enough. Maybe she is right, but it does not suit me at all.

I missed a lot of basic exercises as biceps, triceps and core. For the core she said 2 "no need to use a lot of time of that".
A stable core is important for a lot of reasons, that I will not go into here.

I also asked if she could focus on my glutes more when building lower body (thighs specially). Her quick answer was - I don't want you to have any muscle imbalance.
She refers often to Bret Contreras and strange she did not even look into that he teaches how to do this.

And this is how I feel Emma was, just setting up some generic program that she thinks would fit all. I feel she was way to busy to customize something for her client.

I have been taking pictures every week since I started and actually my glutes ended up looking worse. I wanted to quit after the first month, then I did one more. Now I am so glad I went back to my old PT and getting the results I was looking for quickly.

Maybe good for a person to get started, for me it was a waist of time and money.
