Emotive is hands down, bar none, the worst company I've ever had the pleasure of working with/being stuck in a contract with. I've never been treated so horribly by a company, let alone one that I paid over $100k to. They do not care about their customers AT ALL, all they care about is collecting their next monthly payment. They also implement policies that are borderline illegal, or have become illegal since after they implemented these policies. For example, they will auto renew your annual contract, one worth $40,000+, without a single notification, email, or confirmation that this is happening. Which is considered illegal now, but unfortunately it became law after my contract renewal. I reached out one week after it was renewed stating that I did not want to renew my contract, and Emotive told me nope, we'll be collecting our $40,000 no matter what, even though what we did is now illegal, it wasn't at the time. Also, the clause in my contract about renewal WASNT EVEN IN THE CONTRACT. The contact had a small link to "additional terms", in which the auto renewal without notification terms were buried. Again, this one is borderline illegal and definitely unethical, and by design. And they stated that they'd rather get lawyers involved than let me cancel my contract because I missed the cancel deadline by 5 days. On top of that, they charge more for inferior tech than their competitors. If you're considered Emotive, run for the hills, please. This is a horrible, horrible company. As an ecommerce owner who's bootstrapped to 8 figures, I've been screwed over and locked into some terrible contracts, but no company I've ever worked with comes close to comparing with Emotive. I've never worked with such a terrible, unethical company. I can't stress enough how much I dislike emotive, and will be more than happy to elaborate on my experiences if any potential future customers want to chat.

The below response to my review from Emotive arrived after I had a lawyer reach out with a "Cease and Desist" and had not heard word back from them.

I was finally able to receive a refund but had a lawyer to do so. There were so many loops we had to jump through we actually found out we had been incorrectly billed even more than we initially thought. Emotive constantly tried to confuse us and seemed to barely have a grasp of their own contracts (or were blatantly lying to try to avoid refunding us).

We have had 3 very serious issues with this company

1. They initially encouraged emoji use and did not clarify EVERY emoji was billed as an MMS, essentially quadrupling what we thought we were spending. Did nothing to rectify the situation for us but finally added something showing how they’re charged
2. We were not happy with the service as we constantly kept have what felt like sneaky charges being added. We also found a cheaper more known brand that consolidated sms and email. They basically would not allow us to cancel essentially slashing rates to nothing to keep us. This infuriated me that we’d been so screwed on pricing for the past year. Also - they forced us to keep our contract the remaining 10 months paying $200/month. (Annoying but I should have been more diligent understanding our contract).
3. THEN 6 months into entirely not using the service they charge me a random $20 for a “carrier fee” and have absolutely refused to refund.

Emotive is a scam or desperate for cash. Either way stay far, far away. There are so many reputable companies with better pricing.

Very easy to set up and run simple campaigns. Analytics lets you assess how campaigns perform clearly. No issues so far.

Emotive has been a great asset for us to run our SMS marketing campaigns. Our Success Manager has been very proactive and helpful, providing us quick solutions when we have issues and consistently sending us ideas for campaigns.

We've seen great results and it's easy to use. We enjoy using Emotive.

Love working with this team. The setup was very guided and they are all very supportive. We feel great knowing we have a team behind us.

Our CSM never fails to make each sync-up session worthwhile. He provides different strategy ideas in both Experiences and broadcasts. I'm a fan!

You guys have really created an excellent product and have a great support team. Easy to use and very intuitive.

Emotive is simple to use as this has allowed us to reach out customers in a more direct manner which has resulted in constant conversion for our brand. The support staff is also great!

Emotive is a great platform that is very easy to use. I love being able to receive broadcast guides too as it can be super hard to think of creative for every blast we send. This platform is way better than any other texting platform I have used throughout my career. I think that anyone who uses Emotive would benefit greatly as they are always reaching out to make sure you are ok and I love that they provide updates that will help you to succeed.

Emotive has the best account managers ever. I feel I have a whole team working with me!

Great service that meets our teams needs. Somewhat limited but does what we need it to at the minimum. Our account rep meets with us weekly and is quite knowledgable.

Very responsive to customer needs. My CSM, Renee, provides assistance in a way that does not make our brand feel like just another customer. Emotive is quite intuitive and easy to use.

Emotive is a great platform! Not only did they help my brand but my Customer success manager went out of his way to help my brand in other aspects of marketing outside of sms. I've learned a lot since joining and cant wait to see what the future holds for emotive.

We utilized Emotive to get our online business's SMS marketing channel off the ground. The integration was extremely easy compared to competitors and we started experiencing immediate results.

I would definitely recommend Emotive to a colleague. We find it a useful tool and we're very happy that we work with Emotive. Our CSM is the BEST. She's literally the best CSM we've ever had - across every platform we use. It's easy and user friendly.
