"This will be the 2nd use of Ellis Products for DIY projects around the house. I used the STL-8 to lift the corner of my screen porch for which I repaired 7 years ago with pavers and has sunk down over time.Today I decided to do a proper repair and it turned out great!"

I ordered two adjustable jack posts to support a load-bearing wall in my home. They arrived damaged in transit, and both posts were unusable—out of plumb, with chipped coating and one wobbled on its base.

Each unit weighs 11 pounds, but they were shipped together in a thin cardboard box with no apparent internal padding. The box appeared to have ripped open in transit and they both looked pretty banged up when they got here.

I got in touch with customer support and sent photos with a level reference to show my supports were out of plumb. Customer service initially advised me to use the damaged supports anyway!!! Then the rep offered a replacement or refund, but also noted that replacements might arrive in similar condition. The rep attributed the issue to the shipping carrier. That response did not give me confidence that the outcome would be better next time around, so I chose a refund.

A more knowledgeable response to structural concerns would have improved my experience. 2 stars instead of 1 because they did pay return shipping and issue the refund in a timely manner.

I asked what type of supports would be necessary to lift a building. I’m currently gathering photos and measurements to send. Troy was very helpful.

Ellis Manufacturing is always a great resource when it comes to all of our temporary or permanent shoring and stabilization projects. They are helpful and always willing to give additional information when trying to plan for projects.

I have used Ellis jacks to raise and support the floor in our house- solid and secure these are the absolute best product out there. Don't trust what may be your biggest investment to anything else. Made in USA too!

I purchased Ellis shoring posts a few years ago for a difficult job and they worked exceptionally well. I find myself using them often on my projects. I even have some contractor friends who ask if they can use them on occasion. I recently purchased the shoring clamps for 4x4 and used the post in combination with the shoring posts to hold up the roof so I could remove the deck below. It made the job much easier.
