They can let you walk straight into a wall and never say a word.
Ekur formed my US company and handles my federal tax filings. In July 2026, the IRS sent a letter (Letter 4087C) saying the return Ekur itself prepared and submitted was missing an original signature, with a strict 30-day window to fix it or risk penalties, an increased tax bill, or a reduced refund.
Ekur never told me. I only found out because I happened to check my mail myself. For a service whose entire job is to keep a foreign-owned US company compliant, that's not a minor slip, it means they will let a real IRS deadline blow past in silence and leave you to discover the risk on your own.
Once I chased them (Friday email, Monday follow-up, still nothing), it took nearly a week to get a reply, and it was a generic "don't worry, we'll take care of it soon" with none of my actual questions answered: why the signature was missing, whether they hold a valid Power of Attorney, or when it would actually be done. Weeks later, after more follow-ups, I still have no written confirmation that the IRS matter is closed.
What worries me even more: Ekur also handled my brand/trademark registration. The same silence that let an IRS deadline slip could just as easily let a brand or trademark deadline lapse without warning, and for a business selling under that brand, that's not something you can afford to find out too late.
If you're running a real business on top of what Ekur manages for you, think twice: their silence isn't reassuring, it's the problem. That's not a service I can trust with something as critical as IRS compliance or brand protection.
