Kristel was the BEST tour guide! I am not usually a big fan of guided tours, but this was an incredible experience and I am SO glad we chose EDI Tours! I have been to Edinburgh castle at least 3 other times, but never got to learn about the history in such a fun way. We did this right after a 16 hour travel day and Kristel was able to keep us and our 11 yr old engaged, entertained, and laughing. I certainly did not expect to have so much fun. Will bring all my family and friends when we come back to Edinburgh! Thanks Kristel! Communication and accommodation by the company was also incredible!

We were fortunate enough to have a small group on our tour. As it was only the 2 of us we were able to ask a lot more questions and receive a lot more information, we were even able to hear some reccomendations for other tours as well as any local food recs. Our tour guide was Kristel, she is not only knowledgeable but very charismatic, down-to-earth and resourceful, her knowledge of scotland far exceeded that of just the castle, the town, and the hill the castle is on. For a tour I didnt know was 2hrs I felt like a learnt a week’s worth in great depth and quality, it was an amazing experience for my first time in Scotland and if your lucky enough to get Kristel as a tour guide, you won’t regret it.

We booked a whisky tasting at the Waverley Bar and honestly didn’t know what to expect - but I can tell you it was so much fun! John was an amazing guide and as cliche as it sounds, he really does take you on a journey after which you come out with a deeper appreciation for both whisky and Scotland. He was quite knowledgeable, nice and funny and I highly recommend this to both locals and tourists alike. Would do it again!

Steffi is a great storyteller. She is outstanding, has great humour and knowledge about the great Scottish history.

The tour of Edinburgh Castle by John was amazing! He is so knowledgeable and really made the stories, the history, come to life. John is very engaging and fun! The only thing I would change is for it to be longer. 2 hours was just not enough time with a fantastic guide! 10/10.

Could we give more than 5 stars?!?!
John is brilliant. Warn welcome, great whisky tasting, learned a lot in the most open way. I highly recommend it to anyone who does not know about the whisky and more (…about the town and Scotland in general).
We couldn’t feel more welcomed in Edinburgh, thanks to John’s. Iconic, historical pub with locals.

John was fantastic! We did the whisky tasting with him and it couldn’t have been better - it felt like we were having a conversation with a friend. He explained all the history behind whisky in Scotland which such a passion and care that it felt contagious - he answered all our questions and gave us so many recommendations. Whether you’re thinking of booking the whisky tasting or any other tour I can totally say you’ll have a great time!

Krystel was so amazing to have as a tour guide. She was so knowledgeable, and very respectful to the other tours going on in Edinburgh at the same time. She made sure we could all hear her, and she answered any of our questions we brought up. Her enthusiasm and passion for history and the culture of Scotland was amazing. She was insightful, entertaining, enthusiastic, and made the trip so memorable. I can’t say enough great things about the two tours we took. She gave us the Harry Potter tour, which was just incredible, and I’m so glad I got to learn more about it. And then the next day we took the city tour. It was awesome. I can’t recommend her enough!

We were on a group tour with Kristel she was very informative took us all around Edinburgh shared alot of history with us and her personality was wonderful. I would recommend her and if I get a chance to go to Edinburgh again I would definitely book with her again.

Kristel is a brilliant guide, fully engaging you on a two-hour tour of Edinburgh Castle that genuinely seems to fly. There was never an idle moment and Kristel seems to be a never-ending source of historical facts and trivia. Our tour was both informative and entertaining. Five stars!

Naomi was amazing - had great knowledge of the histories surrounding each region and Scotland as a whole. Definitely a highlight of our trip, would absolutely book again.

We took the Edinburgh castle tour with Kristel and it was AWESOME. She was the best! It was informative and fun and she gave great recommendations. Do yourself a favor and book with this group - you will not be disappointed.

A really good guide!

We had an excellent tour with Kristel explaining the history of Scotland, Edinburgh and the Castle.
Kristel was very knowledgeable and made the tour very interesting and pleasant…I finally think I understood the different royal families in Scotland.
