Cojitambo – Alpaca Wool Throw Blanket – Queen / Queen Plus – Multicolor Stripes – Anmeldelser

Soft Baby Alpaca. Pastel Stripes. Handmade in Otavalo. Cojitambo is soft in every sense: gentle pastel stripes of green, peach and beige on a baby alpaca-blend throw. Named after the hill of Cojitambo in Cañar, home to pre-Inca ruins, this blanket is woven by hand in Otavalo, Ecuador — the textile capital of the Andes — from a baby alpaca wool blend — baby alpaca is finer and softer than regular alpaca and naturally lanolin-free and gentle on sensitive skin. It washes easily and dries fast, which is why customers who buy one usually come back for a second. Why you’ll love it Baby alpaca – soft, smooth and naturally lanolin-free Warm without weight – winter nights and summer evenings alike Queen size – covers the bed or two people on the sofa Easy care – washes well and dries fast Hand-woven in Otavalo – fair-trade artisan work from Ecuador Details Material: 80% baby alpaca / 20% acrylic — the acrylic keeps the blanket soft, washable and in shape for years Queen: 95" x 67" (242 x 170 cm), approx. 780 g / 1.75 lb Queen Plus: 100" x 71" (254 x 180 cm), approx. 900 g / 2 lb Weight: see sizes above Colours: Pastel multicolour stripes Made in: Otavalo, Ecuador — fair trade, artisan woven “Baby alpaca” is the name of the finest grade of alpaca fibre, not the age of the animal — alpacas are shorn once a year, like sheep. And it is not a blanket for babies: this is a full-size adult blanket. Warmth & fit Lightweight warmth: alpaca insulates far better than its weight suggests, so this blanket is warm on a winter night yet comfortable as a summer throw. Large enough to cover a queen bed as a top layer or two people on the sofa. Care Hand wash cold with a mild detergent (or delicate cycle in a mesh bag) Do not bleach or tumble dry Lay flat or hang with support to dry, out of direct sun Steam or low iron with a cloth if needed Handmade, so no two are identical. Each piece is woven and dyed by hand in Otavalo, Ecuador. Colours can be a shade lighter or darker than on screen, and fringe and pattern placement vary slightly — that is the signature of a real artisan piece, not a flaw. Shipping & gift.
