Not only are the company questionable on how eco-friendly they are, but the design on the washing up liquid bottles is horrendous. It just constantly slips out of your hand and spills everywhere.

Great Products
Easy to order & speedy delivery and love the products. The laundry detergent & fabric conditioner smells amazing, also more importantly not harming the environment.

Ecover laundry products
They arrived safely and were well packed.
My only complaint is about the weight of the box. I was unable to bring this in from my front door because it was too heavy. I can’t easily bend but the only way to empty the box was to remove 1 item, then rest and try another 1 hr later.

Love this natural product. Have been using it religiously for 7 years now and buy in bulk.

Poor washing up experience
I have used their products for years but lately have noticed the performance of the washing up liquid is very poor. I find myself using a huge amount of liquid to get bubbles that last around 1-2 minutes before needing a lot more and often a change of water, so that's not great when we're trying to conserve water. I'm in a hard water area so maybe that is a contributing factor 😕

Excellent products
Excellent products, quick delivery. The minimum order value for free delivery is quite high though, so you end up having to pay for delivery unless you order loads.

Ecover present themselves as…
Ecover present themselves as "ecologically motivated" but it turns out when buying from them that the goods are shipped from Europe. No problem per se to be trading internationally, but it's poor carbon footprint management. It would make better sense to ship in bulk across borders (on ISO-container scale) then decant/process locally. Furthermore, ecover is just a trading name of The Big Green Smile which is a member of B Corp, whereas ecover is presented as not a B Corp member. I'm sure they've worked hard to achieve B Corp membership but it's a quite a sinister arrangement and I generally avoid firms caught within B Corp gravity. See Spiked Online 5/3/24 for more info on this matter, search "B Corp"

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
In answer to your questions and concerns - Ecover products are manufactured in Belgium, just five minutes from the Big Green Smile warehouse. This close proximity means transport emissions are minimal compared to longer-distance imports. Additionally, Big Green Smile offset the carbon from deliveries through a third-party verified scheme—something Big Green Smile are proud to invest in as part of their wider sustainability commitments.
While Ecover is stocked and distributed by Big Green Smile in the UK, it remains a separate brand. Big Green Smile, as you noted, is a B Corp certified company—one of many retailers who choose to work with sustainable, ethical brands like Ecover. We’re transparent about these relationships and always aim to keep customers informed.
We respect that B Corp isn’t for everyone, but for many it’s a valuable framework for continual improvement. We appreciate your perspective and will pass your comments on to the relevant teams.
