I'm a little disappointed as I used DriveScore for a year and I managed to get a hard score of 989. Then I get a quote for insurance and it was more expensive than without this score. Not worthy to use it.

Let’s me know if I am making any mistakes

Overall a great little program, there are how ever a few little niggles that personally i would change. The app is accurate on most roads as far as speed limits, so far i have had no issues there, i ride a motorcycle and sometimes this entails a quick acceleration to go past, round an object, vehicle or situation, the app records this in a negative mode, for those out there who know the highway code we are allowed to accelerate briefly over the limit to avoid these previously mentioned items. That being said i would recommend this not only for any benefits financially but for continuous monitoring something many people dont do after passing a test and throwing away those L plates. Give it a go it cant hurt you and you may become a better driver/rider for it

It's making it clear to understand.

The app was very glitchy and only recorded parts of journeys. The app claimed I was speeding but it had the speed limit for that particular road incorrect. My son holds my phone while I drive and the app wrongly thought I was touching it while driving. The app couldn't tell the difference between a car and a train or bus. There's far better ways to correctly monitor your driving and of the bunch I've tested this was without doubt the poorest performer on every level.

Great app to hone driving score and does help to get you thinking about how you drive but......
As for saving money on car insurance! watch out, they limit their search and when you get quotes from expensive companies, that they then get savings on, the net effect is far bigger than it would have been just shopping around anyway. Bit of a con really, sadly

Generally I really like this app. I think the scoring seems to be fairly accurate.
There is is one major bugbear though and that's it can't distinguish between using your mobile phone if you're a passenger. I got marked down points because I used my phone when I was just a passenger. Otherwise it's a good tool and deserves 4/5 stars
UPDATE
It turns out there is a way to edit whether you were driving or passengering - and indicate whether you were distracted by using your mobile phone while driving or not. That facility is possibly open to abuse but on the whole I like the app and if it saves me money at insurance renewal time then that's a good thing.

It’s great to see my score ! And as I am 83 it just gives me a lift to know that some pensioners are safe drivers.

This is a helpful tool it's a significant way in monitoring driving awareness
And how this can help with the cost of insurance policies especially for new drivers making them aware of there driving abilities.

It’s brilliant as it really makes you think about how you drive at all times 👍

None intrusive, and helps point out any mistakes you may be making. But biggest bonus of all, was participation got me a much lower insurance quote than all the comparison sites.

This app definitely helps you be a safer driver I use it all the time and have done for over a year or so, I have added my wife & Daughter also my Granddaughter who all try to beat each other with the point score.
I started off around 700 score that’s not bad but after careful driving and trying to improve my score I am now up to 1000 top marks for driving, this also helps you with your Car Insurance, so download the app and compete with your family to show who is the best driver and maybe you could save on your best insurance quote by sharing your experience and score with insurers, Good luck and safe driving.

It would be beneficial if they actually paid attention to information. Required to add car registration into account - from this it's evident that my car was registered within the last 10 months (even without checking DVLA) yet every time I go into the app I get ad's suggesting I upgrade a car that's less than a year old - why? Otherwise functionality of the app is reasonable in that you can amend registered trips to show that you weren't the driver (or used a bus etc.) Occasionally the app doesn't actually record "drives".
