Driveaway poor customer service
Went to pick up the motorhome from the Perth depot, the motorhome had items missing and was dirty, we had to get someone to clean inside before we could leave, the vehicle dash said it was overdue a service but wr were assured it had had one.
We were supposed to drop off at Darwin but because of heavy rains and cyclone Narelle the road at Katherine was closed and we couldn't take the vehicle through to Darwin.
We had to leave the vehicle early at Broome and Driveaway were less than helpful not offering any refunds for lost days on our hire contract even though there was no fault on our behalf.
I will not use Driveaway again and nor will I recommend them to anyone else
using Driveaway for more than 20 years

I am a longstanding customer with Driveaway and happy to do so. Unfortunately, with me recent rental in Darwin, NOT HPAPY the way I have been charged as below items:
“Dear Seyit,
Thank you for your call and email in relation to this booking.
Further to our discussion, I can confirm you have been charged as follows by Europcar:
Customer Choice (Upgrade Fee) 6 Days x $15.00 p/day = $90.00
Additional mileage 445km’s at $0.32 p/km p/day = $142.40
Admin Fee 3.5% $8.13
Airport/Location Fee 25% $60.13
Credit card Fee 0.93% $3.08
GST 10% $30.37
Total $334.11 on 19 March 25
The prepaid voucher advised this rental had limited mileage included and exceeding that, there would be an additional charge for each km after that:
* Premium Location Surcharge: Included in rates , will still be applied to any local fees. The amount depends on pick up location up to38 %.
* Includes 100 Km per Day , any additional will be charged at 0.32 AUD/ Km plus VAT, paid locally
I have now contacted Europcar to provide the relevant documents requested and will be in contact as soon as I have received a response.
Please note supplier response times can sometimes vary between approx. 14-21 business days at this time.

I normally rented car with Driveaway websites with my membership, then ended up with Europcar rental. I have been pushed to upgrade the car, then after without correctly explanation of the MILAGE limitations and other expenses I have been changer extra $334 including upgrade car and some other ridiculous chargers. The original rent amount was $227 then added $334, this is unfair business.
I am expecting the refund of the half of the Europcar charges, alternatively I will lodge the AFCA case. Please review the charges then let me know.
