DrChrono’s iPad and iPhone compatible EHR and medical billing platform allows users to manage patient intake, clinical charting, billing, and revenue cycle management. It includes customizable medical forms, e-prescribing, scheduling tools, real-time patient eligibility checks, and a patient portal. The DrChrono App Directory also offers a multitude of apps and a medical API for healthcare app developers. The DrChrono EHR offers fully customizable forms or prebuilt forms. Any prescription, including Electronic Prescribing Controlled Substances, can be sent electronically on iPhone, iPad, or the Internet. Lab orders can be submitted electronically to over 40,000 labs around the United States; results can then be directly uploaded into the patient’s chart. Custom vitals give providers the ability to create baseline health data and monitor each patient’s health measurements over time. Providers can use Free Draw function to annotate on diagrams, x-rays or other files; they can also use the iPad's built-in cameras to take pictures and embed them in the patient's record. The system comes pre-populated with billing codes and is integrated with Box, a HIPAA-compliant cloud storage system.

Don’t trust Jonathan
Don’t trust Jonathan. Sold me this. Never offered me a demo. Then said I signed for a year and will not terminate before ever adding in a single patient. Weeks to even get set up. Then they spell my name wrong. Have yet to fix it. Causing more errors and I cannot be verified since my name is wrong. They added my middle name to my first name. Cannot link to stripe. Cannot link to anything. They still bully me saying I have to wait a whole year which is 4,000$. Do not go for them. No support. No one ever answers. They don’t let me speak to a manager. Run while you can

Not surprised to find how terrible these reviews are. What a garbage program. 1 star reviews for at least a year with no improvement....yikes.

If I could give this company zero stars I would there is NO real support and if you have a new employee who needs help they will charge you for this, this company is a joke
Leaving/making changes is extremely difficult
Please be aware that their contract is like handcuffs. You must provide 30 days notice prior to your contract renewal date or you must keep the service and continue to pay for it for an entire additional year. This also applies to if you have providers who leave your practice and aren't replaced-- you must continue to pay for them until contract renewal time, which is understandable; I could accept that. However, the wild thing is that if you give less than 30 days prior to your contract renewal date, you cannot stop using Dr. Chrono or stop paying for those providers for an ENTIRE ADDITIONAL YEAR.

Absolutely aweful service
Absolutely aweful service. You can never get a person. They changed the format and it is atrocious! They obviously did NOT beta test. You can't get anything but a BOT to help you. Do NOT choose this platform. UGH!
A Total Disappointment After 5+ Years. Stay Away.
I’ve been using DrChrono for over 5 years, and I can confidently say it’s been one of the most frustrating and disappointing decisions I’ve made for my practice. From day one, their system has been unreliable, and their support nearly nonexistent.
One of the biggest issues has been with billing. I was never properly trained on how to use their billing system. When I asked for help, they tried to charge me extra just to receive training that should have been included. To this day, I have never successfully submitted a medical claim through DrChrono that resulted in payment. That’s unacceptable.
On top of that, lab ordering is a mess. I created a Labcorp account as instructed, yet I’m still unable to order labs. No one has ever followed up to help. Their AI help desk “Dr. C” is completely useless, and there is no phone number to reach a real person. Any support tickets or complaints take at least 3 business days to get a response—by then, patients are already upset and gone.
This review is my final attempt to get someone from DrChrono to resolve these issues, because no one is reachable. For what they charge, the service is beyond unacceptable. They deserve no stars at all—if I could give them zero, I would.
Physicians: save yourself the money, time, and headache. Do not sign up with DrChrono. Look elsewhere.
Stay away from drchrono
drchrono is quick to make the sale, then the rest goes downhill. Submit trouble tickets and they might get resolved and they might not. You get a Rep assigned to you, but they are MIA and can never take your call. You have to submit a trouble ticket for everything. Most of the time when they do call you back, the issue doesn't get resolved, but don't worry - they'll escalate it and you'll never hear from them again. We pull financials daily and the Day Sheet goes into the Message Center which every employee has access to (for faxes, other messages, etc). How would you like to share your daily financials with every employee? I'm sure the answer is NO! I would NEVER invest in them again, but we are too far in this EHR system. We have outgrown them, while they stay stagnant. Oh, and did I mention their lag time is extremely sloowww?
This EHR is one big money grab
This EHR is one big money grab. When a provider leaves the practice, you have to continue paying their monthly subscription until your yearly renewal date. Also, the telehealth platform is terrible and glitchy. They make patients reset their password every month or something ridiculous, and it needs to be a very complicated password, so we always have patients unable to log on to their appts on time. There are so many add ons that cost a lot of money. Customer service was OK but has gotten a lot worse recently. There are so many glitches, especially with billing that make patient's balances incorrect, and they ignore the inquiry if they don't know the answer. When pushed, they say they are working on it, but it doesn't ever get fixed. The frequency of problems has significantly increased recently. If it wasn't so difficult to switch EHRs, we would not give them our business.
Worst EHR
It was great 6 years ago. Now it's incredibly buggy. The site is down at least 1-2 times a month for >24 hours, and literally NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. Price increase of 35% in last 3 years. Total garbage of an EHR- worthless patient portal is not usable. Had to use a separate one that is not integrated. CHOOSE ANY OTHER EHR
Drchrono has collapsed--do not use.
Been a customer since year one--nearly 15 years ago--but will terminate service. Monthly fee has increased by 50% in the past 24 months. There is no customer service at all. The product quality has declined. This company has become a total disgrace.

Do Not Use this company
Like everyone else on here they are horrible at billing. They decided not to charge us out of the blew and then stopped allowing us to charge cards so every charge went pending. They then stopped answering phone calls and were unable to perform the simple task of charging our card and turning our stripe access back on. This is at the end of the year when I was counting on the money collected to pre pay taxes and is going to cost me tens of thousands of dollars. They have completely outsourced everything except the sales team (total bait and switch) to India so the few correspondences you do get are often looking for you to restate the obvious due to their lack of understanding of the English language.
EHR Nightmare
I am in the middle of an EHR change, so you know I don't have time to stop and write a review. But Dr Chrono is SO BAD that I have to do whatever I can to warn anyone away from them! Initially, things were ok and we dealt with some limited functionality. But since they changed ownership, THE SYSTEM AND THE SERVICE HAVE GONE FROM BAD TO HORRIBLE!!!!!! Constant glitches, reloads, faxes not sending, instability and crashes during clinic are unacceptable in and of themselves. Then you add in the COMPLETE LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. You now can not speak to anyone. Any question has to be a ticket and there is no way to see your history of tickets or if a ticket has even been responded to. To try to follow up you have to go back into your email and try to track down the original ticket number. You know, the one that says they will get back with you in 24 hrs and it's 8 days later and you are spending time trying to find the email. IT IS BEYOND INSANE. And now that I am changing, I can't get anyone to help me with data migration. They just send me links to useless articles and offer no help at all when I have repeatedly expressed the urgency and time sensitive nature of my requests. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THAT ANY PRACTICE USE THIS COMPANY.
Money Thieves!!!
Worse Company! They Did not want to cancel our subscription!! Had to stop payments with our bank. They lied saying my contract was until 2024, that is untrue my contract was signed in 2020
After that they would not let us cancel! They never responded to any of our emails! The only time they responded is when we put stop payments with our bank!

We have been using Drchrono for almost 7 years and now are in the process of switching to AthenaHelath. Drchrono has gone down hill in the past few years and after the ownership changed. They moved their team to India and since then customer service has become nonexistent. As a healthcare professional I strongly suggest to steer clear from this company.
terrible service outsourced and just doesn't work
This company has followed suit with many companies in this nation. They convince you they will work and that you have support and then they pass the buck to someone else every time. I have worked with this company for years with 4 different practices since they were new a few months old. I thought about having the software for my company because initially they cared, back when they started and they actually got things done, and fixed the software glitches. I wound up having to leave the company because they broke contract, didn't care, basically had you set up the software yourself without any help and then intentionally sabatoge the set up and blame you. Intentionally lock you out of areas where you cant operate. That is my current frustration. The company changed, the stripe account changed and there is an email address Dr. Chrono has clearly locked that can't be changed. They pass the buck- email pay simple (who they contract with) but it doesn't even make sense. And who they contract with if it is a setting from paysimple should be able to just click a button. We've been trying to take payment in the software now for 7 weeks. Owner of the company told its ready to go. I am told its ready to go but no, they don't know their own software. Names are all outsourced, not actual computer people that know anything. Understand, I'm computer savvy, no computer degree but I know more than the people trying to help me as a medical professional that has simply charted for 14 years. Oh and they just close out cases. Just close them. Don't communicate, deem the issue solved. It is the most horrific experience for someone trying to work and manage a practice. I would give them no stars if I could. The software was decent once upon a time when the owners or someone actually cared about the company. I'll be at upcoming medical conferences, not to worry and talk everyone I can to going to a free software program or elsewhere. There isn't time to babysit, turn the button off, make it where it can be set up correctly and stop wasting busy professionals time.
Small Acupuncture business owner here
Small Acupuncture business owner here. Dr Chrono has been a consistent thorn in my side ever since starting to use it. Their customer service and set up was a very far cry from the service that I was promised by their sales people. I was supposed to get multiple discounts upon signing up, and only received one as they cleverly worded their email to subject me to their lies.
Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service. They don't get back to you for WEEKS and WEEKS. They had a data breach and didn't recompense their customers for the multiple issues that came up from this, including lost business.
The worst part of it is I recently had to close my business due to a major car accident, and when I informed them of this, they basically said they couldn't care less and are still forcing me to pay out the rest of my contract, even though I can't work and don't have money to give them. I would love to be a part of any class action lawsuit against this unmoral and inhuman company.
DrChrono is by far the worst ehr system…
DrChrono is by far the worst ehr system on the planet. They continue to try and mess with their product and update things (always the wrong things), and change things (always unnecessary things). They need to just leave the system alone and update the areas needed and stop trying to make it something it's not. The product they have could be amazing but oh so many days I cannot get anything done because it crashes and it takes them FOREVER to fix the issue.
Class action lawsuit?
This company has cost me thousands because of faulty billing, software, and a complete lack of customer service. I am out tens of thousands due to their lack of communication and implementation to another clearinghouse after the cyberattack. Now due to timely filing, many claims won't be paid. They've pretty much ghosted me. I think they have 3 people on staff total. I am furious. Anyone else have these issues and know if they can be held responsible?
