I left note on my online purchase if it can be delivered to third floor, you didn't reply.

Last Wednesday, I received delivery confirmation by email. I emailed back exactly like the following.

I will be home alone I cannot bring them up to third floor. I told this to James.
There was no reply again.
I have never cancelled the delivery.

You cancelled the delivery without letting me know.

My floor fitter was waiting for almost 6 hours. It was cold and raining.

You should be ashamed for your irresponsible, rude and un-ethical behavior.

I was promised that I ordered skirting and trims would be delivered tomorrow. Ten minutes ago I phoned James from Hamilton, he reassured me my order would be delivered tomorrow.
Their distribution company phoned me my order has to be delivered by this Friday. I explained them that I paid for my builder coming tomorrow and I won't be home this Friday.
James asked me to cancel my order but I will be charged for delivery fees. He then left when we were talking over the phone.
Cannot be so rude.

The customer service was excellent by a follow-up call after ordering and providing options for delivery. Although the delivery message by the courier was a bit confusing, the customer service was very helpful to fix the problem. The delivery was in time and the wood flooring is beautiful! :-)

We have had two lots of work done several years ago. Wooden and Quickstep flooring, both jobs were carried out professionally and courteously. I have just been to see them regarding a small problem with the wooden floor ( of our making) and received all the help and advice I needed. Excellent service.

My wife and I wanted something a little special for our home having waited a number of years to refurbish our property and having viewed Hamiltons Doors and Floors website decided to give them a visit. Company Director Jaeger Hamilton guided me through the process and gave me excellent advice, so promptly booked a visit to our home and assessed the work entailed giving unbiased advice thro' to sending the quote. A provisional fitting date was given however due to our other contractors had had to delay the flooring fitment as a result, Jaeger was very accommodating and worked around our timeline which took a lot of unnecessary pressure and worry off ourselves, the flooring and skirting was installed by Danny the carpenter, who expertly boxed in our central heating pipework where needed, brilliant chap, very pleasant, extremely tidy and beautifully installed , we'd chosen the Palazzo Cinnamon engineered wood flooring and Kahrs vinyl tiling for the kitchen, perfect choice which Jaeger advised myself would complement our property so nicely, so much so my wife and I can't help but enjoy entering our property as its truly turned it into a welcoming home now, so we cannot think of recommending a more friendly, accommodating and professional company offering outstanding products , advice and quality workmanship, so if I was you give Jaeger a call you certainly won't be disappointed.

Spent about £1000 with doors and floors for some new doors. I’ve had a problem with one of them going a bit green on the outside between my hall and front porch door. I emailed them about the problem and asked them to comment but I’ve heard absolutely nothing after a week, All I was asking for was for them to comment and see if there was anything I could do about it and if anybody else commented about the same problem.

Excellent company. Customer service faultless. Briony was brilliant - answered emails rapidly, sorted out our order and organised a fast and efficient delivery. After contacting at least 10 flooring suppliers I was unable to find anyone who was able to help me source a particular board type that I have.
Fortunately Hamiltons were willing to take the time and had the knowledge to identify my flooring and supplied me the correct boards within the week.

This is one to avoid . The googles reviews are all false first of all .their website although looks professional it is a salesman named cameron working from his house all it does is being a middleman you think you are dealing with a big company but in reality is just a middleman . Look at company house record got evidence .
I paid £1600 plus placed order on thursday and told they would send express delivery that would only take 2 to 3 working day but not to worry because they also deliver saturday so was told would be with us monday latest tuesday . Well monday passed tuesday came and no sign send message and called cameron who ignored messages after reading them and did not reply to me for 3 hours . Eventually he decide to reply saying we should hopefully get wednesday but he could not promise as the flooring had not left the warehouse yet . Having joiners waiting from monday and having to pay them i cancelled the order as i could not afford to keep them holding on from other jobs and bought same flooring from a local at £500 cheaper .
When asked for a refund to cameron he is saying one that he will do it when it can which goes against their term and conditions and 2 thst he woukd charge me £60 for cancelling even though flooring never left their warehouse and missed his promise of 2 or 3 express delivery . Now having to get bank and lawyer involved to get sorted.
Please please dont let this guy con you .stay clear of his business

Excellent. Briony was extremely helpful in providing me with information on the amount of stock they had for Quickstep Palazzo Cinnamon Oak, as it was not available from other suppliers and Quickstep themselves informed me that they did not know when stock would be imported into the UK. The delivery was very fast and the delivery man extremely friendly and helpful. As a 70 year old lady, this excellent service was very much appreciated, and they deserve 5 stars.

Paid for a sample that they never sent - I have tried to contact them multiple times without any luck. AVOID!

We recently carried out a full refurbishment of our bungalow in Norfolk. Flooring was a big challenge and choice was really wide. I went to visit DOORS and Floors because I liked their ethos and values and their passion for delivering excellence. We got a huge amount of help from Jordan and ended up with a rustic engineered wood Kahrs floor throughout the house. It looks absolutely fantastic and is just so warm and comfortable and easy to maintain. All the staff were excellent and really cared that we were happy.

First they missed the bulk discount off my laminate flooring order, so would have overcharged me if I hadn't noticed. Then, after I paid, they asked if there would be a forklift to take delivery (??!), otherwise it would be a £85 fee, not free like I was told.
I cancelled and bought elsewhere, with actual free delivery and a professional service.
Still waiting on the remaining refund for the £125 scotia that was returned to sender by the courier before it reached me, for some reason.

Edit: very funny response from these cowboys who really don't know what they're doing, trying to justify the £85 delivery charge and blame the customer 🤣. I'd love to see the so-called belittling emails I'm supposed to have sent 😂. Perhaps they mean when I calmly mentioned how they were overcharging me by 10% 🤣. And to clarify, you only cancelled after I said I was going to buy it from another retailer, which I have done and I'm very happy with their professional service.

Hamilton’s could not have been more helpful. I sent them a drawing of oak doors I needed, with sizes etc.
They constantly communicated with me, I live in Dorset, so unable to just pop in the showroom.
I felt very confident that they understood my requests, and the doors arrived by courier on time and are fantastic quality.

Customer service amazing, choice and costs you will find hard to believe. Would not hesitate to recommend this firm. Jorden was the gentleman who dealt with my enquiry which was a little complicated as I needed to send my flooring over to Gibraltar. Jorden dealt with everything and it arrived in Gibraltar in no time at all and everything went with a breeze. Thankyou Jorden, you are a credit to the team. Will buy again from Hamilton's again for property renovation's.

James and team were very helpful and responsive, both before and after our order. They responded very quickly to any queries before the order, had a competitive price and were continuing to deliver great service in terms of delivery, It was a pleasure dealing with such a considerate supplier!

Nice floor. In-house fitting we felt very overpriced (1 person for 1 day) albeit good - £650 (we presumed it would be 2 people turning up at that rate!). Unfortunate experience with the person who we understand to be the ‘owner’ being told that we were wasting his time 5 minutes into a face to face conversation is not quite the response we were expecting when attempting to civilly sort out a query (whether he saw the query as valid or not!). Problem in the end was dealt with ‘professionally’ by another member of his team (who obviously has met their website claim ‘specially trained to communicate and listen to our customers’).

UPDATE - 7 DECEMBER FOLLOWING BUSINESS RESPONSE....

Would love to go into detail regarding the query, but suffice to say – just 1 board out of the WHOLE 22m² floor had a large ‘chiselled’ dug out knot – in a very noticeable place (we were told the floor would have random ones throughout the boards) – there were no others (unfortunately) – and therefore, to us, looked odd!

We felt we gave a factual review (ie Share your opinion to help others make better informed purchasing decisions, and help businesses provide a better service), but just in case, we will clarify:
Does it look nice - YES
Was fitting expensive – YES – over double what we recently paid for both an experienced floor fitter and carpenter per day – we were under the impression it was 2 people coming out ….. and the ‘mistaken’ view that if we had in-house any queries/problems would be more likely to be sorted easily.
Has it added value – YES – about what it cost!
Were you happy with service you were provided – NO – but we did make clear in the review the fact that another member of staff tried to make things better…

Did your colleague really waste his time?? his attitude improved the review we would have given – he was polite, helpful, noticed and fixed the issue (better than it looked) and advised on a couple of other minor queries we had – job done, customers .. happier. Just think how happy we would have been if this had happened right from our first, very polite, querying email and how much time and energy would have saved without having (what must have been a very onerous task) the job of giving brief replies to 3 emails, a 1 minute phone call and a 5 minute visit.

Could Hamilton’s have got more stars – YES - It must have been quite obvious that we were not happy with how we had been treated - we are quite thick skinned and have come across some ‘interesting’ characters in our time, but even we were shocked at the way we were spoken to! (we haven’t included everything we experienced above, as it would make even longer read!).

We understand ‘sorry’ seems to be the hardest word for some - a lot of companies use a phrase similar to …. ‘We are sorry that on this occasion our customer service did not meet your expectations’, but somehow, we rather feel that this may be just a little too painful and waste more of your ‘time and energy’ – so we will just look at our floor with fondness and thank you very much for allowing us to spend the best part of £3k with your esteemed company – we are so sorry that on this occasion ‘your customers did not meet your expectations’!

Flooring was excellent quality (Quick-step Imperio - available elsewhere) just be careful buying from these guys if you are not 100% certain on the flooring you are choosing. Having ordered 15 packs and laying in our first room and changing my mind about the design of the second room and wanting to go with carpet rather than wood I was told that I would have to pay for the original delivery fee, a 25% returns handling fee and shipping for returns which equalled 50% of the total cost so there’s no way to return items. Just something to bear in mind when thinking about shopping here. Plenty of alternative flooring retailers offer no query returns for left over packs etc which is what I will be looking out for next time. If you do end up buying from here I wouldnt over order because you can’t return easily. When questioning the 50% return cost, The tone of the emails received from the team is quite frankly disgusting - told me to sell it on eBay! Brilliant

We ordered oak flooring which we are very happy with. Our builder (who is a skilled perfectionist) was keen to see how it went down and he was delighted. It looks great! The delivery was prompt and because we live up a farm track the flooring company arranged for a suitable vehicle rather than a lorry. The delivery person was so helpful and positive. We are very please with the product and the completed job. I phoned up to clarify what oil we should use and got friendly helpful advice.

I live in Sunderland, but ordered from Hamiltons as my flooring contractor was unable to supply the wood flooring I had chosen.
I don't think I have ever had a better service, James phoned me back straight away, was incredibly helpful, and made the process straightforward. The floor arrived as planned and looks amazing. Thanks so much for your help.
