I ordered parts from an official supplier who it turned out don't even keep stock in this country and orders are not fulfilled unless all have arrived in the UK.
So I cancelled and went to DIY Spare Parts. Even odd-ball stuff I needed was in stock or on short lead time and they did a split delivery, As the job evolved and I found other stuff with problems, they were able to modify my order to suit. Prices were better too.

Excellent customer service
I purchased a set of Kohler pistons and rings from DIY spare parts, once I received the parts and tested the fits I noticed what I thought was a problem with the dimensions of the piston rings. I contacted DIY spare parts and was put into contact with Colin who was extremely understanding of the issue I had and very willing to help get to the bottom of the problem. Quite a bit of time went by with Colin having to go back and forth to Kohler for all relevant information and constantly pushing to get my problem solved. Long story short the dimensions were correct but without the help and support I received from Colin (and possibly others in the team) I would have been completely stuck and wouldn't have got the engine rebuilt for my customer.
My experience with DIY spare parts was over and above what I expected, I would highly recommend them for the fair pricing, excellent customer support, excellent ability and willingness to be able to help with problems and to follow the process of buying parts right through to ensuring the customer is extremely happy with the service they have received.

My 20 year old Stiga mower had badly…
My 20 year old Stiga mower had badly damaged blades and could find no parts in the US. With a broader search, I found DIY Spare Parts in the UK. They did a fantastic job of tracking down blades, not just exactly the correct part but even upgraded with replaceable tips. Jon even contacted Stiga in Sweden and was able to confirm correct fit. Over the top!!

Not in stock - no indication on website
The website gives no indication whether parts are in stock or not. And if they're not, as in my case, your order just disappears into a black hole with no communications or updates.
Really disappointing. Every other website I've found that sells these sorts of spare parts tells you whether it's actually in stock or not.
So you've been warned - don't assume that what you want is in stock when you order it.

Hi Jim, there are 2.5 million parts available on the site and we have a huge stock holding, but cannot hold everything. Stock can go in and out of stock, particularly at this time of year and we are dependent on manufacturers resupplying us, this normally only takes 1 to 2 days, so there is rarely a need to show stock levels here.
If a manufacturer is out of stock and there is none of a part in the UK, then we have to wait for the manufacturer's supply.
We have both Gaskets in stock, but Stihl UK are unfortunately out of stock of the Carb until Wednesday this week. It looks like a non-stocking item with them, so is a very rarely sold item, but they have sourced it from Europe in 8 working days for you.
We replied to your web enquiry with this information and will get the part to you as soon as we can.

Superb service.
I sent a message asking about availability of a front axle for my Mountfield lawn tractor. I got a reply later that day advising me that the axle wasn't in stock but one was available in Belgium, it would be with me in approximately 7 days and at no extra cost.
7 days later my axle was delivered.
Many thanks to Andy and Jon who were extremely courteous and helpful.
I would have no hesitation in purchasing from them again

It was a good buying experience, all the exploded views with all the parts... easy to order... after that...
Lots of time to send the parts and only after contact the support they have said there were some stock problems and they were waiting for the parts.
After reception... they sent one part wrong... i controlled my order... they have sent the wrong part. Contact... waited for days... new ticket... and then, "there was a mistake... ble bla bla... we will send you the correct one..." two months have passed, no part.... and my current ticket is waiting for 5 days right now. So... i would give less stars if i could.

In this case, they accepted the electronic order and failed to advise us that the part had recently been made no longer available. After chasing them up and being advised as such, we contacted you to let you know and the order was refunded in full. If another stockist happened to have one in stock, then that is good news and we are glad you found one, but like us, they would now, not be able to order another. Your review is therefore somewhat misleading and it is a shame you prefer not to say your name, so a company can contact you in person, to explain the situation and to have an opportunity to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
