Absolutely Avoid Direct Booker Agency – A Nightmare for Vacation Rental Owners!
If you're considering partnering with Direct Booker Agency for your vacation rental business, run in the opposite direction! What we hoped would be a supportive partnership to kickstart our new venture turned into months of frustrating delays, lost bookings, and constant headaches. This agency single-handedly set back the launch of our rental business by at least a couple of months, causing significant financial and operational problems right at the start of the season.
Here's a breakdown of our terrible experience:
Amateurish Onboarding & Inaccurate Listings: Their onboarding process is a complete disaster. It's clearly handled by amateurs who miss crucial details about your property. Despite providing comprehensive information, our listing went live with glaring inaccuracies and a shoddy description, completely misrepresenting what we offer. This undoubtedly deterred potential guests.
Unauthorized Price Manipulation: They consistently played with our rental prices, dropping them below the agreed-upon minimum. This not only undercut our potential earnings but also showed a blatant disregard for our pre-established terms.
Chaotic Client Communication & Lack of Transparency: Their communication with clients is a mess. We frequently discovered they had been communicating directly with our potential or actual guests without our knowledge or involvement. This lack of transparency and control is unacceptable and led to confusion and potential miscommunication.
Failure to Manage Major Platforms: A huge selling point for us was their supposed ability to manage major booking sites like Booking.com and Airbnb. This was a complete lie. They have no real control or expertise on these platforms.
Airbnb Account Never Opened: Incredibly, even after two months of working with them, they never managed to open an Airbnb page for our property. This alone cost us countless potential bookings from one of the largest vacation rental platforms.
Non-Existent "24/7 Proactive Support": Before signing, they boasted about their "very proactive 24/7 support department." This is pure fiction. In reality, their support is limited to standard 8-to-5 working hours, leaving you stranded outside of those times when issues inevitably arise.
Unresponsive Account Manager: You're assigned an account manager, but don't expect any "management." They rarely answer their phone and take days to reply to emails, if at all. Getting a simple answer or resolution to a problem was an ongoing battle.
Gaslighting and Denial: When confronted about the constant problems and delays, their response was infuriating. They would simply claim that "everything is okay" and that they are "doing a great job," even going so far as to suggest we should be "lucky to have them." This dismissive attitude only added insult to injury.
In short, Direct Booker Agency promises a lot and delivers absolutely nothing but frustration and setbacks. They are unprofessional, uncommunicative, and ultimately detrimental to a new business trying to get off the ground. Save yourself the stress, money, and lost opportunities – find another agency.
