Great experience with DebtCo. Donna and Katie helped me sort a gym membership debt that I was unaware of! Easy and quick system as well to get this resolved.

This company is currently chasing my 16 year old for a gym debt. She followed instruction to cancel direct debits on the correct date , yet still got stung. Adding late fees and interest.

I had a really positive experience working with DebtCo. From the start, they were clear, professional, and respectful, which made a stressful situation much easier to manage. They took the time to explain my options, answered my questions honestly, and worked with me to reach a solution that felt fair and achievable. I genuinely felt supported throughout the process and appreciated how straightforward and human their approach was. I’d definitely recommend them to anyone needing help sorting out a debt.

Horrendous company

I received a letter from the company about settling a debt for a subscription i had cancelled. I accepted this and proceeded to request a payment plan which 2 months is still pending and has not been approved. The online portal has the worst functionality of any website I have visited. When clicking on the button to make a partial payment it takes you to a screen asking you to log in. When you log in it then goes back to the previous screen. The only way to proceed is to make payment in full which i am not prepared to do. When clicking on the help page there is an option to speak to someone on WhatsApp which then brings an error message saying "the number selected is not whatsapp". Awful service i have raised this issue alongside screenshots To my unhelpful case handler elliot who did not respond to the issues I was receiving, only keeps sending emails threatening ti escalate if i do not pay on full. I have made a complaint to the company and intend to escalate to the relevant ombudsman

It was quite a shock receiving a request for settlement out of the blue but I have to say the professionalism of the staff, especially Donna, made an awkward situation easy to deal with. Not what I was expecting from a debt collection company.

I was contacted by this debt collection company regarding an outstanding balance I had with my gym. Olivia took the time to listen to my situation and was extremely helpful throughout the process. She set up a manageable payment plan that allowed me to pay off the balance in installments. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’m grateful to have the debt resolved

I'm writing this review in case someone else goes through the same issue.

I had a very negative experience with this gym. Our account was suspended in December, and despite emailing and informing the front desk, the issue wasn’t resolved until April.

In April, they sent our case to a debt collection agency (Debtcouk), demanding nearly £800. We asked for a case review, but they ignored us. Only after posting several reviews did the Head Office finally contact us.

They couldn’t explain why we weren’t notified before being referred to the agency, even though they claimed that’s their usual procedure. During a video call, they pressured us emotionally to the point of tears, saying they wouldn’t leave us alone unless we paid and would send us to the debt agency.

The front desk lied, claiming they had contacted us via email, but they were never able to prove it—because those emails were never sent. Out of the £800 they demanded, we paid around £100 just to be left alone.

Thankfully, several of our friends have already left this gym. We won’t be going back, and we definitely won’t recommend it. What happened to us was completely unfair.
