That's a fair frustration, Staci. The deals that disappear fastest are nonstop business and first class award seats, where there are often only a couple of seats on a flight and a lot of people looking for them. We confirm availability right before each deal is sent, but we know that's little comfort when the seats are already gone by the time you look.

Even when an example is a business class seat to Tokyo, the moves behind it, like transferring points to an airline partner or picking the right hotel program, work just as well for four seats to Orlando. Domestic routes are often where finding four award seats together is easiest, too.

We tend to travel as free agents, booking whichever airline offers the best value on a given trip, since staying loyal for status often means paying a premium for the same seat. Status does have real perks if you fly one airline a lot, though, and plenty of our tips still apply, like booking through partner airlines and making your cards work harder.
