Very disappointing quality and warranty support for a premium-priced bag
I purchased a Dagne Dover backpack on 12/21/24, and after very light use, the zipper completely came apart and failed. This was not a heavily used bag, it was not abused, and the rest of the backpack is still in good condition. The failure is isolated to the zipper, which makes it feel like a clear quality or manufacturing issue.
For the price point, I expected this backpack to last far longer than just over a year. A zipper completely failing on a premium bag that has barely been used is extremely disappointing.
I contacted Dagne Dover hoping they would stand behind their product, especially since this is the kind of issue that should not happen on an expensive backpack. Their response was that the purchase was outside the warranty window, so they would not repair or replace it. Instead, they offered a 30% discount toward buying another bag.
That is frustrating because I do not want a discount on another expensive product when the first one failed prematurely. I wanted the company to stand behind the quality of the item I already purchased.
I liked the design of the bag, but based on this experience, I cannot recommend Dagne Dover. A premium brand should offer premium durability and better customer support when a lightly used product fails this badly.
