Rental Hydrovac Service- I called local…
Rental Hydrovac Service- I called local shop, could not tell me when truck was last serviced or due for service- being a rental they directed us to Corp./ Rentals. Rentals had no record of last service and suggested looking in the manual to see what needed service and at what interval. Also suggested calling terminal truck was picked up from. At this point I would have rated 1 star - very frustrated.
I called the salesman who we work with and he knew right away what & when (very impressive) , called the local shop and scheduled us, and got right back to us with an update. He is the reason for the 4 star review.
Local shop did contact right away -but- they again dropped the ball. They asked us to shut the truck down (stop working) so to bring the truck in to see what filters and materials were needed to be ordered. A little frustrated to lose time and money on the job but knowing this needed to be done we complied the same day. My driver calls when he arrives and lets me know they now want to keep the truck overnight. I was frustrated. I believe the local shop should know by vin or build plate what filters and fluids were needed to get parts coming. I believe the local shop should carry common items like this in inventory to avoid delays. I also believe they should minimize customer down time if they are going to ask for equipment to be brought in. I voiced this to them and to their credit they did offer to get the truck in right away & they did- stayed late even. I hope some lessons are learned - we all make mistakes but we can’t not improve- our business depends on it.
