Caring support
Being a Country Cousin can at times be extremely challenging yet often rewarding. It's so important for a Carer to be able to discuss matters with the office and of course keep them updated with clients needs. I have been exceptionally fortunate to liaise with Bethany Wotton at the office. She has always shown interest and given time to details, hence giving me added confidence and pleasure in providing the best possible care to my clients and supporting the family too. Whether liaising with Bethany by email or by phone I always feel 'she's on the case' and there will be a favourable outcome. Thank you Bethan!
Great communication, lovely staff and highly efficient

They have been instrumental in finding me a great carer; with very short notice.
They are very quick to return calls and their service is immecable in all departments.

Care at Home for my father
My father has a dementia and moved into a Care Home when my mother could no longer manage. He was very unhappy for the year he was there and not the easiest man to care for as he didn’t think he needed help and could become very cross. When the 2 bed flat, which is integral in our home, became available, we moved him in with a full time Carer. Country Cousins have provided 3 excellent male carers in rotation. They have all been so kind and patient with my father. I have been able to call up for a coffee or cup of tea; to sit with him for reassurance; but not be involved in the day to day personal care, any night calls, food shopping or meals. My father is so much happier, his personal needs are met immediately and, although this is not the reason we did it, the cost is less than him living in the Care Home. I cannot thank Country Cousins enough for their help and support.
Dreadful service
I contacted Country Cousins at the start of the year to arrange care for my disabled sister and elderly mother so I could go on holiday in November. I paid the £280 joining fee and was assured they would be able to help - and I would be sent a number of carer options to review 6-8 weeks prior to my holiday.
We passed the 8 week then 6 week deadline. I waited another couple of weeks - and heard nothing, I emailed and they took almost a month to reply - then with a bland it's in hand - with nothing concrete and no carer details. I have called several times to try to find out what is going on - and was horrified on one occasion to be told 'We're a bit behind - we're working on this week and next week' With less than two weeks to go before my holiday, I've had to completely re-jig plans. I couldn't feel more let down and disappointed in Country Cousins - and would advise anyone to steer well clear of this incompetent, unreliable service.
Putting the effort in gives the best results
I have been using Country Cousins to provide care for a friend for nearly 2 years. During this time the critical thing has been the very professional, honest service provided by Sharon Croley our assigned account manager. She has never let us down, although some conversations have been difficult. Sharon is always trying to build up a picture of her client. Always striving to achieve a care plan that matches the best result and outcomes for the client.
If your looking for care you must work with your Country Cousins account manager to get the best results.
Professional and Caring
Country Cousins have been professional and caring in all my dealings with them. They have provided some excellent carers for my elderly aunt, and always liaised with me about any issues.

One of the best dog friendly restaurants we’ve ever been in - We were welcomed into the restaurant by…
We were welcomed into the restaurant by a really friendly gentleman, who then showed us to a table. Our waitress Yaz (absolutely lovely girl) took our drinks order. I was sure what cider to order, but Yaz talked me through all the ciders they had. (I went for a Sam’s and it was delicious) my wife and I opted for the carvery. For the you go up to the food counter and tell the chef what meat you would like. He then hands you your plate of meat for you to help yourself to vegetables. Oh my god, I was in heaven, the selection was huge. I went for roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, cabbage, swede, carrots and peas, topped off with lovely rich gravy. A lovely lady offered to take my plate to my table, but I said I was happy to carry it myself. (The plate was well loaded up!) once we had finished dinner Yaz asked whether we would like to see the dessert trolley. As we had seen it at the table opposite us earlier there was no way we were going to decline!😋 my wife had a trifle which was in a large glass, and I went for spotted dic with custard. Both were absolutely delicious. It’s rare these days to have a meal out where the food is without fault and you actually feel full and satisfied, well both boxes were well and truly ticked here.
In summary, if you are looking for somewhere, clean, comfortable and welcoming, with fantastic food, look no further. Bear in mind this place is far from expensive, in fact it’s excellent value for money, so it’s a no brainier.
Also, I must mention it’s dog friendly. We took our miniature dachshund with us and he was very much at home 😁
It is good to be appreciated
Some assignments are so challenging one feels like giving them up but I am pleased to share that on several occasions Sharon Croley of Country Cousins has checked on me, asked if there is anything she can help with to make the assignment easier. The moral support that she gives and the encouragement have made me feel appreciated. To her it is not about pleasing the client only but us as well. When someone has your back you go the extra mile. It is a pleasure to work with Sharon, and she never fails to call back whenever I leave a message. Many thanks to her.
An unfortunate decline
This is my 10th year working for Country Cousins and it will be my last. What used to be a personable, family run company that was a joy to work for has become a poor run corporate business with no respect for carers or clients. I feel uneasy each time I have to ring the office as the girls are under so much stress it is evident in the way they handle situations. Rot seeping down from the top.

Excellent experience with Kelly Rossi from Country Cousin, professional approach and well pointed evaluation of the client. The placement goes very well , the care recipient, Eileen very happy with me , I spoiled her with kindness, cooking every fresh meal, helping with assisting medication, changing stoma bags. Family happy for the proper match , thanks to Kelly.

Having been with country cousin +years have co-ordinater Portia and she has been really helpful and we have a friendly chat checking how things are going. She will check that our dates are correct to going to each client and any problems just to let her or colleagues take message to pass on.

Not a good agency for carers or client…
Not a good agency for carers or client would not recommend, run by youngsters who haven't a clue. No longer a family run business but appears a corporate company that's all about money
A holiday at home!
My mother had a live in carer from Country Cousins for two weeks to enable my wife and I to take a holiday.
The registration process was straightforward and thorough. (Be open and honest during this process, the better the information given, the more successful the match will be!)
The carer offered looked good on paper, and after a phone call with both myself and my mother, she was booked.
My mother had a great fortnight, she managed to get out more, had company, and with the comfort of staying in her own home. So glad she chose this option rather than 2 weeks respite in a care home!

I have worked as a live-in carer for Country Cousins for over 8 years now. The Care Team are lovely and empathetic toward the carers and clients alike. Team Leader, Kelly, is super and works to ensure an excellent relationship between the carer and the family 👍 Kelly and the rest of the Team deserve the ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ and more, they do an excellent job.

A Jewel in the Crown.
After finding out the average cost of employing an overnight carer, we were pleasantly surprised when Country Cousins informed us of their services and corresponding costs.
We decided to give them a go for a 5 night stay over and arranged everything through a very helpful lady called Kelly.
Kelly assured us that she had just the person to suit our requirements and she was right.
Norma turned up as promised after a pre meet phone call and she was absolutely perfect. Norma was professional to the core as well as being empathetic and patient with my mother in law who isn’t the easiest woman to deal with.
Kelly stayed on the ball with follow up phone calls to ensure we were happy with their service and I can only say that we intend to use Country Cousins as many times as possible before the inevitable happens.
