This company is robbing me especially…

This company is robbing me especially me I paid for my services to be put on on the 28th of February for the month of March shortly after payment was made they put my services on but it only lasted for 10 days and they suspended my service telling me im supposed to pay on the first of the month of March. I even payed more than I was supposed to. Now they saying they can't help me because I payed on the 28th a day earlier, to my knowledge it is a month to month no contract, I never have services the whole of February it was suspended due to non payment. So why then put it on, on the 28th shortly after payment then suspend it after 10 days so I payed more than I was supposed to pay for a full month and only got 10 days worth of that money to date I am still suspended and they say they can't help me, so what happens to the rest of the money I paid. Daylight robbery!

Thiefs

Thiefs. I have been struggling with these thiefs for a while for never getting the speeds I pay for. Now they went to far. This morning I made payment yet this evening I still dont have internet. I logged multiple tickets and calls and was told they see the payment and will escalate reconnection. They took my money and ran. And the big issue is we need it for work and loose money. Beware and bnever trust thiefs. I am reporting them to the xommision and ombutsman now. Beware the thiefs

Extremely Disappointing Customer Support

I have had an extremely disappointing experience with Cool Ideas’ customer support.

Our fibre internet connection went down and after completing all the required troubleshooting steps on our side, it was confirmed that the issue is on Cool Ideas’ side, specifically related to an account verification failure within their system. Despite this being identified, the support experience has been very poor.

I was repeatedly assured that the matter would be treated with urgency and that I would receive call-backs with updates. Unfortunately, those promises were not kept. I repeatedly had to follow up myself, and even then there were no clear timelines, no tangible progress, and no real resolution provided.

Reliable internet connectivity is critical for work, and this outage has had a significant impact on our ability to work from home. What is most frustrating is not just the technical issue, but the lack of ownership, communication, and urgency from the support team.

I wanted Internet per 1.12.25 and got in November in contact with Linklayer. Received confirmation that I would have it in time. Until 8.12.25 no confirmation when installation would happen. Had to return to my old system and bought CellC datas. In December I received a bill for R493.84 for Internet usage. All explanation that I never received anything to enable me to receive internet did`nt help, I was harassed to pay by email and SMS every second day! Now, I am even listed as a defaulter - unbelievable, need a lawyer to stop this! Be careful of this company!

Internet Connection Unstable

There uptime is very unstable. The service are always slow, emails and then they call, after which they say someone will come out from the fibre line company, which never happens. Do not use Cool Ideas or Metro Fibre.

I requested a cancellation on the 1st…

I requested a cancellation on the 1st August I went ahead and retracted that cancellation on the same day on the 21st August I received a call asking why I’m cancelling my service to which I responded that I retracted the cancellation the consultant confirmed all is in order I woke up this morning to no internet cancellation went through I was still told this morning from the t2 department that my line is up and running and everything looks fine
How is this possible why is there no track of my conversations and emails this is pathetic.

Awful support, awful service.

If you’re considering Cool Ideas as an internet provider, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

It took them nearly a week just to get my connection running, yet somehow they had no problem sending me an invoice before I even had access to the internet. Whenever I needed assistance, their support was painfully slow.

When I moved and let my subscription lapse, I was hit with a R669 “cancellation fee.” I told them I’d pay as soon as I was back in town, and I stayed in touch. Instead of a reasonable response, they bombarded me with emails and phone calls. Amazing how much energy they put into debt collection compared to the complete indifference they showed when I needed help as a customer.

The final straw was when they outsourced me to some thuggish outfit called Accountability. Despite me paying before the deadline and my Cool Ideas account clearly showing I was up to date, Accountability still threatened me and claimed I’d been blacklisted. Apparently, double-checking facts is too much effort for either of them.

This is a company far more focused on squeezing money out of customers than providing reliable service. To top it off, I later discovered there are much cheaper providers with better reputations. My advice: avoid Cool Ideas. You’ll thank yourself later.

I’m extremely disappointed with the way…

I’m extremely disappointed with the way Cool Ideas is handling my cancellation.

I gave notice to cancel my internet service on Monday, 2 June 2025 — the first business day after the weekend, since Cool Ideas does not operate on weekends. Despite this, they now claim my notice is not valid and insist I must pay for July as well, even though I already paid for the full month of June.

They are refusing to acknowledge that notice given on the next business day after a weekend is reasonable and compliant with standard practice.

What’s worse is they are now threatening to harm my credit score if I don’t pay for a service I never used in July. This is not only unethical but borders on intimidation.

I’ve tried to resolve this civilly, but this treatment of loyal paying customers is unacceptable. I will be lodging a formal complaint with the Ombudsman, as well as posting this on HelloPeter and all relevant social media platforms.

The worst service

The worst service I have every received. I have been waiting for 10 DAYS for Cool Ideas to activate my internet after moving to a new house. While they do respond, all they do is blame the fibre provider without taking any accountability. I have had to follow up twice a day nearly, with the same generic response being received. Finally, one of their staff admitted that they made a mistake in the application. Yet, despite that, they keep saying they will escalate it without anything happening and they keep blaming the fibre provider yet it was their fault all along. They are not honest. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND EVER USING COOL IDEAS. I still do not have internet. Absolutely pathetic.

This service sucks.

This service sucks.

I’ve been struggling to get connected to my internet 4 days now. Everyday I speak to a consultant regarding my issue. All of them are saying the same sad story. A technician will contact you. No call just an email stating your issue has been resolved. I ask that someone senior to call but no call of any senior. I dealt with Lerato, Karabo and Chevonne. Then Karabo call said Chevonne ask that she must call me I asked her if she was one of the senior working there she said no. So he asked colleagues to call me to calm me down.

4 days without internet which I paid for.

After speaking or email them a half an hour I get an email your case has been resolved but still no call from a technician or senior.

No follow up call to confirm if the my WiFi is working fine or a manager. Put me on hold for over 10minutes manager is still busy. And this is on my expensive.

They sucks!!!!!!!

I’ll wait for the call to fix my issue

It's the worst and most frustrating…

It's the worst and most frustrating fibre delivery I've encountered especially after using one where we had literally no issues. Streaming is awful, videos freezing constantly, cannot view or get the details quick because it takes forever and I end up abandoning everything I try to do. I certainly will not be using you in the near future when I change providers. Date of experience is EVERYDAY.

BAD Service

So , they down graded my line from being on a 50/50 that is no more available to 30/30 without any mail phone call or what so ever. Phoned them had a lot excuses forced me to take a higher package what i don't mind at all as just there was no communication at all so i had to pay a difference that was a small amount i was billed a full amount as leading paying a double installment to Cool Ideas. Spoke to a person in some department then Emails started of what they need .... to refund the money. I was told the money only gets paid back on a Friday that was last week Today 14-10-2024 they had a issue and now they are only goin to to this on this coming Friday so like in the previous reviews you are a Ball and get moved around i am a customer for 5 years and the service from Cool Ideas has really gone to the drain they where always the best but SORRY to say they need to get they Game back on. Also the connection keeps on dropping that never use to happen like i said COOL IDEAS get your Game back on or you are going to get more and more Bad reviews till you don't have loyal customers any more i am one of those customers and really thinking of changing. Changing name of account holder

We switched account holders recently. It was smooth and quick. Constant updates and warnings of the date the switch over will happen. Been with them for years and the only time we've had trouble was when Vumatel was down.

I hope this mail finds you well.

I have logged a complaint with cool ideas, vuma tell on the 06.09.24 as my line went down. I was advised that it would take 72 hours for resolution. Once the 72 hour frame had passed.

I called back to follow up and was advised that one of vumatel drivers were stabbed in my area. I then asked which are they were referring to and was advised it took place in lotus river. I contested this as I do not reside in lotus river as I live in pelican park and to get to that area, I would need to take a taxi. They then made up excuses advising that they had now a shortage of engineers.

I was then advised that and engineer would be out on the 14.09.24. I waited in all day and then called cool ideas to do a follow up. They then advised that they had sent out a driver but was this time shot in my area, I then asked which area they were referring to, and was advised that they diver went to grassy park this time. Once again I contested this by advising I do live in grassy park and to get there, I would need to take a taxi.

I then questioned this logic of sending drivers to different areas other then man, and was met with another excuse, which was they wanted to inspection the main sever. I then argued that in the past, they would come to my property first, to check if there isn't anything wrong with my router or the cables that are infront of the house, and they could not answer that.

I then made them aware that I would want a refund for the service I paid for, of which I did not receive, I also requested compensation for the airtime spent following up as none of their agents had taken ownership of my issue. I also advised that I will be changing services providers and wanted compensation for my time wasted, the stress and anxiety as well as needed to avail myself for missed appointments as well as broken slap.

I was advised that they will look into refunding my money back, yet till to date, I have not had clear communication from them, everytime I my hear it's been escalated, investigated but no feedback.

I have spoken to multiple agents, two managers, yet I still don't know where I stand.

Terrible terrible..

Terrible terrible... This is my 4th fibre ISP and unfortunately definitely not my last they are shocking and support is non existent... They have no idea what is going on they do not answer I am seriously now under the impression they do not offer support at all on weekend so whatever you do please do not make the same mistake as me and switch to not so Coolideas.

Suspending account even with payment arrangement accepted...!

This is my first month after switching to Cool Ideas. Reason, Broadband "best isp" ranking. It is now clear that their ranking is BS!
Anyway, I was under the impresion that my monthly will be debited. 2 weeks into the month I get suspended. Non-payment. I made a payment arrangement as it was mid-month. I wrote to them but they take so long to get back to me I had to go to their office to get unsuspended. They claim "system glitch". Twice it happened that they suspended within the arrangement period! This is absolutely terrible service. I already do not want to be with them any longer!
