Consensus over a monthly deal or annual with the effective monthly cost being at a reduced rate if paid in advance. I took the annual deal as I was happy with the 1000 MCP look ups per month that was included. The contract stated this was subject to change but felt that like any reputable company, any change would be within reason. One month later the total look ups for the rest of the year has reduced from 1000 per month to 250 per month, a 75% drop. I have have a 1000 per month on a new tier 4.5 times the cost of my existing. This is a pattern that is being seen with AI based companies that use annual agreements and cleverly worded contracts to change the goal posts not just at any time but by any amount. BEWARE!!

My situation is similar – a year-long subscription that suddenly landed on my head. The only difference is that I had a limit on the maximum charge per transaction on my card, so the system failed to charge me. I went to cancel the subscription, and it was indeed cancelled... but it will only be cancelled IN A YEAR. So for this whole year I’ll have to keep an eye on them to make sure they don’t charge those 120$. Any attempts to contact support turn out to be futile – it’s specifically the help page that refuses to work.

I was charged €104 after signing up for a free trial with Consensus, without receiving any clear notification that the trial was ending or that I would be billed.

I contacted support to request a cancellation and a refund, but I have not received any response so far. This situation is very concerning, especially as a student, since this amount is significant for me.

I am simply requesting the immediate cancellation of the subscription and a full refund of the charged amount.

I had the same experience as Robert. I have emailed for two days after they rapidly charged me 120.00 after a trial and I had send an email cancelling the day before. I have heard nothing from them after emailing several times. Very frustrating and out 120 bucks!!!!!!!!!!

I used Consensus.app on a trial for about a day. I did not knowingly sign up for a subscription plan. Around a year later, I was charged $107.88 with no warning or reminder that I was on an annual subscription or that it would renew.

As soon as I noticed the payment, I emailed support multiple times requesting a refund and an explanation. I provided them with all relevant details, including full name, email address, receipt number, invoice number, and payment method, which they illegally took from my card without warning. I’ve had no reply to any of my emails so far.

I’m based in the UK and I asked to cancel and refund promptly under UK consumer protections for online services/digital subscriptions. The lack of communication is the main issue here: if there’s a valid reason they can’t refund, they should at least respond.

Based on my experience, I can’t recommend this service due to the unexpected charge and the complete absence of customer support.
