Customer Service & Beyond.....

Spoke to Elliot today in regard to a recent order for one of my elderly customers. I felt that he went beyond for such a small order. What may seem like a trivial thing to some of us, my customer had fixated on these items. He will be very happy.

Terrible system for electric gates

We have used a Comtel Control system on our electric gates for some years now. The gates are excellent aside from the Comtel system which was not our choice, specified by the gate supplier, and is absolutely appalling. Handheld remotes work eventually but as for this working from a phone, it's erratic at best. I'm writing this review after my wife and I wasting north of ten minutes trying to get the gates to open and lock open. This is not an isolated issue. This system is dire - do not buy it.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We're sorry to hear you've been experiencing difficulties with the system.

From your comments, it sounds like there may be two separate issues. The handheld remotes are not supplied or controlled by Commtel, so unfortunately we wouldn't be able to diagnose any problems relating to their operation.

However, we'd very much like to help with the phone-based access side of the system. If calls or gate activations are proving unreliable, our technical support team can carry out some remote diagnostics and investigate whether there is an issue affecting the intercom system.

Depending on the nature of the fault, your installer may need to become involved, but our team may be able to identify and resolve the issue remotely in the first instance.

Absolutely atrocious customer service

Absolutely atrocious customer service. I bought an Optimus EK1 gate intercom just over a year ago. The product says that it has a 2 year manufacturers warranty. The unit has just stopped working. The unit is totally dead despite electricity getting to it. I rang Commtel, only to be told that because I was not a registered Commtel installer they couldn't help me. I am a qualified electrician and I fitted the intercom, it has worked perfectly for the past year but now it has stopped working and is totally dead. They are refusing to fulfil their warranty/guarantee, I am appalled by their response. I have lost over £500, Trading Standards will be involved. What a terrible company, I would give no stars if I could.

We're sorry to hear you've experienced an issue with your intercom and that you've been left feeling disappointed.

The Optimus EK1 is supplied through our distribution partners, who purchase the products directly from us and provide them to installers. As such, warranty claims and any replacement parts are handled through the original distributor.

If you could email us at hello@commtel.io with the serial number of the intercom and the name of the distributor it was purchased from, we'll investigate the matter and liaise with them to help move things forward.

Poor Customer Service

I've been a customer with Commtel for a number of years and all going well until we had to replace a SIM card. Almost two weeks after the request to activate was made and nothing has happened. I was promised several callbacks which never materialised and no communication from the company after deadlines passed. I have now cancelled my account with them. Just let themselves down by poor customer service.
