Command Aviation provides specialised flight training across Adelaide and South Australia for private pilots, business travellers, and aircraft owners who need real confidence in the cockpit. We build completely customised training plans with no fixed schedule and no lock-step syllabus. Every lesson is tailored to your aircraft, your goals, and your availability. We can travel to any airport in South Australia to train with you in your own aeroplane or a hired aircraft. From Parafield to Murray Bridge, Aldinga, Goolwa, Port Lincoln, Renmark, Clare Valley and Whyalla, we meet you where you fly and focus on real world flying skills, not just passing tests.
We specialise in private pilot licence training and instrument rating training for pilots who want to fly for business, family travel, or personal freedom. Command Aviation offers both online courses and in-person flight training, including video briefings, live coaching, and self-paced ground school so you never waste expensive flight time trying to learn theory in the air. Training starts on the ground then transfers to the cockpit when you’re ready to perform. Confidence comes from preparation and visualisation, not just more hours in the circuit.
Our instructors have thousands of hours training pilots who own or are planning to buy their own aeroplane. We understand the mindset of business owners, professionals, and pilots with families who need flexible scheduling and practical lessons that fit real life. Whether you fly a Cirrus, Cessna, Piper, Jabiru or any other light aircraft, we help you build true command of your aircraft and make smart decisions in South Australian and Australian airspace. We cover Adelaide controlled airspace procedures as well as brief you on other states, and we frequently visit Melbourne and Sydney, Class G operations, planning and communication for regional flying, and practical IFR training for cloud and low visibility days.
Command Aviation is the partner of choice for pilots who want long term mentorship, structured progression, and a safe path to owning and operating their own aeroplane. If you want to sharpen your skills, prepare for an aircraft purchase, improve decision making or travel further with confidence, we can train you anywhere in South Australia. Online theory, in-person flying, customised lesson plans, no set times, and real support for private flying in Adelaide and beyond around Australia and the world. That is how we train confident pilots, not just licence holders.
Flight training in Adelaide made personal, practical, and built around your life. That is Command Aviation.

I have trained with Michael Pulman over a 5 year period through many levels, including PPL, NVFR and PIFR. I have always found Michael to create a comfortable learning environment which proved instrumental assisting me with my anxiety with radio calls and talking to ATC. Michael was able to coach me through this almost debilitating personal trait for which with his help, I am so happy to report I have now successfully conquered. This has enabled me to frequently navigate into C Class airspace and communicate with ATC with confidence. I highly recommend flight training with Michael Pulman.
I’ve flown several times with Michael doing IFR refreshers and additional procedure renewal training in and around Adelaide. He is a calm, measured instructor with a aviation pedigree, whose gifts include assessing not only what might be of benefit to you in your chosen mission, but also in selecting the most appropriate mode of delivering that training. My requirements included his expertise in Cirrus aircraft, and as a CSIP, he was able to provide for my insurance conditions in terms of check rides, but more than that, he was diligent in using those check rides to provide useful guidance to strengthen both my confidence and ability, without doubt. Michael will listen as much as he transmits, I think with the goal of finding out both what you want to achieve and what you need. The Command Aviation description written by Michael is in my opinion a decent reflection of what they offer, it’s safe to take it as read. I would recommend them highly for what I’ve asked of them specifically, and I suspect other aspects of training they offer would be just as strong.
I did my training with Michael in January of 2025. I was preparing for my instrument renewal after not having flown IFR for the previous 5 years. Michael was patient, clear and concise with his instructions. As well as being a great judge of knowing when it’s time to have a break and not overloading you. Within a few hours I was feeling more confident. I would recommend them for any of your flight training.
My aviation journey started back in 2010 , with a 12 year break due to the frustrating training I received elsewhere. I was encouraged to seek out Michael Pullman and never looked back. He guided me through the PPL theory exam and the lead up to sitting my PPL flight exam. His training up to the flight exam was professional and the patients of a saint. I can only echo Vanessa Feikai experience when training in my Cirrus SR22 … guiding me through my VFR Transition Training and teaching me to fly in my rocket ship . His all round knowledge of everything aviation never ceased to amaze me. I can’t thank him enough for all his dedication and making himself available for any questions and queries that I find myself struggling with. If your thinking about trying your hand flying…. you need to find Michael Pullman .
Michael (Pulman) helped me with a recent flight review and some subsequent flight training. I feel very fortunate to have found such a professional instructor. He was organised, knowledgeable and helpful. I really appreciated that he listened carefully and tailored his manner and communication to help me achieve the best results from our training sessions.
I really enjoyed my training with Michael Pullman. It was important to me to get my PIFR rating.l wanted to be the safest and best pilot l could be. I wanted to be comfortable flying in and out of busy controlled airports. Michael soon picked up on my strengths and weaknesses where l needed to improve and coached me and guided me through my training. I really feel l am a much better and safer pilot after my training with Michael l feel a lot more comfortable on the radio knowing and understanding what l want say still get tongue tied occasionally but pretty good really. I have learnt so much and enjoyed doing it Cheers Brian
Michael got both me and my Cirrus back in the air after a long hiatus waiting for an engine overhaul. He had a flight test plan, followed it to the letter, and had a training plan which was absolutely custom designed for my flying - for business all over the country. He had me confident in myself and my Cirrus within a few hours and I look forward to our next flight instruction session, so I can learn even more of the small details that make flying safer, more enjoyable and make my passengers feel the same.
Michael is a very good instructor with a professional but relaxed approach. He makes you feel comfortable with a good level of confidence right from the start, even if you’re a green starter like I was. His practical approach makes it easy to memorize critical things for your training. I would recommend Michael for any level of flight training.
Michael Pullman from Command Aviation is an exceptional flying instructor. He guided me through my PPL with absolute professionalism, clear instruction, and a calm, structured approach to training. Later, as a qualified CSIP, he delivered high-quality Cirrus training and check rides with the same disciplined, safety-focused mindset. Michael is thorough, technically sharp, reliable, and sets high standards in both flying and instruction. I recommend him without hesitation.
Michael is a fantastic instructor, very knowledgeable and knows how to impart that knowledge in a format to make it easy to understand. In flight he is calm and confidence inspiring. Easily my first choice when booking flight reviews, rusty pilot training or even just to help. Highly recommended!
Michael has been a great instructor and mentor on my transition from RAAus RPC to the CASA RPL. His approach to training is friendly and reassuring. I had been experiencing anxiety around preparing for flights, and his easy-going nature has helped me to have the confidence in my abilities as a pilot. I will certainly be employing Michael as my instructor in the future as i continue to grow as a pilot.
Michael conducted my VFR transition training for the Cirrus SR22 as part of company training. I was returning to flying after nearly 2 years off due to losing my Class 1 & 2 Medicals. As soon as I received the good news from Casa I booked my training in immediately, eager to be airborne once again. Not only was this transition training for a more complex, higher performance aircraft than I had ever flown, but it was essentially training for me to get acquainted with the left hand seat again. This was vital for me as flying is an important part of my job and I was determined to rebuild my skill set. Michael is an approachable, knowledgeable and patient instructor. We completed my transition training within the prescribed time and he was flexible and accommodating with his availability. I really appreciated that Michael understood I had been out of the game for a while and he helped me gain so much of my confidence back. I particularly liked in simulated emergencies or abnormal situations, he has a way of creating an experience where you understand exactly how you react and respond to it, rather than just going through the motions. He was very adaptable and ensures his students are comfortable and doesn’t push them far beyond their limits. Michael also provides extremely detailed and thoughtful feedback. I feel such a sense of accomplishment now being able to fly the Cirrus SR22! Thanks very much.
Michael from Command Aviation was great. I did my RPL and PPL with Command as well as a MPPC endorsement. Very professional and had me through the training quickly with ease! Great experience with knowledgeable and friendly instructors.
