I like the strategies and tools told about in the sessions. I also like how we were able to try them out live and not have to wait to do it on our own. The articles made me rethink how I do things to better help my students and seeing what others had to say and their thoughts, is helpful to see I am not alone in some of my thinking.

The organization of the presenter. She was very relatable and she allowed for us to understand the content every month.

Julianna does an excellent job of explaining formative assessment and how to utilize this in the classroom weekly to inform instruction. She also shows how this standards based grading system can be converted to the traditional grading system which is very helpful since most schools still use this system. In this workshop, valuable resources are given to use in the classroom along with a resource for sharing this information with students so they understand how they will be graded in class. I have been trying for a while to create a standards based grading system in my classroom that allows me to quickly address student misconceptions/errors (through small groups) but will still allow me to convert to the traditional grading system my school uses. This method does it all!

Juliana is very down-to-earth and understands what teachers are facing in their classrooms. She offers real strategies that can be utilized immediately!

I cannot say enough amazing things about the Math Wars Method! The information is wonderful and practical. It makes so much sense and I use what I have learned every day. Math Wars has been great in my middle school classroom. In fact, after I implemented it mid-year, one of my 6th graders recently told me that it was "one of the best decisions I've made in the classroom." Kids come in daily asking if we're playing math wars, and several students have commented that they understand the lessons better since we've started using this method. It has made a big difference in their confidence and participation in class. I was hesitant to spend the money at first, but it has been well worth it. Highly recommend!

Excellent, easy ways to increase engagement in math classrooms along with some pertinent research that has been done on math anxiety causes and work-arounds. I wish it was longer!

Juliana Tapper created the most research backed, real world (applicable RIGHT NOW) professional development I have ever attended. I have been a teacher for 13 years and a principal for 7. Juliana presented on, and provided, a plethora of content! I needed to clarify a few things when I was first getting into the resources and within an hour or less I received an email answering my question or probing further if she needed more information to effectively address my question.

If and when I need more training in other areas, Juliana will be my one stop shop. I literally feel that she is MY personal mentor. I’m not sure how she does this but Juliana has a way of demonstrating her care and concern over the digital divide! More than a training, I have found someone I TRUST!

The Math Wars Workshop has been very helpful in my classroom. Most of my students are really into it. My students (standard and honors) love that I chunk the material--especially when they go to "War." Thank you so much for the much need help. I wish I had had this training before the school year started.

This was very in depth and insightful training with resources and materials to help build better engagement in the classroom.

I honestly did not find this resource worth the investment. I was hoping it would give me the tools I needed to revamp my intervention math classes. I did not find the resources useful enough to implement in my classroom. Added to this is the frustration of getting emails constantly flooding my inbox. If I could get a refund I would ask for it.

I watched the replay of Juliana’s session at the ‘Make Math Moments’ virtual summit. It is the end of the school year in Australia and this was my first year tutoring maths with small groups of Year Five students. Juliana’s explanations of ‘Just in Time’ and ‘Just in case’ were very helpful, and I will use her ‘Just in time step 1 and 2 planner next year to be really clear with my planning.

I recently attended a PD session with Juliana. I have to be honest it was the most enriching experience with practical applications you can walk away with and implement immediately. I have implemented a lot of what she taught us. I also deeply appreciate how responsive she is with replying back to the million questions I have. She is passionate about her work and goes out of her way to help. I just wish we had this type of training in our credentialing program.
