Money taken out of my account - no info or invoice given.
They took money out of my account via direct debit without any communication or invoice. After reaching out to them asking why I'm repeatedly being charged (by now accumulates to 145 extra charge on top of my actual bills) customer support sent me a message claiming they don't have any incoming transactions from me apart from the yearly fees.
Their accounting seems to be completely messed up. After sending them proof of the transactions showing their IBAN (same iban as the yearly fees) they didn't respond to me anymore. Filing this feedback now as I'm absolutely speechless that they would not prioritize taking care of this issue even after proof is provided that they'd taken random amounts of money from an account. I've cancelled the direct debit since so they won't take anything out anymore but seriously city bin - how can this happen? I'm suspecting they've put my IBAN towards another household - but that's a huge data breach and how that can be left unaddressed is just not clear to me and the whole situation totally unacceptable. In addition my bank data was changed a while ago and they collect money now from both my accounts instead of switching to the new one. Can live with a lot of things but these slow / non existing responses and lack of owning their mistakes for basically scaming me is so unacceptable.
Update: They indeed had used my IBAN for another household. I am waiting for my money now, however it was a cumbersome process. Also want to point out that offering customers a credit note on their city bin account for taking money illegally out of their bank account is not ok. I'm basically giving you a loan for money you stole from me.
I haven't received my money back yet, but hopefully will soon. However I would've at least expected some sort of discount for this mess.
Not happy about this and unsure whether I can renew a contract with that company. I would expect handling issues like this with priority. Not great
Update 2: 8 days have passed since city bin called me and promised me my refund. I'm not sure if they intentionally avoided confirming anything via email. I have not received any communication since the call nor have I gotten the stolen money back.

Absolutely terrible service
We signed up with City Bin over two months ago. They have never come on the date they said they will. They have had to repeatedly send out crews on other days to pick up our trash. We call and email every single week, and they promise to fix it every week, and every week they don't pick up the trash again. I'm at my wit's end just trying to get a trash company to pick up trash that I've already paid for. The service center people are very apologetic and nice, but the problem is never fixed.

APALLING SERVICE. Green bin not collected in over a month. I rang the company to explain it was not collected and they told me to leave it out the following day. It was never collected then either. I rang again they apologised and said they would give a discount of 10 Euros and this never happened. I was told to leave bin out again and it was never collected. I rang to make a complaint again and I was told that they put a note on the computer. I left bins out again and NEVER COLLECTED. Today I was told to leave the bin out again tomorrow. The company however make sure to take my bin payments but 'don't provide the service. I live on a busy road so its evident to the world my bins are not being collected. How hard is it for staff to do their job. It is appalling and the customer service team don't seem to be able to do anything to rectify the problem. It is a disgusting non existent service that I am paying for. I DO NOT RECCOMMEND ANYONE SIGNING UP TO THIS COMPANY AS YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED AT THEIR LACK OF CARE AND PROFESSIONALISM.

1 of the problems yes ( Problems ) is if you Miss a payment the EBS charges 12.87 i have asked the Red Bin Company this is a situation that benefits The Red Bin Company & the EBS but not the Customers also the low weight limit on the General Waste Bin. I have emailed & phoned The Red Bin Company only to hear sorry we can Not Help YOU....I Would Encourage Others to Go to your Local Recycle Centre all paper cardboard bottles of all sorts...also free all Electrical Appliances Big & Small totally Free Service...The Red Bin Company is a Company that needs to listen & help it's Customers like me MR Murphy 0879368941
Excellent Customer Service
Rarely have to contact City Bin as their service runs so well, but whenever I do their customer service is excellent. They’re easy to get in touch with, friendly and very helpful. Really make you feel they care about their customers, which hasn’t been my experience with other refuse collection companies.
Customer service has gone down hill
Customer service has gone down hill the last 12 months.
Couldn`t get through to a customer service rep to update my payment card and nor can it be done online.
Then try to charge a fee because I couldn`t get through.
Their response was I should waste my time trying to get through to their inadequate customer support.
This the same company that I use to tell everyone was great.
When I said I will look at another provider the response was go ahead, they can advise not to.

Absolutely terrible service do not use! City bin kept forgetting to empty our bins despite us leaving them out, so they sent us new bins, but never picked up the old ones. We have left our old bins outside 4 times and they have still not picked them up. On top of that they also now haven't emptied the new ones they have given us. So now we have 6 full bins and none of them have been picked up or emptied . We have now cancelled our service with them but we have to wait til they pick up the 6 bins they have sent out to us before we can get a new bin service. In short they are completely incompetent and have left us in a terrible situation.
City Bin are winners for me.
We were with Greyhound up to about 4 years ago, but their billing system was weird, and they wouldn't let us use the plan that our next door neighbours were on, plus their customer service were downright rude.
Changed to City Bin abt 4 years ago and haven't regretted it once. Customer services are so helpful about getting the best value package and bins are collected in our area at 7am each Monday. Once they missed our collection but came back on Saturday to do it. Highly recommend them. John
Terrible customer service customer, threatening letters and overcharged.
After being a customer for over 5 years overpaying their service as the competition is significantly cheaper with better service I called them to inform I was moving company and they tried to match the new company price but still were significantly more expensive than others. After I informed that I would indeed change and gave them a full month’s notice, they never collected their old bins and I was served a very threatening letter saying that I had urgent payment overdue (no idea how as I paid via DD for 5 years never missing a single payment) and I was required to call their number urgently to avoid escalation which I did.
I was impolitely answered by Abraham saying that I never gave them enough notice (1 month) and that they had extra charges for me (more than a month’s subscription of the competition ) for just half of their billing cycle. I promptly paid over the phone with my card happy that I would never deal with them again.
Beware of them and their substancial charges, average service and extra charges when you try to leave.

Do not believe anything Customer Services tell you! They didn't collect our bin 4 days ago, I have called several times to be told they'll return our calls, they never did. So they waste our time, tell lies, keep me on hold, don't collect the bin and expect to be paid :(
Top class company.
The City Bin Co are exceptional. They are prompt, efficient and clean. Their customer service staff are wonderful. They are informed, helpful and courteous. I can't recommend them highly enough.

They charge exactly what they said they would, and offer clear communication. Which is brilliant after years with a Dublin competitor.
Service is going down the hill
I've been with this company for a long time and originally thought it was the best customer service one could ever experience.
However, today I was experiencing a different level of service. After talking to 3 (!!!) different customer service representatives this morning I see things have changed a lot!
All of the trouble is for contaminated green bin (1 accidental cable). When I asked what was the solution, I was advised the bin (mind here full to the top) would be collected in TWO weeks time. I was not even given an option to process the waste as non-recyclable the following week.
On a second attempt I was asked to take a pen and write things down:)
Finally, called 3rd time to ask to collect the bin and terminate my contract. I was advised to take contaminated trash OUT of my green bin, put it in my grey bin. So basically their trucks can see color and cannot lift a green bin on a grey bin collection day (I am being sarcastic, of course).
Very very sad.
On the Ball
This company are on the ball and have their communications down pat. They return your emails promptly. They take the agreed amount out of your account when it is due. The bin guys put your bins back where they found them, unlike Greyhound who used to throw them a few hundred metres away where you would have to go looking for them. They text you when your bin is due to go out, and what colour bin it should be. It's not rocket science but a lot of Irish companies could learn how to improve their customer service by copying what City Bin do.
I don’t recommend at all
I don’t recommend at all - we are loyal customers for years- always could leave out an extra bag of recycling as long as presented in a clear bag. The City Bin Co. have changed this policy you now have to prebook which understand but for the last 3 weeks we have done this (prebooked) and each time the waste has not been removed. City bin did not inform customers if the new change of needing to prebook either. The only reason the extra recycling was taken this morning was because my husband went out to the truck to talk with them guess what our booking was still not in the list. No communication absolutely appalling.
Really Happy with Service
Have been a customer for several years and got all my family members to swap over also. Waste collection is not very glamorous but they do a great job of it and I've had no problems at all with them (unlike previous 2 companies I used). High recommended!
