Bought 2 Sets off Chess Bazaar Great price's, no problems, Fed Ex Delivered, Happy Bunny.

I just want to thank you once again for your transparency and let you know that I’ll be happily watching for the upcoming updates to your product descriptions and labels, since that commitment to customer protection and clarity is truly admirable.

Absolutely shocking customer service, spoils the reputation of the company.

Ordered 3 chess sets from their catalogue, on back order, and one custom build.

Received the 3 back ordered sets in the same week, 2 absolutely perfect in design and execution; the third absolutely perfect in execution but with the wrong rooks and pawns. This is not a mere detail - these are meant to be exact or very close replicas of historic chess sets, which they have done before. They know the design, and they have the tooling.

Tldr After several weeks of stories and excuses they eventually admitted that the pieces were wrong, but they refused to provide replacement pieces, with various excuses. So under their terms and conditions, since this was clearly seller mistake, I asked for return and refund on this set only. Since we'd had a lot of email correspondence with about the custom build, I thought we had a rapport, and didn't think that this would be an issue since it was clear cut. Meanwhile, for months they made excuses about delaying the delivery of the custom build, for which they have never provided evidence they've started. I had been totally patient and understanding about this throughout. So when I asked for a refund on the back order AND for photographic evidence of progress on the custom build, imagine my shock when they immediately turned nasty: not only did they refuse the refund request, they informed me that because of my refund request, they had "stopped work" on the custom build (taking all my money with them). They have stopped answering all my emails. I copied the boss into all of this, no avail.

I really don't know what the problem is there, because the product is fantastic. But I will never deal with them again. Next stop, credit company.

Absolute nightmare of a shop. Purchased 2 higher value artisan chess sets, one arrived looking like something you’d find at Walmart. Completely trashy and hastily assembled. The other set was damaged upon arrival. After providing numerous photos as proof, the company said they would issue me a refund. However, it has been over a month now, and zero refund. They have similarly chosen to ignore my email communications. I have to now resort to legal action against this fraudulent company, and will win. However, I strongly caution EVERYONE to avoid doing business here, if you do not want the same to happen to you.

The pieces are to be coupled with a Ebony/Tiger wood board. Creating an elegant enhanced, library Set. Adding
the glossy lacquer finish adds tremendously to my "personal" chess pleasures. Thanks for exceeding expectations.

Order came in much faster than it was mentioned in the describtion. I'm located in Europe and it took less than a week. Package was secured very well. The quality of the wood and the pieces is just outstanding considering the price. Those things are hand-made so if you are looking for "perfection" than get yourself a plastic set.

When I found Chessbazaar I started to look for opinions on internet. I was a bit suspicious about how the ones on website were so positive and on other websites you can find bad ones, but still I decided to take a risk and I can honestly recommend ordering from them.

I brought the collector series chess set in Ebonized box wood with foldable solid wooden board. I was stunned by the quality of the craftsmanship, the pieces were a little smaller than what I expected but on the other hand, the set was perfect for analysis or a proper game at home where you might have a limited space.
ChessBazaar is true to their promise. I had some defective pieces and I contacted them. There was no fuss in the process at all and ChessBazaar had quickly sent the replacement pieces through normal shipment.

The best place to buy chess sets in the world.

I needed a great board for my favorite set...this was it...the 55 mm sized squares fit my world fide championship chess pieces perfectly and it looks wonderful too!

They ship fast, their products have value for money, they inform you if there is a sale and their sale have very big discount. They give you credit every time you buy. Its easy to fill out the orders and you can track the order. Their chess pieces are quite detailed in carving. Their price is way better than other companies without compromise in quality.

Very professional company, i bought the 1972 Reproduced Fischer-Spassky Staunton Pattern Chess Pieces V2.0 in Ebonized Boxwood & Antiqued Boxwood - 3.75" King, and everything went ok, the pieces are great, the delivery was fine, and quick. I even got a India made certificate, which is a nice touch. I recomend.

This is my first purchase at ChessBazaar, the smokey Stauton pieces 3.8" king, in bud rosewood and boxwood. I received it earlier today, which took about 5 days to ship to Canada discounting all the weekend (if including two weekends it was about 10 days total because there was a long weekend). The wait was worth it, the set is beautiful, and packaged really well. Every piece is wrapped individual so there is no chance for damage. The product pictures online are well representation of the appearance of product in person.

The carrier used was FedEx to ship to Canada. When you store online checkout, you have to pay custom tax (about $25CAD for my purchase) so there are no additional cost incurred after checking out to when you received your order. I'm happy that I know how much I spent in total right after checkout and there is no surprise of additional charge on delivery.

A little tip of advise is if you are buying from outside of USA, the site checks out in USD. So unless you are buying in usd there could be a little currency adjustment than that of display at checkout in other currencies. For instance, if the product is 70 usd, in Canadian the chess set will show up as about 100 cad. Use this 100 cad as an estimation only because when you check out at PayPal it will be in USD and the exchange might be a little higher due to exchange rate charge at PayPal or credit card. Just need to factor this into the final cost before making your purchase then it's all good.

One note to ChessBazaar to improve on is to response to order inquiries faster. It takes 5 days to get a response, thought it was not really helpful. If you are reading this, ChessBazaar, I like to buy more chess sets from you. Your product is too notch and I hope your customer support is as well. Will definitely buy more soon, because the first purchase was just a test of water.
