Checkmytaxrefund Scam Artists.
Currently having a terrible time with Checkmytaxefund.ie What a scam of a company. They claim to have received my refund and are requesting my bank details. They want to take over 700euro of my refund which is 29%. Absolute madness. Daylight robbery. I would never agree to this. Apparently my details were given to them last April 2024 according to my own email search.. pretty sure i would recall signing up to this. The signature doesnt even look like mine on the Form2. No contact from them until January 2025 to state they have my refund. Emails back and forth, and they're still not listening or acknowledging my requests. I have requested them to return my refund to the Revenue so I can retrieve it rightfully. Absolute joke. I also see on their website that they're not accepting new clients so obviously the company is closing or something of a sort.

Next time if you want to charge 30%!!! of my tax relief, try to answer phone calls and answer ALL THOSE EMAILS INMEDIATLY, and make the service extremely efficient and premium because you don’t have any right and good reason to charge such a non sense amount.. many agencies ask only for 10% and they’re really efficient and reliable at least to have a real person answering any inquiries via phone call… but no, you just have a recorded voice saying that you’re not attending phone calls January and February.. exactly the months that everybody is asking for tax refunds!.. website looks like a scam.. I was looking for your phone number and your website crashed and never worked proper for 3 days.. dreadful service, don’t ever think to use this service if you want to gift your money for incompetent service, 350€ wasted for something that it was easy just do it by yourself, and they proceed with my taxes without telling me and letting me know to proceed under my criteria!! just to make me pay another 30%.. and thank you for give my money back… but you don’t deserve even a cent for your incompetence and greedy intentions

We can confirm that our phone lines are working, and we have been responding to your emails since 15 January 2024 regarding your payment.
Regarding our fee, you signed up with our company on 5 September 2024 at 21:31. During the process, you input your personal details, including full name, address, date of birth, and PPS number, along with your contact information. On the first page of our website, it clearly states that we operate on a ‘No Win, No Fee’ basis, which informs all clients that we charge a fee for our services. You were also required to sign and tick the box to confirm that you had read, acknowledged, and agreed to our Terms and Conditions, including our fee.
Additionally, under the signature box, there is a section explaining what you are signing for, including the fee of 29% plus VAT. At no point has our fee been hidden, and we can confirm that it is clearly outlined on our website.
When we received your first payment, we informed you via email and requested your bank details to issue the payment. Once the payment was transferred to your bank account, you were notified by email. We also explained that we would check your Revenue account annually. Since we did not receive any further correspondence from you indicating that you were dissatisfied with our service or our fee, we assumed you were content with the process.
While we understand that the service may not have been as fast as you had hoped, we did complete the payment within a reasonable timescale, and many companies take longer.
You mentioned that you could do this for free, and indeed, we charge 29% plus VAT. However, you were aware of this fee from the previous claim we submitted on your behalf.

Please note that the payment we received was for your wife, not for you. We also received correspondence from your wife, including her bank details. She provided these details via email on 21 January, and the payment was issued to her account on 25 January.
Furthermore, you were notified via email that the payment had been sent. While we typically advise 5-7 working days for processing, the payment was successfully issued within 4 days.
Given this, we recommend that you speak with your wife, as your review contains incorrect and misleading information.

Guys , all of you complaining about the cut they took are clearly thick . This is stated when you sign up , 29%. And also that they will act as an agent for you with the revenue .
If you failed to realise this then you deserve to be scammed.
I have received two payments of them since mid December .
I am not standing up for them as it was a shocking service and I had to email and ring them one or more times a day.
But people spouting crap about not knowing what they signed up for and reporting them to the guards is ridiculous .
You signed up for it , willingly with all the t's and C's stated . They have abysmal communication with customers and the method of taking their cut and leaving you in limbo whilst holding onto YOUR money without setting expectations or replying to communications is infuriating .
I was in the same boat , and got freaked reading reviews here from keyboard warriors in fits of anger that it's a scam.
It isn't , they take thier cut which you should have clearly seen when signing up and you will get your money , alas it's an absolute struggle and I had to pester them constantly .
So stop jumping on the band wagon that it's a scam etc after a few days / a week as I read these reviews whilst I was climbing the walls pestering them with no reply and the crap on here only serves to infuriate folk awaiting their rebate and spread propaganda that's it a scam...that's the effect some of these reviews had on me and I was ready to take the law Into my own hands as I was filled with rage and felt embarrassed that I got sucked into a scam,hence I dont want anyone else feeling like this and am primarily writing this review to put people's mind at ease that were in the same boat as me
I have got two payments of over a grand each since I applied in December .

I used Check My Tax Refund Limited to claim my tax refund over two months ago, and I am still waiting for my payment. I have tried reaching out multiple times but have yet to receive a clear update or timeframe for when I can expect my refund.
Additionally, I was very concerned to discover that my tax documents were signed without my knowledge or consent. After checking with Revenue, I learned that there was nothing left to claim, which suggests that the refund has already been processed—but I have not received any payment from [Company Name].
I understand that delays can happen, but I now expect a clear response regarding the status of my refund. I have come across multiple reviews from others experiencing similar issues, and if this matter is not resolved promptly, I will have no choice but to take legal action. I am fully prepared to pursue this through the Small Claims Court with my solicitor if necessary.
Please consider this my final attempt to resolve the issue amicably. I am relying on these funds to help care for my mother, and the continued lack of communication has caused me significant stress.

A welcome email, including all signed documents, was sent to the email address you used for your application—this is the same email address you have contacted us from and where we have sent all correspondence.
During the application process, you were required to sign and agree to our terms and conditions by using a finger, stylus, or mouse. No claim can be submitted without a signature. Once signed, all documents were generated automatically, and a confirmation email was sent to you containing the signature you provided. The signature box explicitly outlines what you are signing for, meaning you were fully aware and consented to the use of your signature.
Additionally, you have been informed that no claim was submitted on your behalf. We have thoroughly reviewed your records for the tax years 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024, and there is no record of tax paid during these periods. As a result, you were not eligible for a refund.

We eventually got our money after numerous emails & ringing constantly!!! Never got an answer but if you wait for the beep it goes to answer phone. It took over a month of chasing them. A really disgraceful service in my opinion.

Avoid this company at all costs! They forged my signature on their application form without my consent and processed a tax refund on my behalf without my authorization. Specifically, they requested revenue to issue a refund to them on January 3, 2025. This company is nothing short of a scam operation.
They do not respond to emails sent to info@, nor can you rely on their phone number (01) 5259869 for any support or resolution. I strongly advise against using this company for any tax rebate services.
I have reported them to the Financial Ombudsman and the Data Protection Commission (DPC) in Ireland to investigate their handling of my personal data. If you are experiencing similar issues, I urge you to take the same steps and report them to the relevant authorities.
Their behavior is appalling, dishonest, and unprofessional. They ignore follow-up attempts and act with complete disregard for their clients.

Secondly, regarding your claim that we "stole your money," we firmly disagree. By submitting your application, you authorised us to act as your agent, including submitting your Rent Tax Credit claim on your behalf. The information provided in the application could only have come from you. Additionally, you explicitly agreed to our terms and conditions by selecting the acknowledgement box during the application process.
