Avoid using this rip off company
Avoid using this rip off company, charged almost 2k for minor scratches that were hardly noticeable! Felt like the miserable guy who collected my car was trying to find items on purpose to get commission.
The whole experience has put me off leasing all together!
Cars on demand also got me a CCJ for missing one month payment, got very vicious demanding money and caused so much stress.
Do not use cars on demand as you will regret it.

We strongly dispute the characterisation of events in this review.
The vehicle was returned in 2023 under a fixed 6-month agreement. During the term, you advised that you were experiencing financial difficulty. In response, we made a clear exception to our standard terms to assist you—rather than applying our usual early termination charge of of the remaining agreement, we reduced this to just the month already in progress before ending the contract.
We also agreed to a payment plan for the outstanding balance, which was completed over an extended period.
The charges applied at the end of the agreement were not for “minor scratches,” but for damage outside of fair wear and tear, including an alloy wheel and a door panel requiring repair. The total cost of these repairs was £300 + vat and was applied in line with industry standards.
The final balance—covering both the reduced early termination and repair costs—remained below the £2,000 referenced.
We categorically reject the suggestion that our staff act dishonestly or are incentivised to identify damage. All vehicle inspections are conducted in line with established guidelines.
We appreciate that financial situations can be challenging; however, in this case, we acted reasonably, applied discretion in your favour, and followed agreed processes throughout.

I had an excellent experience with Cars on Demand and would happily recommend them. From the initial booking through to vehicle return, everything was handled efficiently and professionally. The car was clean, well‑maintained, and exactly as described, which made the whole process straightforward and stress‑free.
I would particularly like to praise Jenny Shaw, who provided outstanding customer service. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and very responsive, ensuring everything was clearly explained and handled smoothly. Her professionalism and attention to detail really stood out and made a big difference to the overall experience.
Great service, great people, and very good value for money. I will definitely be using Cars on Demand again.

Rip off merchants
Rip off merchants. Got 'brand' new cheap Peugeot for around five months, with 400 miles on the clock. Here is the list of supposed damage (probably worth 5% of a brand new car:
Offside front polished wheel – diamond cut repair required – £115
Nearside rear polished wheel – diamond cut repair required – £115
Nearside front polished wheel – diamond cut repair required – £115
Nearside front tyre – replacement required – £130
Offside rear door, nearside rear door, and offside front door – cold dent repair required – £90
We were apparently given log books which we don't recall having and were charged £90.
Reporting them to Trading Standards.

The customer received delivery of a brand-new vehicle, supplied in clean, zero damage condition and accompanied by all standard materials, including the manufacturer’s handbooks. At the time of delivery, the customer signed the handover documents acknowledging receipt of the vehicle and all associated items.
When the vehicle was collected it exhibiting substantial and avoidable damage. The wheels, in particular, showed severe impact-related harm to the extent that sections of metal were missing—a level of deterioration inconsistent with normal use. Furthermore, the handbook supplied with the vehicle were no longer present, despite the customer’s prior confirmation that they had been received.
In order to resolve the issue, we provided the customer with comprehensive evidence: dated photographs of the vehicle’s condition at delivery, the signed handover documentation, and the inspection report taken upon its return. When invited to explain the discrepancies and the condition of the vehicle, the customer offered no clarification. Instead, they discontinued communication and made no attempt to address or resolve the matter.
The customer had suggested that the contractual terms and conditions—terms they reviewed and agreed to upon entering the agreement—do not apply to them. However, our obligations and the customer’s responsibilities are clearly outlined in the contract and apply equally to all parties.
We remain willing to engage in constructive dialogue should the customer wish to resolve the issue in a fair and transparent manner.

JENNY SHAW arranged the car for me, she was absolutely AMAZING!! Jenny was so helpful, her telephone manner was exemplary, she was crystal clear explaining options to suit my needs and gave me all the time I needed to organise detail including helping me sort out my insurance in real time!
I would highly recommend Cars on Demand to anyone and would definitely use their services again, just hope Jenny would be available...

i have had 2 vehicles over the last…
i have had 2 vehicles over the last year from cars on demand and i cannot fault them. genuinely down to earth people from the sales lady to the delivery man. the two vehicles were literally brand new and the process was very easy. got a list of cars, picked one, did the paperwork and it was delivered the next day. there were damages on the return but i was only charged for the one damage which was called for. i don't understand how people don't expect a few charges on a brand new car if you have only had it for a few month and damaged it. (imagine if it was your 40k car) that's why you take insurance out. would not hesitate to recommend

After checking several sites
After checking several sites , I came upon cars on demand. Spoke to a lovely lady called Jenny at 4pm Wednesday evening, she helped me no end, and by 12.30 pm the very next day a car was delivered to my front door. 105 miles away.
I found everyone completely helpful, pleasant and polite.

Avoid this company. Should have looked at the reviews before i booked. Everyone cannot be wrong. They Penalise you for the smallest scratch as one review stared the Ben guy is everything stated. Disgusting animal wish i could give no stars. The day they go bankrupt will be a good day for us all. Anyone one giving these people good ratings are scam reviews AVOID AVOID AVOID

WORST LEASING COMPANY OUT THERE AVIOD AT ALL COST
Avoid Cars on Demand at all costs. The company is a mess from start to finish -unreliable, misleading, and clearly more interested in taking your money than providing any real service. One colleague in particular, Ben, is a nasty piece of work. Rude, arrogant, and completely untrustworthy. The whole experience felt like a scam, and I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone. Save your time, money, and sanity - go elsewhere.

I have had only excellent service through Cars on Demand, I’m now in my forth car, third year leasing with them at a mid- range category (£30-40k value cars)

Used them last year and had a great experience. I needed another car for a few months from April to last week so used them again.
They supplied a DS3 auto which was very good. They delivered and collected the car as agreed and all went well - can highly recommend.

We regret that you felt the need to make defamatory comments without leaving any factual review or details of why you feel the need to make untrue allegations.
We believe that you received the car in excellent condition, on time as agreed, and that you had no issues with the service provided until the point you requested the early return of the car before the end of your contracted hire period.
You also requested a change of payment method due to your mortgage application. You provided a new card as an authorised payment method. You have suggested to us that at the time you changed the card on file, you requested the new card was not used again after the payment was made. Unfortunately we do not have a record of this, and as your normal payment card would not authorise for subsequent payments, and despite requests for a payment to be made, our system charged the card on file as your authorised payment method due to the invoices being overdue and having not received a response from you.
We regret this may have caused you an issue, however, to accuse us of somehow doing something untoward due to an issue that was not of our making is unfair and untrue.
Subsequent to the return of the car, despite your comments, we are attempting to assist you in mitigating any costs for the replacement or repair of the windscreen damage that you incurred.
We have made representations to Trustpilot about the integrity of their policies regarding reviews, particularly when untrue and potentially defamatory comments are made, as in this case.

Hired whilst waiting for new car
I was waiting for a new car so needed to bridge the gap and didn’t want to buy one. Cars on Demand was great as they did exactly that. Car was delivered and I paid on a month on month basis so no long term commitment. Jordan came to collect it and was friendly, efficient and helpful. I would use again and recommend.

Excellent experience with this company
I usually do not put reviews on the internet but given how different my experience is from many comments I see, I thought I’d make an exception. We have used Cars-on-demand twice now, for 1-2 months temporary cars and the service has been excellent. Our contact, Jenny, is brilliant - super responsive and helpful, making the whole process very smooth. Delivery/collection service also very professional. From my experience the inspection of the car was as “forensic” at delivery than at collection, with a detailed report, including many pictures of the (already) existing small scratches/dents. On both occasion, the collection process was smooth and no extra charges were take from us. Both cars were overall in very good condition. One downside of their offer is that the lease is not paid “pro-rata” after the 1st month - something to bear in mind when you’re renting with them (hopefully something they can improve in the future). But overall I would highly recommend this company !

Terrible experience
I wish I read the comments before renting a car with this company. As other customers have pointed out, they charge you for unreasonable/ non existing damages, to the point where I had to ask them to circle the supposed damage on the picture they sent me as it was impossible to spot, not to mention it could have been caused at any point during collection or even been there beforehand (it's a shame you can't upload pictures as it would have been a great example of what's been explained on other comments too). I wish I took pictures of every inch of the car on delivery including the tiniest areas inside the doors.
They also delayed the collection time three times causing a lot of disruption and when I pointed this out they replied advising they felt they've been very accommodating...
I'll definitely never use this company again and surely advise to avoid it at all cost.

We regret that you feel the need to leave a poor review and that you feel that we have made a charge that was unreasonable.
We do believe that we had provided you with a very high level of service and had been very accommodating, particularly with the delivery of your car after numerous changes were made by yourself at the last minute due to flight delays.
We did arrange the collection with you, and you advised that you would not be available and your husband would be present to hand the car over. On the day of collection, due to traffic delays, we called your husband to confirm a revised time and he confirmed this was OK. We are unsure why therefore you state that we caused disruption to you.
With regards the damage, on the day of collection, it was too dark and wet to fully inspect the car and therefore our collection driver took multiple images of the exterior and interior of the car. On inspection of the car during daylight, the damage to the drivers side door frame was more visible. We sent you the image of the damage from the original photos taken on collection, on which the chip to the paint could be seen and a dent could be made out - probably caused by the seatbelt buckle catching in the door frame. We accept that the image, due to the darkness and wet condition of the car at the point of collection, did not clearly show the dent, however the paint chip is clearly visible. We sent a clearer image with better lighting on which the dent could be made out, and after some communication with you whereby you said you still could not see it, we sent an image with the damage circled. We have reviewed the images and it is visible along with the paint chip.
Regardless of this, as a gesture of goodwill, we agreed to reduce the charge with you by 50% to £65.00 + VAT which you accepted. We are therefore surprised that you now state that we have somehow acted improperly.
Unfortunately, damage to cars is always a contentious issue, and we do our utmost to ensure we only charge for damage that exceeds normal wear and tear, and that is clearly caused during the term of hire with the customer. We do feel that our charges in this case were fair however, we are sorry that you do not agree with this.
We do still feel however that we provided a high level of service and that your review does not fairly reflect this.
A great company to lease your next car
Cars on Demand are a lovely company to lease a car from. They have a wide range of vehicles to choose from and Jenny was a super helpful and understanding of my needs. The brand new car was delivered in a timely manner by two very friendly guys who took their time to explain all the features. It was not a problem to extend my lease term as my shipped car was delayed. When I arranged for the car to be collected (3 months later) I had moved house and it wasn't a problem or extra charge. I highly recommend leasing your next car from Cars on Demand.
