I love how fast and effective they respond to all my doubts. I also love how they go into detail explaining everything I have to do.

Every step of the way was clear, I knew what I had to do every time. And if I came across any difficulty there was always someone to help me out.

I find the hiring fairs very useful because you can just do it all at once, instead of being nervous for a lot of time.

Overall It was an amazing experience and I would recommend It any time.

Zu Beginn war ich sehr begeistert vom Prinzip von Camp Leaders, registrierte mich und überwies die ersten anfallenden Gebühren. Als mein Account freigeschaltet wurde, konnte ich mich bei Camps bewerben. Allerdings stellte sich dies als unerwartet kompliziert heraus, da jede Bewerbung sehr ausführlich sein musste, um überhaupt zu einem Interview eingeladen zu werden.

Im Interview wurde mir gesagt, dass ich perfekt ins Camp passe und innerhalb von zwei Tagen eine Rückmeldung erhalten würde. Stattdessen wartete ich mehrere Wochen nur, um letztendlich abgelehnt zu werden. Der gesamte Bewerbungsprozess ist extrem zeitaufwendig, und wenn man nicht sofort angenommen wird, steigen die Flugpreise immer weiter. Dadurch schrumpfen die versprochenen 2.000 $, die man für die Arbeit erhält, schnell zusammen.

Alles in allem ist der Aufwand für eine Stelle enorm, und die lange Wartezeit sowie die Unsicherheit machen den Prozess sehr frustrierend. Ich hätte mir mehr Transparenz und eine effizientere Abwicklung gewünscht.

I’m making this post just so other people are aware of what I’ve experienced and so better educated on what may happen to them. This isn’t to bash the service and I’m happy for people who’ve had a great experience, but unfortunately for me, I feel scammed and I feel like it’s important prospective counsellors are aware that if you decide to drop out all you money that goes towards basically a hiring interview is flushed down the drain...

CAMP LEADERS WILL NOT REFUND YOU
I originally wanted to try out Camp America(Leaders), but I was put off by the expectation to pay before you’ve even learned anything about the process, camps, services etc. So I went through CampCanada, I did it a couple of times and loved it, whilst I don’t think they’re the most transparent in explaining to you what your payments are going towards (they straight up refused to give me an itemised bill lol) they still only expect payment AFTER you’ve been accepted onto a role with a camp - so if you don’t get hired, you drop out, you’re ill, you have a family problem etc etc. they do not charge you - which in my mind, makes perfect sense.
I saw that Camp Leaders was recently taken on under the mother company Small(er?) Earth which Camp Canada is under. I still wanted to go to America so I thought hey why not, I felt like I trusted the Camp Canada services that I could trust Camp Leaders… WRONG lol
First thing - they DO NOT tell you that your deposit is non-refundable until after you pay, crazy?
Then they basically paywall the contract, so again, you don’t learn that the rest in non-refundable until after you’ve paid again.
I didn‘t think about any of this cause I trusted their service and believed, given what the website says, that refunds are negotiable not down right refused***.***
So, they paywall the camps… and also majority of the jobs listed by the camps… Don’t exist, and Camp Leaders DOES NOT tell you that, you have to go out of your way to contact the camps to find that out - so you’re paying money for a service which doesn‘t actually do anything for you, so you might as well contact the camps yourself before bothering with Camp Leaders.
I decided to drop out for a mix of, I had a family issue that meant I’d need to be home for summer, but also the fact that the service was unbelievably unhelpful made me think, I don’t really want to sink in more money anyway.
So I asked for a refund. I assumed, it’s 100 pounds, this company is massive and multiglobal, they won’t miss that amount of money (but me lol yes) so I politely asked for a refund, they said no and I gave them reasons why.
Every.Single. Email. that i sent, they completely ignored my concerns or why I wanted a refund, or that fact I literally proved to them I wasn’t breaching contract, girl I even went as far as looking into consumer rights, which they breach! They didn’t care, just a no every time, eventually ignoring me.
Anyway, I hope this helps someone, and I hope it‘s a clear psa that despite how sparkly their advertising seems and despite how much it says “don’t worry, you’ll get to ‘discuss’ being refunded 🤪” … they won’t.

I had high hopes when I signed up for Camp Leaders, but unfortunately, my experience was deeply disappointing and frustrating. Instead of being a rewarding summer abroad, it turned into an exhausting and costly ordeal. To start, I ended up spending far more money than I earned. After covering all the fees, travel expenses, etc. The camp I was placed at didn’t help matters, as they didn’t provide any real support. I had to figure out how to get from the airport to the camp on my own – which, in a foreign country like the U.S., is far from easy. The food provided was another major issue. It was advertised as being “included,” but the quality was shockingly poor. It was so bad that it wasn’t enough to sustain you for even a week, let alone the ten weeks I was there. I often found myself having to spend extra money just to supplement what they provided. Ultimately, this experience felt like a massive letdown. I gained nothing close to what was promised – no real cultural exchange, and certainly no financial benefit. I wouldn’t recommend Camp Leaders to anyone based on my experience. The reality simply doesn’t match what they promote, and it left me feeling more disappointed than anything else.

What can I say? A great experience from start to finish!

I was guided through the sign up process and got through that with no issues at all.

My time at camp was truly sensational - getting paid to do fun stuff morning, noon and night, that's my idea of work heaven!

Following camp, I also got the chance to go off on a 3 week jolly on the west coast of the states.

Hoping to return this year, for another fantastic experience!

This isn’t a summer camp, it’s a sweatshop! Long 16-hour days for next to no money. Cramped rooms with bunkbeds, one tiny kitchen for everyone, and no sleep. The program picks really crappy camps. Camp Leaders? Useless! Promised support? Lies. Decent pay? Lies. Safe experience? LIES.
Don’t waste your time or money. It’s dangerous, exhausting, and not worth it. Stay away!

WARNING DO NOT GO TO ÀNY OF THESE USA SUMMER CAMPS WITH CAMP LEADERS. It's more like a slavery camp, I was put in a room sharing lots of bunkbeds, sharing one kitchen & bathroom. I was exhausted and left the camp on the 6th day. You don't get any sleep, people you work with party all night with loud music, alchol & drugs. You work from the moment you wake up till late and night. Only sharing one oven & a set of hobs. I rang Campleaders for help & ended up having to take a coach from Indiana to New York, I was chased accross america by men trying to take me. It was extremely Dangerous. I had to take Uber taxis, coaches & sort my plane to get back to England. I was very hungry at my camp also. I went to Summer camp in 2018. HOW IS THIS COMPANY STILL GOING??? CAMP LEADERS WHAT A JOKE. They Make out its all good but there's nothing good about it. I didn't even get paid for the 14 hour shifts I was working a day. I WAS ABOUT AGE 33 WHEN I WENT TO AMERICA AND IT WAS DANGEROUS FOR ME. CAMP LEADERS LIED & SAID I WOULD MEET OTHER CAMP LEADERS AT THE AIRPORT IN HEATHROW AIRPORT SO I WASNT FLYING ALONE DURING MY 9 HOUR FLEIGHT TO CHICARGO. They lied, I was all alone. It's a con to take all your student loan money. I'm lucky I got back to the uK alive. Someone needs to report this to New, journalists and newspapers. They are going to Universities & selling the Dream.

Amazing, so helpful never can ask a stupid question!! Staff are always wonderful be that through emails/phone calls - Special shout to Libby she is fantastic always super friendly, honest and reliable!!!!

All I have to say what an experience, camp leaders are there all the way though for advice camp was great meet new friends and hopefully see them again next year.
