When we purchased our van from a dealer in 2019, it had just come back from having undergone a full conversion by CamperKing. This included a full r&r set up, kitchen and pop top. The conversion on the face of it looked amazing, however the first thing to fail was the r&r catch under the bed failed and had to be welded. The next thing to go was the cheap Mppt controller that caused our battery to overcharge and swell dangerously. I ended up ripping the installed electrics out and re did it using Victron products throughout.
We then decided to remove the kitchen set up and re designed the whole interior. It wasn’t until the interior was removed that we saw the literal butchery that had gone on to do the original installation by CamperKing.
1) All the panelling, which is normally ply wood was instead like a pressed card and covered in 4 way stretch carpet. Not one of the factory holes for trim clips had been utilised Instead they had used self tappers anywhere and everywhere to attach the lining to the van frame. The 4 way carpet was merely glued over the top of every access panel trim and had to be cut if I needed access to the panelling to insert wiring.
2) When the water & 240v ports had been installed to the side of the van, they had merely cut the holes using some kind of saw. Then the plastic trims screwed to the side of the van. The bare steel hadn’t been painted or treated to prevent rusting in any way.
3) For reasons unbeknown to me, they had then cut the wheel arch framing on the inside of the van on the offside and smashed it down inside the framework. I can only assume they did this to make room for the piping and wiring, but it is a total mess. So much so, I have nowhere to clip my new trim to, as the frame just doesn’t exist. This is an ultimate ‘botch’.
4) There is absolutely no thermal or soundproofing installed by CamperKing. I am in possession of an email that claims they don’t install insulation, which beggars belief as it’s a necessity to prevent condensation build up.
5) The pop top securing strap clips/ brackets are totally misaligned. One is like 80mm from the outer frame Inwards, & the one in the other side is say 100mm +, making the whole alignment with the pop top wonky.
6) The curtain rails fitted around the windows in the living area just haven’t been installed properly at all. The end blanks are pushed in on top of protruding framing. They couldn’t even be bothered to bend the rail to fit snugly to the van frame.
7) The 12v led lights are ill fitting and just pop out of the cut holes. The ones installed in the pop top are a waste of space, as they just rattle around.
8) I am by no means a van converter, however since having my van I had done lots of modifications to my T6. I can hold my hand in my heart and say that had I paid for the conversion to a base van, I would absolutely be livid. Even down to the quality of the fitting of the 4 way stretch carpet throughout. Again, it is butchered at joins, trim fix glue overlap etc etc.
8) I have discussed the quality of my van build with numerous other conversion companies. So many have said they’ve heard bad things about CK installations, claiming it’s just a conveyor belt service.

In summary, I had pretty much removed and replaced the whole conversion from top to bottom. If you’re looking at a future conversion, by all means go to CK, but I’d definitely ask for photos of the van’s progress at every stage, & inspect it at length before accepting the van back. I have photos to back up all my review claims.

I have just purchased my second campervan with Camperking. After wanting to upgrade my previous T6 i got in contact with Danny once again. What a great guy he is to deal with, after dealing with him a few years ago i felt i wanted to continue the journey once again with him. He showed us around the T7 explaining the changes from the T6 and helped with our decision making. Danny kept me in touch the whole way from start to finish with the custom build and was always efficient and quick to help via phone or email. The team behind the scenes also exceeded my expectations with the build of our T7. On collection day i felt i ended up with a better T7 than i even expected. The best in the game!

We bought our VW t6 campervan via Alivia Towers. Alivia was fantastic right from the word go. I originally made enquires on a previous camper enquiring all different questions, asking for a videos of the vehicle before traveling over 2 hours away. Of which Alivia replied back instantly via a phone call. Where I was able to discuss my questions and concerns along with a video which was sent through. Alivia also sent through all the documentation of the warranty and details of the checks camper king do to rest my mind. We then decided to make a visit to camperking in banbury where Alivia was awaiting us, after a 2 hour car journey with a cup of tea, which was really welcoming. Alivia explained she had a campervan herself and understood, why we were getting one for our family adventures. We then discussed all the different types of campervans available, to help us decide what we wanted. Even going to the extent of explaining what we would not need, which was nice as it proved she was not just delivering a sales pitch. Showing us different types of beds and layouts which helped chose the type of campervan we wanted. Alivia even took us out for a test drive in one of the hire campervans. Alivia then showed us a different van which was very similar to the one we liked, which then confirmed the one we wanted. The pick up arrangement was difficult because of my work however after contacting Alivia, we was able to collect on a different day without any problem. Alivia went through all the paperwork with us going through the warranty making sure we understood, iterating any problems bring it straight back to get it sorted. When we did pick up our camper, there was a few niggles we noticed but Alivia had it all swiftly sorted while we waited. One of which was the thatcham tracker had not yet been fitted but within 30 mins Alivia had it installed, other wise our van insurance would of been void. Alivia was really good going above and beyond during the handover, that even as the store was shutting she was happy to answer any questions we had. Even after the sale Alivia made recommendations on all the kit we could get and on all the VW festivals we could go to. We are really glad we had Alivia to help us purchase our campervan with. We would definitely recommend her to anyone thinking of buying a campervan, she is worth her weight in gold. Very reassuring understanding, and down to earth.

After starting my journey with CamperKing Newcastle via email, the process of our Pursuit 4 was nothing short of exemplary.
Mark and the team made it very easy to get the final product to exactly what me and my family were looking for.
A few small changes due to lack of stock when it came to the floor choice but again Mark found a solution and settled the panic again. The whole process took 6weeks, from first contact to van drop off and the final collection.
The team also facilitated a the fitting of a vamoose awning rail and now the final van is nothing short of amazing.

Have purchased a new T7 from Camper King we are beyond impressed with the van and the service we have received. We part exchanged our current van the service we received when we bought that from another dealer was nothing in comparison to Camper King. We dealt with Danny who was so helpful - he did everything he said he was going to do when he said he would. So very knowledgable and enthusiastic.

The team at Newcastle camperking were all very friendly and helpful. They supported me through the whole process of buying the van and design advice. They offered great advice and useful tips, about the van , insurance , campsite apps and websites. They were all very approachable and happy to answer any of my queries being a first time campervan owner. The handover of the van was thorough and the van looks amazing and so comfortable to drive , looking forward to my new adventures as a campervan owner.

I have been a customer of Camper King for several years and have always travelled to the head office in Banbury. For this years habitation certificate I visited the Sutton branch which is quite new and saw Ralph & Aden.
The telephone booking went well as I wanted a first one of the day. They were very obliging.
The location meant it was only an hour away from me rather than the 2 hours to Banbury. On arrival I was greeted, had a chat and booked the van in. Whilst waiting I had a look round the stock vans, good selection showing many options for the model of van and the various interiors available. Walked to the suggested cafe which was perfect for a snack and a coffee. By the time I returned my van was all sorted. The paperwork was all ready for me and was dealt with in a friendly and professional manner.
Anyone looking to buy a camper van would benefit from visiting this branch where the staff are extremely knowledgable I would think anyone with a camper king van would be happy with the level of service from this branch.

Thoroughly enjoyed the whole process. Richard looked after me from the minute I walked into the store, to the minute I drove away with my completed dream wagon! No question was too difficult to answer, the whole process was efficient and really enjoyed working with them to create something special for me and my family. If you're in debate of where you're planning on getting your van built, I couldn't speak more highly!

From walking through the door and being greeted by a very friendly receptionist to bring shown all the vans that met my criteria and then being talked through the purchase process the whole team were fantastic. Alivia is very knowledgeable and made buying my van an absolute pleasure (excellent biscuits too!)

The build quality seems very good and the layouts are well thought out.

Just had my first weekend away in the van and loved every minute. I can't wait for more adventures.

What can I say? The experience of making our very special purchase of the new T7 Freedom has been fantastic.
Our first impressions of Camper King were at the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show in Birmingham last October.
From our very first meeting, the service we received was impeccable.
Jack booked us in for an appointment in Banbury a couple of weeks later, where we were introduced to Richard. He was very attentive, listened carefully to our requirements, and was able to source a van very quickly to be converted to our specifications.
At no time did we feel rushed in making such a big purchase decision. It was so exciting to be able to build a van to suit our own taste.
Richard kindly kept us up to date with the build via email and even sent us a professional video of the van prior to collection. At handover, Richard carefully demonstrated how everything worked and showed the patience of a saint while we asked many questions.
I checked the company’s reviews before making the appointment, and I can honestly say they are well deserved. Do not hesitate to contact this company if you are considering buying a new or second-hand camper van.

Just purchased our very first Campervan to enjoy during retirement. Visited Banbury several times during this process. All the staff were always very friendly and the showroom a joy to explore. Danny looked after us from start to finish and was always very patient, helpful and efficient . He advised with regard to the best Campervan to suit our needs, the layout within and all manner of colour choices etc! The product speaks for itself, Richard the salesman at HQ was very knowledgeable and his approach worked for us.
