“Defective plumbing design and impossible return policy for salon shampoo bowls”
I purchased three Luna Noir Backwash shampoo bowl units to install in my new salon. I purchased them based on the good reviews; they were $1,000 each.
They were installed by a licensed plumber. I continued to have leaking issues and them not draining. I contacted my plumber; he had to take them apart and reinstall them several times to stop the leak. Plumber's putty did not work, ultimately plumber's tape worked.
He also had to remove the original plumbing and install stable draining hoses. The ones that come with the bowls are very flimsy.
The area that holds the water tubes and shampoo hose, continues to leak. The rubber seal always seems to shift and causes leaking from the water. These are porcelain bowls that still had seal and hose issues.
I contacted Buy Rite Beauty to report the defects and my dissatisfaction with the product and requested a resolution. At that time, I was informed of their return policy stating that once the product is removed from the box and connected to a water source, it is not eligible for return. This policy was not made clear to me prior to installation. It states that you have a one- year warranty.
The only resolution Buy Rite Beauty offered was to send replacement plumbing parts. I advised them that replacement parts would not resolve the issue because the plumbing design itself is defective. I provided photos and videos documenting the leaks and drainage issues, yet they still insisted on only sending replacement plumbing.
These shampoo bowls are not suitable for professional salon use and required additional labor and replacement parts to function at a basic level.
It is very abysmal to have a policy for shampoo bowls that states "If your purchase isn't quite right, don't worry! Just notify us within 30 days, get a return authorization number, send the product back in its original packaging and unused condition".
"Unused Condition" is diabolical for shampoo bowls!!! They must be assembled and hooked up to a water source to make sure it functions properly.
I also purchased six Venus Gold All Purpose Styling Chairs, three Pibbs 515 Kwik Dryer with Wall Mount Hair Dryers and four Super Soft Shampoo Mats.
Being treated this way as a consumer that spent a total of $9,227.73 with the company is nefarious.
I would not recommend the Lunar Noir Backwash Shampoo Bowls or other tools and equipment from Buy-Rite Beauty to other professional salon owners based on my experience.
