The platform was built to solve a frustration familiar to anyone who has ever managed a construction project: the time lost hunting down materials, ringing round suppliers, and managing multiple accounts and invoices. BuyMaterials replaces that process with a single, simple workflow. Customers build a list of what they need, set a delivery date, and submit it to the network. Local merchants then compete for the business by submitting their best prices through the platform. The customer reviews the offers and places their order in one click. What used to take hours of phone calls and site visits now takes minutes. The platform serves three main audiences. Trade and professional customers, including builders, contractors and specialist tradespeople, benefit most from the time savings and the ability to manage multiple projects and materials lists in one place. Self-builders get access to competitive merchant pricing that has historically been difficult to secure without an established trade relationship. DIY and home customers can search thousands of products across categories including building materials, timber and sheet materials, plumbing and heating, electrical, fixings, tools and more. A key differentiator is the Universal Trade Account. Rather than applying for credit with each merchant individually, trade customers register once and gain access to 30-day credit terms across every merchant in the network. This removes one of the traditional barriers to switching suppliers and makes it practical to buy from whichever merchant offers the best price, rather than whichever one already has a credit file open. I can not fault these guys.
I can not fault these guys, I had to change the delivery date which was not a problem and then the supplier sorted a different lorry as no one but the wife was available to take the delivery. The delivery driver was fantastic.

I’ve used BuyMaterials team quite a bit over the last year or so. I have found there commitment to delivering a services with very high standards of customer service and focus very refreshing. They always go the extra mile and are always on hand to problem solve urgent material requirements.

First class service from Stew on a…
First class service from Stew on a large new build project throughout 2025, must have ended up using BuyMaterials about 20 times for bulk materials mostly, saved a lot of money and a lot of time. Stew replied within minutes and I had quotes extremely quickly. Can’t recommend highly enough and will definitely use again on our next project of 4 new builds later on this year.

Fantastic Experience
The process has been so easy. I’ve done two large orders through buymaterials.com and have had to amend them at short notice, change delivery dates and delay an order altogether and it has all been accommodated with great communication and understanding. The order was easy to create, when I asked for a change of delivery date, my request was honoured with no complaints from the company.
The items arrived on the date agreed, the driver was super helpful, polite and accommodating.

Highly recommended. Did my first order online and my second order Nicole in their offices helped me. She is helpful, knowledgable and made sure she tracked my order and checked in throughout the process. The prices were fantastic and service was second to none. Their product offering takes away the stress and time of sourcing the best materials at the best price it’s the best thing I have come across online in a while especially when undertaking a big build like we are.

Skewed delivery position
Hi,
On the day of delivery, I contacted buymaterials and asked what time the delivery would be that day as it was to my son's address and I would have to go round there to supervise where they would put the delivery.
No phone call was received and the first I knew of the delivery was my daughter-in-law telling me it had been delivered. The delivery looked very skewed on the driveway but we were unable to move the materials indoors until the weekend just passed.
The photos show the state of the last few sheets of plasterboard and how badly placed the delivery had been.
We can probably use the broken pieces but it will take a lot longer to work into our project. Compensation should be given!
