Misleading Promises, Poor Support, and Unjust Refund Policy – A $300 Mistake
I lost $300 that I didn’t need to. Their support team is not well-informed and makes us waste our time and money.
First, we do not have access to the platform until you pay $300 for the trial. Before that, they offer you an introductory call of 30 minutes to explain how the program works. In a very limited time, I was informed that Buildertrend could do everything that Jobber does and more. So, I signed up right away. When exploring the platform, I noticed a lot of features that weren’t there.
I contacted their support team to check if I just didn’t know how to configure the platform correctly. After being in touch with them, I realized that no, Buildertrend does not offer everything that Jobber offers. They charge you a LOT more. For example, Buildertrend does not link the line of service from your proposal to your job schedule and calendar, and later on to the invoice. It is very hard to locate what came from what since you need to create your "to-do list" on the calendar manually and it has no connection with the proposal terms.
There is no TAX calculation on the proposal. If you want to add tax, you need to create a separate line of service and calculate the tax on the applicable items yourself (leaving a margin for error). It doesn’t show recommended addresses when you start typing; you need to fill all the boxes for the address yourself (another margin for error). To access reports, you need to upgrade to the Advanced plan (even though I was told on the introductory call that everything we talked about was available on the Essential plan). When we send an email, the name shows as (company@buildertrend) instead of just the company name. In my opinion, it is not clean to the eyes. It’s not a big deal, but Jobber offers this feature.
I was only on the platform for 3 days before I saw it didn’t work. I reached out to the team to talk about a refund, even if it was partial, and they denied it. Considering that I was misled by their team and was only on the platform for 3 days, I was expecting more understanding and consideration. But apparently, the company is only interested in their profit and sales.
So, I felt very misled by the Buildertrend team that sold me the service. I wouldn’t have spent $300 if I hadn’t received misleading information from them.
Disappointed and never using it again.
