I had 2 instalments left to pay and my Father became seriously ill and was rushed to Limerick Regional Hospital on the 25/04/24. Initially we were told he only had a couple of days at most but he recovered for a few weeks and the staff kept him alive through dialysis as his kidneys had failed. Then we were informed that there was no hope and it was only a matter of time so I contacted Budget travel to explain this to the degree that we couldn't go on the holiday. I knew we wouldn't get a refund so I asked if it was possible to defer until later in the year and that I would pay the balance. The agent I spoke with said that wasn't possible but that someone would call me. An agent rang me and told me they would facilitate a later date and so September was given as an option which she led me to believe would just be a straight transfer. She emailed me the following day with September dates at an extra cost of €700. My partner and I couldn't believe it considering the circumstances involved and the fact we had used this agency before so needless to say we won't be using them again. My Father did pass away and we were due to fly out tomorrow but as we're grieving I'm only doing this now as people need to be made aware it's not about customer service, it's all about the money regardless of what the customer is going through.

Easy to book with detailed information on holidays.

Very easy straight forward and easy to use the website and payment options.

Terrible services with lots of hidden fees, not disclosed on their website or anywhere within the terms and conditions. Best avoided and booking each part of your holiday independently - free from unnecessary ‘admin fees.’

You should indicate clearly to people that the name used booking should be the exact same name on your passport otherwise Ryanair will scald you for more money.

Never had a problem with Budget travel before but this time we paid extra to have a private transfer when we arrived our names were down for a shared shuttle service emailed ye who put me onto hoppa who said that my booking was amended to a shuttle service this was not done by me and why would I after paying extra for a private transfer now I cannot get through to budget travel and hoppa said the matter is closed this is unacceptable
