⭐️ Absolutely disgraceful experience…
⭐️ Absolutely disgraceful experience with Avis/Budget Belgium.
After ONE MONTH of emails and communication, Avis/Budget still managed to find a way to not provide the car I had booked and paid for online.
I contacted them multiple times beforehand, provided every single piece of information they requested, and repeatedly asked whether everything was in order. Not once was I clearly informed that, for the “premium” vehicle I had booked, I was required to have a credit card and specifically an American Express card.
Apparently, this incredibly important requirement only becomes relevant after a month of communication and when you actually arrive to collect the car.
And the worst part? After all this time, all the emails, all the information I provided and 26 hours of travelling from Australia, they had absolutely no alternative solution to offer.
So I arrived in Belgium exhausted after a 26-hour journey… and was left without the car I had specifically booked.
This is not a minor inconvenience. It is an absolute failure of communication, customer service and professionalism.
If a specific payment method is mandatory to rent a vehicle, SAY IT CLEARLY BEFORE THE CUSTOMER TRAVELS 26 HOURS TO PICK IT UP. It really isn’t complicated.
After a month of communication, I expected a professional company to actually know what was required for my booking and, at the very least, offer a reasonable solution.
Instead: 26 hours of travel, one month of emails, zero car and zero solution.
Welcome back to Belgium. 🇧🇪
I honestly cannot believe that a company of this size can handle a customer experience this badly
